Annika felt charu engulfing her in a bone crushing hug ,at once she saw her there .

Her wet shoulders denoted charu's constant sobs and cries.

She just comforted ,rubbing her back and caressing her hair soothingly .

That's when she noticed the person behind charu while slowly traversing her sight from the floor onto straight . Being merely shocked ,she passed a glare at Adi who was already crowned with glistening eyes watching charu in tears.

Annika came to know that even Adi went missing at the mandap . She tried contacting both several times but their mobiles remained switched off , her mind concluded that they both were involved together. Not that charu has elpoed with Adi , she didn't think of that rather maybe he helped charu . That's what she believed .

She watched charu with her eyes ready to pour down, hearing her . Her sister was never such a girl who would act selfish and bring dishonor to their family . Regretting for all that she had said to her, annika held her hand into her's before muttering,

A- mein hoon na , don't worry.

An assurance is what charu felt at that very instant .

Annika saw Adi kneeling down to face charu as the sisters sat on the couch there ,he seemed worried more. In fact, even he felt terribly guilty for his deed but when it's the matter of love ...his love he couldn't think of anything else. Her parents had trusted him like none but what has he done ? It pricked him more .

Ad- ch...charu,

He stammered voicing to somehow seek her attention but she hardly looked on.
Turning aside he looked at annika with an hepless stare ,to receive a rageful glare and few strong punches on his shoulder making him shudder down to the floor .

A- I did know that there's something wrong between you too , I thought it might be some normal fight which you idiots put on usually par ye ...? Do you even know what you have done ?

She asked pulling him up by holding his collars harshly and he looked down in guilt.

Ad- nahi annika , that time I ...I was really scared . I can't loose her , I love charu !

He expressed his state but annika merely cared .

A- you had put all of us at stake just for your damn selfish love ! Didn't you think of my parents once ? Why Adi ? Why...?! My Adi wasn't so selfish anytime , why !

She bursted out with anger and gradually tears rolled through her cheecks at once while charu just sat staring nothing at particular, intently. The only thoughts on her head now was about her parents . Will she ever be able to face them?

Ad- annika plss ,don't kill me with your words . I'm ready to do anything for her , I'm ready to bear anything . Uncle aunty se mein maafi maangunga , bass I need her that's it .

He admitted and annika looked at him with a constant frown settled on her face .

A- are you really mad Adi ? Yahan sir pe kuch hai ki nahi? Ain't I your best friend ? You could have shared your problems with me ...? From school days you have loved her and you didn't find me ...your annika to have rights on knowing it?! You just end up here one day before her wedding , then...sharab peeke le jaogi meri behen ko and at last you want to apologize. My parents aren't any robot or some saint to just forgive you as of it , moreover Praniti aunty will kill you for doing this ,don't forget that!

Listening to her charu got up and walked towards her .

C- annika , papa mumma ...? Are they very angry on me ?

She asked with a thick layered fear patched on her face, when annika looked away helplessly .

Charu felt worse ,that she turned back to kill adi with her sharp glare .

A- I don't know what to say charu, atleast you could have told me that you had loved him ?

C- annika mein isse pyaar .....

Her words sank into her tongue when she noticed the chain of black beads around annika's neck in utmost shock . With that very same expression she looked at the red streak on her hairline .

Sensing her silence annika looked up to find charu staring at her mangalsutra , she gulped .

C- don't tell me annika ...!

She asked suspiciously, and annika blinked once making charu look terrified .

A- I had no way charu , you know right? The entire crowd of media was gathered there and how can I leave our parents to get ashamed infront of our guests and people there? They were my only priority then charu ,isliye ... I became the bride ....wait wait before you could come to conclusions let me make it clear. I hardly had interest in this marriage! It was just an obligation.

She justified and charu remained quite deepened by her thoughts until ,

C- did he force you ?

A- he tried, but he couldn't succeed.

She replied with a stiffened face .

Charu let a sigh, she trusts her sister.

Maybe ,annika likes shivaay but she wasn't so desperate to run for chances behind a man and charu knew it very well.

Their bond was as strong as that , if annika trusts and understands charu the same applies to charu even. She might have acted stupid at times but never had she wished something wrong for annika .

Her chain of thoughts were broken by Adi's question.

Ad- you married shivaay ? I mean ...her ...fi...exfiance!

Annika let a slight nod ,

Ad- thank god you did . Orelse, he would have been a poor victim of my rage for coming inbetween us . I would have just....!

He expressed bursting the stones of jealousy staggered within him all these days .

A- just shut up Adi ! You have no rights to talk about my prince, he isn't like you atleast.

Her defensive statement made the other duo look at her in surprise .

Adi's eyes widened ,realizing something .

Ad- woah! Matlab...shivaay is your prince about whom you told me the other day . Ok ...ok , every action has an equal and opposite reaction ! Thankfully, atleast you have your love life in all this mess . Maybe you have to thank me ,

He grinned and annika looked away .

A- you selfish dog! You won't ever realise anything.

On the other side shivaay who hooked him up with some office stuff found it very difficult to concentrate on his work. Her words just run across his mind every now and then " do you know how painful it is ?"

He regretted for failing to understand her . His heart sank to even think of her state as he knew the true love which she had for him but the current situation flipped things entirely that they couldn't do anything about it . He felt worse for forcing her , hurting such a selfless person would actually bring pain to self because we know that they don't deserve it . He might seem rough and strict from outside, but he does care for others too but none realizes it . He tried to defend his mother because that way he thought the problem might end for the moment ,but that became the very reason for her to think of him being selfish. No ,he wasn't...he was the one who thought of her parents when she spoke about divorce .

He may seem one ,but he is never a selfish man .

Annika convinced charu to stay there only ,stating that things might get more terrible if they both return back now as their parents weren't in a normal mood to understand or even to hear them . After a lot of arguments charu agreed ,

Annika returned to OM after visiting her parents who were everything but broken . Her capacity to look upto each members of her family did surprise her actually. Like ,everyone were in trouble and she had to look after them . After all that's how she was .

Seeking happiness in others joy , so reversly shouldn't she share other's pain too...?

P- oh my mata shivaay! It's not even a day since  your wedding and you're taking your wife's side already! Give some ears to your mother's statement too shivaay ,

S- mom I understand your feelings now , you are really worried for me and I know that . But plss mom , don't involve annika in all this. She isn't the way you think ,you trust your son right ? then believe me ...she's innocent.

He completed and looked at his mother to find her staring somewhere else, behind him .

That's when he turned to witness annika standing by the doorway .

Indeed she was surprised ,the so very mumma's boy was certainly defending her !

At once pinky left the room sparing no glance on annika who was now throwing herself in the eyelock which he had initiated a few moments ago.

Both contributed equally that she was keenly staring into his eyes as she made way straight till him.

She watched him noticing the woven basket which she carried, and gulped .

A- vo...you know? He didn't even eat anything since morning and I had to feed ,pacifying him all this time. That's why I got late and moreover ,even I can't stay off from him so...,

She halted  opening the basket to carry a sleeping oreo in her arms , he mentally chuckled witnessing her cute puppy face . He was about to say something when she interrupted,

A- I'll see that he never troubles you ,I promise . He'll stay near the pool side ,and I'll look after him. You don't have to do anything, you don't have to take him for morning walks or you don't have to bathe him and...

His widened eyes made her stop,

S- I denied ?

A- you won't?

She asked curiously ,and he sighed .

S- he stays ,

She heard his straight reply and remained surprised ,

" where has the monster gone?...! " she thought .

A- it's our first night right?

She asked with a not so serious face, watching him taking his side  on the bed .

S- tho?

A- tho...., where are the decorations?! Flowers and all ?

Her grumpy reaction made him roll his eyes.

S- really annika ?

A- hello, plss don't have any ideas . I asked just like that, to test you . You've passed ,don't worry .

He was totally pissed off now that he just turned the other side without facing her .

A- vaise , I have an habit of throwing legs on others in sleep but don't worry , we have a pillow fence for that .

Settling two pillows by her side she laid hugging it ,

S- why don't you take the couch then? What if you kick me off?

He asked ,still not turning by her side and she chuckled .

A- no worries, I won't. But if you're really scared ,you can move .

S- why ? This is my room, I'll sleep wherever I want .

A- then sleep ,

She shrugged and pulled the duvet over her ,making him go ill of her silliness.

A- shivaaaaay

He opened his eyes listening to her tone of stretch .

S- haven't you slept yet ?

A- It's a new place right? So I'll  take time . Haven't you ?

S- I'm light sleeper, and if you keep singing my name like this how will I sleep ?

A- sorry for that but,could you plss speak with me for sometime till I fall asleep?

S- do I look a lullaby cassette or something ?

He asked being offended and she turned supporting her head with the palm armed straight as her elbow was leaned onto the pillow.

A- ohh come on shivaay ,it was just a request ! Atleast let me start , I know you won't. Hmmm...how was your day ? Ahh! I know like, a thrilling rollercoaster ride right ? For me too!

She exclaimed and he turned to face her at once,

S- annika ,shall I ask you something?

A- hmm?

S- will you even take things seriously anytime ? All these look a game to you, really ?

A- life does push us to extremities, but we shouldn't complicate it . Just fly with the flow ! and things will start to run fine by itself ,that one day you yourself wouldn't know where all the problems faded .Moreover ,what did you gain by behaving damn serious everytime ?

She spoke casually, and he remained quite ,not knowing an answer .

How did he even forget that this girl is a psychiatrist, her tongue is her weapon !

He should be vigilant from next time, he remembered .

Some believe it's destiny ,some believe it's fate ,but I believe that happiness is something we create 💘
