You may apply with more than one character, but it's unlikely that both will make it into the main cast. There may be more than one application for each role, that is fine, but I will only choose one of them. No matter which role you choose, there is no guarantee that your character will live.

𝟓. If you had a character in the Blood of the Desert, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲. Whether or not you were in the last one will play a part in which OCs I choose, but that part will be very, very small. I'll probably only consider it if I'm very torn between two characters. Don't let it be a deciding factor if you're debating whether or not to apply.

𝟔. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦. You may add extra information if you like. I won't complain about knowing more about them. Add categories you think are missing, or just go into as much detail as you want. However, don't leave anything that I put for you blank unless it says that it is optional information. The form doesn't have to be super detailed, but the more detailed it is, the more likely that character will be chosen. Also, make your characters diverse and original! It's more fun that way.

⤞ The Step Royal ⤝

The Queen's husband is dead, but before he married her he had a child of his own. This child was adopted by the Queen once they were married, but has no claim to the throne. They are considered part of the royal family nonetheless. If you choose this role, you may want to look at the Relevant Characters chapter to learn more about the Prince, your younger stepbrother.

⤞ The Shadow ⤝

Technically Janbu doesn't have criminals of any kind. There is no need to turn to crime in a place where everything is good. However, there are guilds of specially trained warriors who can be hired to do dangerous jobs. The Shadow is trained in stealth and combat, and could serve as an assassin should the need arise.

⤞ The Sorcerer⤝

They're probably the most powerful magic user in Ánes. Though magic comes easily in Janbu, not many feel the need to practice it. The Sorcerer learns magic from books, and has become rather good at it. They are summoned for most jobs that require more than the human hand, and are trusted with most court business.

⤞ The Sentry ⤝

The Sentry is a city guard, usually on patrol somewhere around the palace. They're trained for combat, specifically defense. Since they are posted everywhere, they see almost everything that goes on in the city. Secrets and illicit behaviors are hard to keep secret from The Sentry.

⤞ The Architect ⤝

Since people are always coming to Janbu, to Ánes specifically, new homes need to be built constantly. The city is a spread of intricate and lavish treehouses, connected with ziplines and bridges. The Architect is one of the people who build new homes and buildings, and generally expand the city. They're smart and have most of the city memorized.

⤞ The Musician ⤝

Ánes' population looks for just about any excuse to celebrate. The Prince could sneeze, and they would throw a party in honor of it. The Musician is an entertainer, travelling around the city to where they are needed to play their music and spread joy. However, since they move around so much and are known to basically the entire city's population, it's likely that their nose will get stuck perhaps where it isn't wanted. Often underestimated as a silly singing fool, The Musician hears a lot more than they let on.

Janbu's cities are built in the trees since the ground is so hard to traverse. There are roots and rivers and mangroves everywhere. However, when travelling outside the city, one must descend to the ground. To navigate safely over land, it's necessary to use the aid of animals like elephants and okapis. To travel via river, one might need the help of river dolphins and anacondas. The Guide is a herder of animals, and uses a special brand of magic to talk to them. They're the one who transports people to and fro in the city of Ánes.

In Ánes, it's often easier to send a message with a talking bird than go all the way to someone's house/workplace. Birds like parrots can be given messages and destinations to deliver news, orders, and other kinds of information. Does your character have a messenger bird? What kind of bird? How good is it at its job?

If you are applying for the Step Royal, list the King, Queen, and Prince. More information on all of them is in the Relevant Characters chapter.

Backstory!

Remember that bad things don't happen much in Janbu, so if you're going to have a tragic backstory keep that in mind. It's possible that your character is an immigrant from Ailica or other kingdoms, such as the plains of Mobi Zan or the seaside cliffs of Ushua.
