Chapter One
You're Ronnie Lake

3rd Person POV

ronnie sat in the back of her tourbus as she stared at her phone, her mother and father sat upfront talking to each other as she scrolled through her texts and emails. she responded to many of them and when she looked up , she was met with her mother walking back to talk to her

"hi mom" she exclaimed and nicole smiled at her as she sat down next to her and made eye contact

"so you really do want to go to this camp?" she asked and ronnie nodded

"yeah mom, i heard really good things about it and this gives me time to be a normal teenager" ronnie stated and nicole nodded

"you are a normal teenager" she tried and ronnie shook her head

"mom i can't go out without people recording me and recognizing me, i just need to go to camp and feel safe, away from everything" she said and she held up her phone before she set it down next to her and she nodded

"are you giving me this?" nicole asked as she looked at the phone in ronnie's hand

" i should, it might be for the best mom" she said

"just ignore the texts baby. you might need it for memories" she spoke and ronnie nodded in agreement

"yeah you're right, thanks mom" she said and she turned off all
of her text messages from managers and others that involved her work

"sweetie did you know there's another camp cross the lake?" shawn called out and she moved the curtain aside to see a sign

"camp star" she whispered and she brushed the curtain back as she leaned against the seat and she shook her head

"never heard of it" she spoke and shawn shrugged

"so tess, how is she?" he questioned and she moved up so he could see her through the mirror

"oh um good she's good, we've been doing the same thing lately" she said and he nodded

"you happy to see her?" he asked and she smiled brightly

"yeah i've missed her" she said and they pulled up to the camp. ronnie stood up as she stretched her legs out and raised her arms above her head

"alright let's get your stuff" nicole said and ronnie stopped her

"actually i think i can do it, i love you but i don't want people to freak out over you guys" she exclaimed and they nodded as they stood up and hugged her

"have fun ron, be careful" shawn said as he kissed her forehead and she nodded with a smile

"of course i'll be careful, i love you guys. thank you" she stated and they let go of the hug. she climbed out of the tour bus and she grabbed her bags from the under bus area.

she pulled her bags out as she put them on her shoulders and she looked around

"RONNIE!" she heard as she moved away from the bus and her parents drove away

"TESS!" she yelled as she dropped her bags and ran over to her

"i am so glad you are here oh my god" tess said and she smiled at her as they wrapped each other in their arms and smiled

"we have so much to talk about" tess exclaimed and ronnie nodded

"oh definitely, help me with my bags first?" she said and tess nodded as they picked up her bags and they walked to the cabin

"so we're the first ones here, mom wanted to get rid of me" tess said sadly and ronnie smiled sadly

"i'm sorry tess you deserve better than that" she exclaimed and tess smiled

"thanks ron, so i already chose my bed and i'm pretty sure that are about 4 others joining us so choose your bed" tess exclaimed and ronnie nodded as she looked around

she walked over to a bed and she put her stuff up as she arranged it and then she pulled out the song book from the bag and put it next to her bed

"oohhh let me see" tess said and ronnie handed it to her with a smile

"style? sing it to me" she said and ronnie smiled as she grabbed back the book and started to read it

"you've got that james dean
daydream look in your eye
and i got that red lip classic thing
that you like" she sang and tess smiled

"that's not all you've got, you have the whole song here" tess exclaimed as she read the rest of the song

"so who is it about?" tess questioned and ronnie grabbed back her book with a shy smile on her face

"no one, nobody, don't worry about it" ronnie said and tess smiled

"i'll find out some how" she spoke and they heard the door open. they turned to see peggy and ella

"TESS!" they said and tess walked over to hug them as ronnie stood off to the side staring at the ground as she picked at her nails

"oh my god you're ronnie lake" ella spoke and she looked up with a smile

"yeah hi, it's nice to finally meet you ella" she said and ella smiled brightly

"you know my name! she knows my name!" ella exclaimed and ronnie smiled

"hi im peggy" she spoke and ronnie turned to her

"ronnie , nice to meet you, i heard about that song with shane grey, it was beautiful" and peggy blushed softly

"i've heard all of your songs" she said and ronnie chuckled

"i'm glad" she said and they smiled at each other before they looked at her songbook

"is that...." peggy led off and ronnie nodded

"for another time, when i know you better" she said and peggy smiled softly

"alright well hope fully soon, i'm happy you're here. it'll be a good summer" peggy said and she nodded

" i hope so" she said and they all smiled , they walked away from each other and they went to their bunks as ronnie put her book away and she smiled as the door opened

she looked at tess as she heard them squeal and she sighed

"long summer ron, long summer" she whispered to herself and she walked over with tess as they watched

she felt left out, why did she feel left out? she was ronnie lake, she never felt left out

maybe camp wasn't the best idea
