Chapter Seven
The Plan

3rd Person POV

"okay  ronnie, mitchie what's the plan?" caitlyn asked as they all stood together. mitchie stood next to shane and nate stood next to ronnie as they stared waiting

"the only reason the camp has to close down is because of staff right?" mitchie spoke

"yeah so what's the plan?" peggy continued

"we become the staff, we teach the kids, we keep the camp open" she said and they all nodded

"but you guys have to be prepared for whatever comes our way, these kids guys they may be reckless but they need our help
so are you all in?" ronnie asked and she turned to nate

"i am" he spoke and she smiled

"yeah me too" shane exclaimed

"caitlyn, peggy, ella?" she asked

"yeah this is a really good idea you guys, this might actually work" peggy said and she smiled

"barron? sander?" mitchie exclaimed

"yeah let's do it" they agreed

"alright well let's go get brown" she said and they all nodded as they went to the staff closer and got the respective hats. they walked to browns and they lined up against the table. ronnie stood between nate and mitchie  as brown walked in

"what's going on?" he asked and mitchie stepped forward

"well you said you needed some new counselors so me and ronnie talked and well we found you some" mitchie exclaimed

"than it looks like i should call this staff meeting to order" brown said and ronnie smiled

"we're geniuses mitch truly" she said softly and they hugged each other

"alright roles here we go" brown said and he looked at them as he started to explain their roles

"and ronnie wait a minute" he said and she smiled

"yeah what's up brown?" she asked

"you're a rockstar already , you can sing and dance and play guitar so i was thinking you can work with peggy some days, caitlyn some days and shane some days. if that's okay with you" she said and she nodded

"of course it's okay with me brown, anything to keep this camp alive and running" she said and she ran off with caitlyn

"alright let's dance" caitlyn spoke and she smiled

"sorry definitely not where we need to be" she said and she grabbed caitlyn's hand as they ran off and found the place

"alright we did it, you guys ready?" ronnie asked as they all
clapped and cheered

"here we go, guys. all right. circle , down. head, meet up" caitlyn exclaimed and ronnie danced with them . they practice before they led them out of the room and to somewhere else

"you guys are good, great even" she spoke and they all smiled at her

"caitlyn you have control of this don't you?" she said and she nodded

"so see shane you teen heartthrob" she spoke and ronnie smiled as she bumped her shoulder and left the room. she walked up behind nate and smiled at him

"hey there rockstar" she spoke and he smiled awkwardly at her

"thought you were training" he said and she shrugged as she sat down next to him

" i was but i got a break for a little while, lifeguard duty?" she asked as she pointed at the binoculars and he nodded sheepishly

"something like that, are you free for the rest of the day?" he asked

"i might be , i do however have to go do something's but nate we have the whole summer to hang out. i will make time for you, pinky promise" she held up her pinky and interlocked it with his

"go do you mr job sunshine" he said and she nudged his shoulder with hers before she got up and she left the sand as he watched her leave with a smile on her face

"nate?" shane called

"shut up and walk away" nate stated and shane threw his hands up in the air as he left. ronnie walked to the mess hall to see connie

"oh ronnie thank god, can you come help me?" she asked and ronnie nodded

"yeah of course mrs.torres" she spoke and she walked out to the kitchen. she started to make the hamburgers with connie as she looked out the window and turned to see mitchie with shane

"they're truly are cute aren't they?" ronnie said and connie nodded

"i'm happy you're helping the kitchen has been a disaster" connie spoke and ronnie turned to her

"how?" she asked

"well, yesterday i ordered 50 pounds of black beans and i got 50 cases of beach balls instead" connie groaned

"yeah mitchie once me that you don't have the best handwriting"
ronnie spoke and connie shook her head with a smile

"i'm happy you and her are friends, you really are a good influence" she exclaimed and ronnie smiled softly

"thank you connie, you really are a good mother and cook though" ronnie appreciated

"well your mom is a good mom too" connie said and ronnie shrugged sadly

"i don't know.." ronnie began but she stopped herself

"oh honey what do you mean?" connie asked as they finished with the hamburgers

"it's just.. ever since she found out that i could dance and sing and act, i'm a project. she's not really my mom anymore , she's more of a manager. mitchie is lucky to have you" ronnie said as she wiped the tear that she didn't even notice off

she didn't want to cry. she always loved the rain but thunderstorms scared her and when she cried, she was told that it was thundering and it wouldn't stop until she grew up and stopped her emotions. she wouldn't cry because it scared her. she didn't like to have angry emotions or sad emotions because it made her feel insane and wrong. she hated feeling that way but to her mother, she wasn't ronnie lake

she was veronica sofia lake , not her daughter but her client and her client was horrifying of her and what she thought. connie walked forward and she hugged her tightly

" i will always be here for you whenever you need it" she said and they pulled away as they heard a knock on the door and they opened it

there stood a surprise
