sometimes it distracts from the poem a little to put an author's note at the end, and so here I am ! For whatever reason, "her modernity" inspired a lot of thought (or a moderate amount, as we will soon find out ♥️

'savoir' (to know, dressed trout, you'll be fine, c-cups!) I had a lovely feeling of satisfaction after I finished this, and I do like the rhyming, it is a good skill (not to say I am proud of rhyming "again" with "when". Assonance or something?)

'arriver' (to arrive, you showed up in the night, bitten children) I first imagined this as a possibly vindictive mother, on her son (or even daughter – but this is how I imagined it), and then of course one's mind becomes overactive and I added as an author's note a very complex story. Luckily, the infinitely wise and lovely seasofme stepped in!

'couvrir' (to cover, what do masks really hide?) I wrote this at a point in my life when I was unsure about my personal opinions on plastic surgery, etc. I am respectful of ANY decision within reason, and also lovelovelove Dolly Parton. So. Women especially face far too much adversity to be bothered with what some 14 y/o Belgian girl thinks of their Botox. So .

'sourire' (to smile, one last pill, unknown substances) this was quite an early poem and therefore not very well structured and a bit difficult to read. It remains with message, hopefully.

"adorer" (to love, skin on skin, no matter) I really liked the finish product of this – it's a bit empty words-wise, and I don't know how I thought it up, but I like how it's said.

"trouver" (to find, pixels, *click*) A great example of me covering up my poetic inexperience and skill by turning whatever poem I am unhappy with into a shape poem. Life's too short!

"detester" (to hate, Botox no-tox, my week with Marilyn) Hey, so the referenced film "My Week with Marilyn" was produced by the infinitely détestable Harvey Weinstein, whaddayaknow? perhaps this adds some meaning to the poem.
