Same night, 1:45am....

Neil opened his eyes to see the bed empty. He got worried but relaxed as soon as he heard the sound of shower. But he was perplexed as why was Avni taking shower at this time of the night.

He walked up to the door of the washroom and knocked it. But to his surprise, the door was unlocked. He thought whether he should open it or not. But somewhere he felt that something is about to happen which may not be pleasant. He mustered up and opened the door.

There stood a broken soul, all shattered and withered. He was shocked when he saw a blade in her hand. The shower was running with water droplets trickling down her body wrapped up in a bath robe.

NO!!!!!!

He screamed his lungs out.

Avni got startled by this and the blade in her hand fell on the floor. She looked at the door and frowned. Neil ran to her and engulfed her in a big, tight hug.

Neil: What the hell were you going to do?
His eyes red and tears trickled down his cheeks.

Avni: What?

He picked up the blade and showed it to her. She slowly understood why he reacted this way. She sighed and picked up the razor kept on the other side and showed it to him.

Avni: This is what I was upto. I was going to shave my legs.

Neil: At this time?( he asked confused)

Avni: I was not getting any sleep. So I thought of utilizing my time this way. Plus, whatever happened at the hospital today.... I just felt dirty and wanted to take a shower.

Neil looked at her with hurt expressions on his face. Avni immediately cupped his face and shook her head, telling him not to feel bad.

Neil: I'm sorry, I couldn't protect you.

Avni: Its OK. Its not your fault. This world is full of jerks and we can't do anything about it. I agree I was broken, a little shocked but YOU heal me. You are MY SAVIOUR, MY HERO. You heal me.           With this she joined their foreheads together.

Neil let out a sigh of relief. He was happy, that finally she was coming out of her insecurities. She was a brave girl, its just that she needed someone to stand by her, be her rock.

Neil: Thankyou! For trusting me so much. I love you!

Avni: I love you too!

Neil: But I fixed your appointment with a lady doctor. How come you got that doctor as you gynecologist.

Avni: I'll tell you everything. But right now, I'm feeling cold. You go outside, I'll take a shower and come.

Neil: Hmmm... But I'm taking this blade with me.

Avni laughed and pushed Neil out of the washroom.

Neil was happy that atleast she laughed. He was so tensed as to how he would get her back to normal but now he was relieved. He felt good that she trusted him so much, believed him and thought of him as a medicine to her wounds. He couldn't resist that wide grin on his face.

Maybe things were changing....FOR THE GOOD...
