Christmas was coming. One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow. The lake froze solid and the Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they followed Quirrell around, bouncing off the back of his turban. The few owls that managed to battle their way through the stormy sky to deliver mail had to be nursed back to health by Hagrid before they could fly off again.

No one could wait for the holidays to start. While the Slytherin common room and the Great Hall had roaring fires, the drafty corridors had become icy and a bitter wind rattled the windows in the classrooms.

"I do feel so sorry," said Draco, one Potions class, "for all those people who have to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas because they're not wanted at home."

Us Slytherins laughed and hi-fived each other.

We had Defence Against The Dark Arts next. With the classroom smelling of garlic, Quirrell not really sure how to teach at all, we just joked and played around.

After Quirell announced class dismissed, we packed up our things. Though, I whispered to Draco and Pansy, "you go ahead,  I want to talk to Quirrell about something."

I approached the teacher's desk and said in a clear voice, "Excuse me, Professor Quirrell."

Quirrell looked up at me and folded his hands. "Yes, Miss Riddle. What can I help you with?"

"What's under your turban, sir?" I asked, mischievously.

"I believe that's my own private matters, Miss Riddle. Now if you excuse me, I have other important things to tend to." Professor Quirrel tried to escape but I locked the door.

"I don't think so sir, or should I say... father."

QUIRRELL'S POV

How did she know at all that I was hiding my master on the back of my head. No one knew, and I don't really think that it's obvious.

"May I please see and talk to father?" Malfoy enquired.

"Aren't you the Malfoy girl though? I hear Lucius is quite well and not on the back of my head..."

"We both know I'm not talking about Lucius. I'm talking about... Voldemort."

"But he's not your father!" I argued.

"No, but he is, if I'm Hermione Jean Riddle."

HERMIONE'S POV

Quirrell looked shocked, in my opinion. He kept muttering, "The missing Riddle girl... the missing Riddle girl..."

"So am I allowed to see father?" I questioned.

Quirrell looked rather put out. "Miss Malfoy, your father wishes that I keep his existence on the back of my head a secret."

Suddenly, a hissy voice rang out and surrounded the room. "Let... me... see... my girl."

Quirrel looked a bit nervous, but he unwrapped his turban, making his head seem like a boiled egg, rather small. He turned around and I saw... a face.

"Hermione... my girl..."

"Father..." I whispered. Seeing him for the first time, it felt like a hole inside me had been repaired. The hole that my Muggle father, nor Lucius Malfoy could ever fill.

"Why are you in this state? How can I help you?"

"You do know of the Potter boy, don't you?" Father whispered. "That night, the one where all my powers were gone, your mother Bellatrix Lestrange and a few of my followers were sent to capture Neville Longbottom, while I went to the Potter house. I killed James and Lily Potter, when I was about to kill Harry though, the spell rebounded, and all my powers were gone."

"But why did you have to send Mother to capture Neville Longbottom and kill the Potters?" I asked, timidly. After all, this didn't seem like a happy topic to be talked about when you're meeting your father for the first time in ages. It's just like saying, "Hi dad, I haven't seen you in ages, by the way, why did you randomly slaughter some innocent people?"

Father sighed. "I had to. They took something from me a long long time ago. This is something you should be able to remember, but it was locked away because of the attack..."

"What attack?" I asked, shivers running down my spine.

"Hermione... " my father whispered, a faraway look in his eyes, "you have a twin brother."

A/N: It has come to my attention that one of my best friends, @alicornpoopisspakly, at school has been bullied by someone on Wattpad (a user user62184491 . A message to everyone: bullying is wrong. Expressing your own opinion on someone's comments is okay. Bullying others because of that is extremely wrong.
