Last time we witnessed Astro Vegapunk as he performed the last few tasks he wished to complete before departing for his grandpa's island. What exactly awaits the young aspiring scientist on his grandfather's island? Who else could possibly be living at such a place?

In the middle of the ocean a medium sized yacht was seen sailing across the calm waters. Standing in the deck looking out over the horizon was Astro Vegapunk. He had traded his school uniform for a white polo shirt, khaki pants and a pair of black sneakers. Astro looked up at the cloudless sky as he contemplated the last few days spent on the yacht. "The owner and his staff keep giving me strange looks even after three days of sailing with them. I suppose that important figure they needed to collect was not a teenager in their minds." Astro thought to himself as he continued to look up at the sky above, watching a flock of seagulls fly overhead. Astro let out a sigh as he leaned against the railing of the Yacht, a bored expression on his face.

"We should be arriving at Egghead island today. I cannot wait to see grandpa again, at least he'll be happy to have me around." Astro thought to himself bitterly as he continued to stare out over the open ocean. Three days ago, Issei's parents had dropped him off at the docks in Kuoh, seeing him off. Astro let out another sigh, that was also the last time he was around anyone who didn't seem to have an issue with him. "Endure a little longer Astro, it's just like those insufferable business parties mother and father forced you to attend." Astro thought to himself as he let out another frustrated sigh, trying to shake the negative thoughts out of his mind. The sound of footsteps could be heard from behind Astro, causing the teen to quickly turn around.

Walking up to him was a man in a expensive pink suit, he had slicked-back green hair, multiple gold rings adorned his hands. He appeared to be in his early forties and had a muscular build.

This man was Gild Tesoro, the owner of the world's largest and most successful floating entertainment city, the Gran Tesoro. "You got a moment brat?" Tesoro asked as he shot Astro a stern look stopping next to him at the railing of the Yacht. Astro gave a simple nod of his head, turning to face Tesoro who locked eyes with him, his eyes narrowing into a glare. "Who exactly are you anyway? I was requested by Vegapunk himself to stop in that backwater town in Japan to pick you up and bring you to Egghead. I was expecting a politician or business man, not some sniveling highschooler." Tesoro said with distaste obvious in his tone of voice as he continued to scrutinize Astro with his judgmental gaze.

Astro let out a sigh, on his first day he was intimidated by the man, stumbling over his words. However overtime he realized the man had a desperate need to feel superior, so Astro simply played along. "Well Mr. Tesoro, I suppose you could say my family has connections to Dr. Vegapunk. My parents called in a favor for him to take me under his tutelage. I am an aspiring scientist, who better to learn from then the world's smartest man?" Astro explained in an excited tone, feeling a slight twisting in his stomach, telling a twisted version of the truth. "Fiction is easier to believe than fact in this situation I suppose." Astro reasoned to himself to help justify his own lying. Tesoro sniffed indignantly at Astro's words, but seemingly accepted the answer he was given.

"Just another rich kid whose parents get him whatever he wants then? Your generation knows nothing about clawing your way to the top from the bottom. That's real success brat." Tesoro said sternly as his words stabbed into Astro like needles. Astro bit back a frustrated growl, of course that's what he would assume from his answer, but he couldn't lash out it wouldn't do him any good. "I suppose you're right, but if you don't mind my asking, what is your connection to Vegapunk, Mr. Tesoro?" Astro asked a mock look of curiosity spreading across his face. The scowl on Tesoro's face was quickly replaced by a rather pompous smirk at the question. "I happen to be one of the leading investors of Vegapunk's research. That's what hard work can earn you kid, remember that!" Tesoro said in a smug tone as a fake look of awe spread across Astro's face.

"Grandpa gets money from this guy, guess it's about all he's good for in the scientific field." Astro thought to himself as he merely decided to focus his attention back on the horizon, noticing that an island was coming into view. "That's the other reason I came to talk to you. We'll be docking at Egghead soon, don't do anything to make me look bad." Tesoro ordered sternly as Astro merely replied with a simple nod of the head. The yacht continued to sail towards Egghead island, however as it continued to get closer to the island, the water began to get choppy, causing the Yacht to sway. "The hell?! The sky is completely clear, why is the water suddenly getting rough?!" Tesoro barked in frustration as he and Astro both held onto the railing.

Astro looked down at the ocean below and saw a large shadow beneath the waves that completely engulfed the Yacht from below. The shadow took on the vague shape of a hand before the yacht was suddenly lifted out of the water. Astro and Tesoro both turned to see a giant robot cradling the yacht in its hands, looking down at them.

"What in the hell is that monstrosity?!" Tesoro screamed as he backed away from the robot as best he could on the boat. Astro on the other hand stared at the metal monstrosity in complete awe, he saw "Vegaforce 1" printed on its chest and immediately knew what it was. "Grandpa built this robot! If this is just a guard for the island, what does he have on the island proper?" Astro thought to himself excitedly as he could already tell he would learn a lot with his grandpa's guidance.

Suddenly the face to the robot opened up revealing a cockpit as a figure stepped out. It was a woman in a pink jumpsuit with a purple jacket overtop of it, large purple boots adorned her feet. On her head was a red pilot helmet that she removed, revealing a head of short, messy brown hair, her one eye was purple while the other was obscured by her hair.

"Intruders, you have trespassed far too close to Egghead Island! Surrender all of your valuables or face the consequences!" The woman sneered as she glared down at Astro and Tesoro. Tesoro was sweating bullets as he looked up at the woman in the robot, Astro however was confused, this girl only looked two or three years older then him, what was she doing piloting a robot built by his grandpa? "Excuse me, but who are you exactly?" Astro asked as he shot the woman a curious look.

"Are you trying to get us killed you idiot?!" Tesoro shouted as he shot a glare at Astro, looking like he wanted to strangle the teenager. The woman however directed her gaze at Astro studying him closely before a cocky smirk spread across her face. "I am Lilith! One of the six pupils of Dr. Vegapunk who has the honor of working alongside him! I am designated as Punk 02! Why is an intruder asking?" Lilith asked as she shot a condescending look at Astro who to her surprise smiled at her. "Oh, you work for grandpa? It's a pleasure to meet you! I hope we can get along!" Astro said in a calm tone as Lilith's eyes widened in shock while Tesoro's jaw hit the deck of the yacht.

Lilith however had a doubtful look on her face as she studied Astro closely. "Your Dr. Vegapunk's grandson? He said you would be coming to live on Egghead, but you expect me to just take your word for it? Produce identification immediately!" Lilith ordered, her eyes narrowing into a suspicious glare. Astro then reached into his wallet before pulling out a special ID card his grandfather had sent him a week before his departure. Astro held the card up for Lilith to see as the woman slipped her helmet back on, activating the zoom lens on her helmet. "I'll be damned, so you're Astro Vegapunk! Gotta admit I was expecting someone more wimpy looking, but you're actually kind of cute!" Lilith said as a teasing smile spread across her face.

Astro's face heated up as it turned a vibrant shade of red, which only caused Lilith to cackle at the sight. "Well considering you are our guest of honor, care to ride with me in Vegaforce 1? Dr. Vegapunk will want you to arrive as soon as possible." Lilith said as she sat back in the control chair of the giant robot before working the controls so Vegaforce 1 was holding the Yacht in one hand while the other was position next to the yacht, acting as a platform. Astro carefully leaped over the railing of the yacht, landing on the open palm of Vegaforce 1 before the robot's hand raised him up to its head. "Y-Y-Your Dr. Vegapunk's grandson? Since when did he have a family?!" Tesoro said in a complete dumbfounded stupor as he stared at Astro. The teenager simply smiled at the man.

"Given Grandpa's reputation he keeps his family affairs very top secret as to prevent any form of blackmail. Regardless thank you for helping me arrive at my grandfather's island, Mr. Tesoro!" Astro said as he let a smug smirk spread across his face as Lilith offered her hand to Astro. Astro took Lilith's hand as the woman pulled him into the cockpit of Vegaforce 1. Lilith then turned her gaze to Tesoro, her glare once again returning. "Gild Tesoro, you have learned some delicate intel about Dr. Vegapunk's personal affairs. I hope you understand the repercussions of leaking it." Lilith said in a tone that could freeze over hell as Tesoro nodded his head quickly, not wishing to anger the woman further. With that Lilith sat back down in the control seat before slipping her helmet back on her head as the robot's head closed back up.

"Was threatening him like that really necessary? He already looked traumatized when he found out who I really am." Astro asked Lilith as he shot the female scientist a curious look. Lilith merely giggled at Astro's question as she started flying Vegaforce 1 towards Egghead Island. "Come now, rich pricks like them could stand to be knocked down a few pegs every once in a while! Besides isn't it fun watching them squirm in fear?" Lilith said with another giggle as Astro noticed the cruel smirk spreading across the woman's face. Astro flinched back slightly to the side of the robot's cockpit, intimidated by Lilith's words. "Note to self, never get on her bad side." Astro thought to himself as he quietly stood to the side as he watched Egghead island get closer and closer through the eyes of Vegaforce 1.

Egghead Island
After dropping Tesoro's yacht off at the docks, Lilith landed Vegaforce 1 on a docking pad as the giant robot kneeled down allowing her and Astro to disembark. Lilith then lead Astro over to a platform that looked out over the entirety of the island. Astro's eyes widened in shock and awe as he was gazing upon the most technologically advanced city he had ever seen.

"It's fantastic, I always wondered what grandpa's island looked like, but this completely obliterates any and all expectations I had." Astro said in a stupefied voice as he continued to study every building within his line of sight. Lilith let out giggle as she walked up next to Astro, a smile on her face as well. "It's Dr. Vegapunk's life's work on full display. He can't wait to show it all to you, it's all he's talked about for the last few days." Lilith said in a matter of fact manner as she continued to look out over the island. Astro however turned to look at her completely dumbfounded, it was rare for his grandpa to get distracted from his research.

"Really? Grandpa never lets anything distract him from his research. Are you sure he didn't just mention me in passing?" Astro asked as he didn't quite believe Lilith's claim. Lilith for her part let out another giggle as she shot Astro a mischievous smirk. "You're a bit of a celebrity here already. Dr. Vegapunk doesn't really talk about his son, but whenever someone asks about you he goes off on a tangent. I guess you could say the other Punks and I have been curious about meeting you for a while now." Lilith admitted as she winked at Astro. Astro's face heated up as it turned a vibrant shade of red. However aside from his embarrassment, Astro was once again confused by one of the terms Lilith used to describe herself.

"You keep referring to yourself as "Punk" is there some kind of meaning to that designation?" Astro asked as he knew that with his grandfather every designation had some form of important meaning. Lilith let a smirk spread across her face as she leaned in close to Astro, causing him to stumble back slightly. "Well you're proving to be sharp like the Doctor said you were. The Punks are the six scientists that get to work directly alongside Vegapunk. I suppose you could say we are his brightest pupils who have access to his vast collection of research." Lilith explained before she grabbed ahold of Astro's hand before she began leading him towards one of the many domes connected by tubes running throughout the city. "Now let's hop to it! We shouldn't keep Dr. Vegapunk waiting any longer!" Lilith cheered as she dragged him towards a form of transportation device.

Labophase
After a ride in a capsule like shuttle, Astro found himself standing on the giant cloud that floated above the rest of Egghead Island. "This is incredible! A cloud dense enough for both people and structures, I'll have to pick grandpa's brain for the formula at some point." Astro said excitedly as he looked out over the dense cloud he was currently standing on. Lilith however let out a giggle at his childish reaction to Labophase. "I much prefer your kid in a candy store reaction to all this over those stuffy jerk offs that come here with money on their minds. At least someone has an appreciation for science." Lilith said as Astro turned to face her, a blush spreading across his face as he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

"I-I apologize, it's just this is everything I hoped it would be and so much more. Grandpa has always been my main inspiration, to finally see his life's work. Well I dare say it's a dream come true." Astro admitted shyly yet truthfully. Lilith let out another giggle before gesturing for Astro to follow her. The female scientist led Astro towards the building that sat atop the giant cloud, this was his grandfather's laboratory. Astro followed Lilith through the door to the laboratory, the teen feeling as though he found the holy grail when he stepped through the door to the laboratory. Astro looked around the laboratory, seeing the multitude of machines, computers, chemicals, and other scientific materials lining the large building.

As Astro and Lilith continued to walk through the laboratory, the sound of footsteps were heard approaching them from down the hall. "Seems Dr. Vegapunk was informed of your arrival." Lilith said in a teasing tone as she and Astro stopped walking. After a minute of waiting the duo saw an elderly man approaching them he had wild white hair, noticeably long legs, he had a long tongue that was stuck out of his mouth. However the most noticeable feature was the half apple that was connected to the top of his head.

"Astro my boy! It is fantastic to finally have you here on Egghead!" Dr. Vegapunk called out to his grandson as he walked up to the teenager. Dr. Vegapunk pulled his grandson into a hug which he happily returned. However Astro noticed the strange apple protrusion from his grandfather's head, which is noticeably smaller than the last time he saw him. "Grandpa what happened to your head? It's completely shrunk." Astro said as he looked his grandfather over, completely lost as to how this transformation could occur.

Vegapunk started to laugh at his grandson's question as he let a large grin spread across his face. "There is much I have to teach you my boy, the reconfiguration of my cranium is one of them. However how are you? You've shot up like a weed in cool weather!" Vegapunk said with a good natured chuckle. Vegapunk then turned to Lilith, a more serious expression spreading across his face. "Did Tesoro give Astro any trouble?" Vegapunk asked his student who let a large smirk spread across her face. "From what I could tell no harm came to Astro, but I made sure to let Tesoro know what would happen if he leaked any of this sensitive information." Lilith said in a dark tone as a sadistic smile spread across her face.

Astro once again felt his skin crawl slightly at Lilith's tone while Vegapunk simply laughed at his student's words. "Good, that man cares about status and connections, so I doubt he would be foolish enough to leak such sensitive information." Vegapunk said before as he turned on his heel before leading the duo deeper into the lab. Astro however kept his eyes locked onto his grandfather, he had so many questions as to what exactly he has been doing over the years. "I have much to teach you Astro and many secrets of the world to reveal to you. Some related to Kuoh Town." Vegapunk spoke as Astro's eyes widened in shock at the mention of the town he used to live in. The teenage scientist was slightly taken aback, but knew if his grandfather mentioned it by name it had to be important.

"There's something important in Kuoh Town? I apologize for my naivety grandpa, but it seemed like an ordinary town to me." Astro admitted truthfully as he didn't exactly understand where is grandfather was coming from. Vegapunk let out a good natured chuckle as he directed a smile over his shoulder at his grandson. "Astro my boy, there are some phenomenon in this world that if science cannot explain. That is why I am thrilled to have you here with me. Humanity in truth are not the dominant species we claim to be." Vegapunk explained cryptically as Astro only grew more confused and curious with each word spoken by his grandfather. "What exactly do you mean grandpa?" Astro asked, more curious than ever to learn from his grandfather.

Vegapunk let out an amused chuckle as he once again shot a smile over his shoulder at his grandson. "Patience my boy is a virtue. First you must meet the other Punks, you will be working alongside all of them for the forseeable future." Vegapunk explained as Astro's eyes widened in shock. Astro of course expected to work alongside his grandfather, but to work alongside scientists smart enough to impress his grandfather? "G-Guess I have a lot to look forward to." Astro said timidly, now nervous about the coming weeks working under his grandfather. Lilith however shot him a sideways smirk. "I look forward to seeing what you can do." Lilith purred as she winked at Astro, causing the boy's face to turn as red as a tomato. Vegapunk let out another chuckle as he continued to lead his grandson and student deeper into the lab, there was work to be done after all.

So Astro has finally landed on Egghead Island! He has also met one of the Punks, scientists being trained by his grandfather personally.
