On the long road to the College for her second semester Lain serenity goes into a remote town sign that says welcome to Wired Hill as she drove by it, Town looks very old and with old telephone poles that gives off a strange buzzing and when she least expected her car started to break down as close to the first set of buildings.

Lain:No No No oh please No.

Line pulled out her phone but can't get reception somehow found a nearby pay phone to call a tow that I arrived a few minutes later and gets a ride to the auto mechanic.

The Auto mechanic

The mechanic: It doesn't look to bad may take a few days to get the need parts hope your not in a rush on where you are going.

Lain: My second semester we'll start in over a month from now and the road I normally take is getting some work done could take a year and a half which is why I'm passing through here.

The mechanic: well we only have land internet due to the electrical interference that the clouds above seems to be causing the internet cafe if you want to email those that would be worried if you'll be late.

Lain:Thank for the informant... Earl.

Earl: It around the corner of the lane third building down on your right open till 11:00 p.m.

Lain look at her phone clock and see that she got time good thing she left the first thing in the morning.

On the way over she see that the buildings look very old'90s simply and that the sky above looks very unpleasant like someone above was very unhappy with her being in the town and the telephone Paul wires gave off a strange Buzz and she sees the internet cafe Earl talked about the sign that reeds Ciberia.

Lain: That just cheesy.

Then she walked into the cafe to do what she needs to do.

When she enter the cafe it so Neon lit and cheesy with all the seamlessly '90s lingo.

Lain: oh my head it's like being back in my old town where no one comes out of their Rock.

Then Lain seize the computer she needs to send her email as she sits down and gets to work on it.

Lain: Don't know if she will respond but she's the only one that gets me and not have a mind go blank.

Then Lain see while getting up is what seem to be some kind of spray tag that looks very strange.

Lain: is that a gage tag?

When Lain took a closer look at it and it seem to be more medieval.

Lain: does this town have a cult, Chef now of those things in a town like this.

Then Lain bought it on her left was what looks like stairs that goes downwards with a neon sign that says above the entry VR layer.

Lain: That so a digital rabbit hole name for a gaming room.

With nothing else to do Lain took the stairs down and sees that there's a door at the bottom of the stairs and when she opens it the room behind it looks like a mad Man's computer room.

Lain: I know I did one year of tech and coding for now but this looks like a mad scientist VR lab that I'm guessing.

The place have weird devices and screens with what seems to be a VR chair near the back as Lain look around when she enter the room.

Lain: what kind of experiment are they doing here?

Lain try to look it up in one of the computer terminals to see what she can find out on what or whoever is doing in there.

Data log 001: The Wired chairs the company wants data on to see if it can be safe for consumers, the wire goes into a digital community diverse where people can talk and interact with friends and loved ones in digital landscapes.

Lain: That what the chair is for?

When Lain took a closer look at the chairs that seem to be a VR headset mounted on it and when she sits down on it and then puts it on thinking it won't work but when it came on.

Wired experiment 01: orientation.

As Lain take off the headset she finds herself in a more strange version of the VR layer.

Lain: yes it does work and I can't leave the same way that I came in.

As Lain get up and about to leave what seem to be a pop up window Pops in front of her.

As Lain continues to look around trying to make sense of the place and then seize a male envelope on the screen of on the computers she used a while ago.

Lain: could she respond that soon?

Once Lain sit down and take a look it turns out to be something else.

The Wired connection was a bit buggy do the place on memory limitations of those at work and visit Cyberia overtime with exceptions of places that are staff only.

Lain:Hmm their alway exaggeration in some parts in places like these.

Then Lain true around to see the counter of a place and the staff only door left open but as for the world outside where she sees it from looks like a very unpleasant Eternal Night with the clouds being more Angry than the ones in the real world.

Lain: so much for coming outside and I shouldn't but where else could I go?

As Lain get up to see if their something behind the door she takes a look too see if there's anything behind the counter and what looks like closed circuit camera image on the screen but they with except from one have her physical self on display while the others seem to be at other Cyberia locations.

Lain: interesting but why something close circuit go so far?

Then Lain see that insignia on the lower right of each camera fee.

Lain: coincidence?

Then she try to open one of the counter drawers but it's locked as so are the other drawers then Lain started to hear something any staff on the room and when she's about to enter it's not worth their case and reluctantly head upstairs and finds a door at the top and when opening it she sees what looks like the office but more exaggerated than what people usually expect.

Lain: I know places like these like to keep a close eye on things but this is unner-

Then Lain heard more movement going on in the shadow it does sound unpleasant somehow and then she spots a wall full of mothers and out of impulse tries to go through the thing but it won't let her.

Foreign entity detected exit unauthorized please remove the entity.

Lain: Ah how?!

Then Lain hear something crawling on the ceiling then slowly looks up and sees what looks like a vicious man-eating, insect.

The Insect:SSSSS ( hissing)

Then Lain jump out of the way as the thing drops from the ceiling as it tries to attack her.

Lain:Ok That be some nasty malware!

Then the thing make a left slash with its claws and make a scratch on Lain's right arm as she invaded its attack and fell to the floor.

Lain:Ouch! Most of the pain receptor on the thing!

Then she spot what look like a toy gun and make the grab.

LV 2 antivirus: basic antivirus to delete basic viruses.

Then Lain without hesitation Fires at the bug's head may had took up the whole clip but went down giving her much deserve relief.

Lain: felt like I was in an alien horror movie but may have a look around in case I can't come back or if that thing respawn.

As Lain looks around she sees what looks like the keys to the counter drawer but when she picks it up her hand went through them.

Lain: should have known of that.

As Lain continues to look around she sees one of the actual mother shows the door to staff only room is closed and found what looks like the control lock terminal and unlocks it and found another data log.

Data log 002:We end up learning that whatever the wire made what's in the real world like a random object can't be interacted unless it's part of the same system.

Lain: in other words those are in the same system can't be used on both sides of the coin and there another one seems to be the side effect of it

Data log 003: The full Walmart or mirror as most are calling it I used to exit the wire the only drawback is that the chair gives off stack discharge really makes whoever was on that chair really got their hair sticking up so you may need to bring a sports back with extra clothes.

Lain: Charming.

After looking around a bit she sees another wire chair and where they put the extra clothes once you unlock the staff only door and finally leaves the Wired.

Lain: Oh man it felt like waking up from a nightmare.

Once Lain take the headset off her head her hair really had a stack feel with the crackles as well.

Lain:Oh the electrical pain.

Lain sees her hair and they about function that's really sticking up like lightning rods and then the spark starts to wear it down as she is getting out of the VR layer and back to the main floor of the internet cafe and she sees it's almost Sunset outside and heads and staff only room and it's indeed unlock as she opens it and heads up the stairs.

The stuff only room.

When Lain got to the Seth only room and see it more modest and it's wired counterpart, the mothers are standards as she sees the keys to the calendar drawers but they're seeing to be keys for certain desks as well and use them to open all the locked doors of the place and found what seems to be an employee log book then takes it out see if it's anything something interesting about it.

The shower curtains to give us privacy when we dive into the wired is all right but the newer locations have more effective means to provide privacy specifically due to them having more girl workers than guys.

As for the other know other locations there's been company rumors that the wired experiments are almost upsetting to Nature like trying to make something with someone in the wire and bring it into the real world insecurity on both sides makes it more suspicious.

Lain: in that computer bug is no joke and the locations they could somewhere be in town and it could be wire chairs in other places than them.

Then Lain went back down to the main floor and open the counter drawer and she found what looks like the map to the town and what seems to be a journal with the same tag that was on the wall, then Earl shows up in his own ride with her backs in the trunk and offer her a ride to the nearby in.

Lain: like if I have any other choice in the matter.

Then Lain gets into Earl's ride and they took off when it's about to rain.

Earl: good thing at the light shower for now.

As Lain got into her room at her Inn she put her laptop on to the nearby table and plug in the lan internet cable once it comes on her friend return of a reply.

No as far as I know so far and am on a lan connection right now to the local weather somehow interfering with the Wi-Fi and one of the folks so far is not a witch hunter where you are from just a small-minded where I'm from but once my car is fixed in a few days I'll be on my way for earlier student registration.

Once Lain had send her E-mail she open up the nap she found.

A map of the town with mark point for some reason with circles on Facebook occasions inside ones that seem to connect to one place in the center of the whole town.

Lain: Was it made by a survivor?

When she looks closely at the map the circle ones are the high school the library the community center the apartment complex and the radio stations or the solid ones seems to be the other Cybran with what looks like the main data building connecting to all of them.

Lain: Now I really wants to know what's going on here.

Then Lain opens the journal see what you can find out on what really happened here.

When Lain turns to the next page of the journal it shows an illustrated description of the bug that attacked her and seems to have more on it than she thinks.

Lain:Hmm interesting and you left feel bad about even if there are some pictures missing on reading someone else's Journal but it's getting late and may have to hit the hay.

Once Lain puts away all the clothes that she brought with her into the drawers of the in room and you turn off the lights and head to bed.
