Name : Nobody recalls his real name anymore, including him. So his name has just become Boney, though he prefers to be called Bones. It just sounds better.

Presumably he was given this name for to his lanky, extremely skinny appearance. Due to age his bones are more visible through his pelt.

APPEARANCE

Basic : A tall, frail tuxedo tomcat with green eyes. He has artificial claws made of titanium, and a titanium prosthetic tail which is prehensile and whip-like.

Fur colors : black and white.
Fur length : short.

Fur texture : soft, but can be spiky if he doesn't take good care of himself.

Eye color : pale green.
Skin color : pink.

Physical build : very skinny with long limbs and narrow features.

Height : 15 inches.
Weight : 7 pounds.

Scarring : he has some light scarring around his toes where the metal claws were implanted, and scars around his rump where his tail was removed and replaced.

Basic :
Bones is your typical old man in a lot of ways. He can get grouchy pretty frequently, but also has a lot of wisdom to share. There are times when he fuels the fire more than needed. His sharp tongue often sparks arguments between himself and others. He can also be a source of peace and calmness.

Descriptive :
Bones, despite his age, still has a lot of life in him and has knowledge to give away. Years of experience is stored away in his brain, ready to be used or taught. His mind remains as alert as ever to this day. Whatever you have to say about him, he'll respond right back with something that'll probably shock you. His quick wit makes him quite the entertaining cat, especially if he gets into it with another animal. Youngsters sometimes admire him for this. Usually, he stays calm as long as the banter doesn't become hostile and he isn't provoked. If he is provoked, he'll be the first to throw out insults.

However, he is still an old guy who's been through a lot, so sometimes he just snaps and either starts arguing or distances himself so he can be grouchy alone. His patience is thin these days, and doesn't put up with much anymore. He always tells the truth, but he doesn't bother to put anything gently. If you ask how you look and he thinks you look bad, he will be sure to let you know exactly how bad.

On top of these things, he's also not easily persuaded. If he's decided he's going to do something, he's definitely going to do it, even if it's not such a good decision. You can either be on his side or against him, but you won't change his mind.

Strengths :
— His mind.
His mind and memory are his greatest assets. He was never strong, and while he used to be speedy, now he's old and his body can't take much physical exertion. He still has a very good memory and can think fast, no matter the situation.

— His height.
Being quite the tall cat, he stands higher than most other cats and some small dogs. This works as an intimidation tactic, as he easily looks down upon others.

— His prosthetic tail.
While his metal claws don't really do him any good, he's found his metal tail to be quite useful. He has full control over it and it has some abilities that a normal tail would not. He can grab small objects with it, and it can definitely be used as a defense if needed.

Weaknesses :
— His lack of strength.
Bones is quite the frail cat. He's always been skinny and delicate, and over the years his strength has dissipated. He can do the normal things such as stand and walk and such, but he can't carry anything heavier than a small kit. He would be no use in a fight either.

— His achy joints.
With age comes weak joints, and Bones is no different. His legs sometimes stiffen up. He can't really run, and if he tries he develops a limp in one of his hind legs for a day or two. The most he can do is trot.

Oddity : Prosthetic claws & tail. Both made out of titanium, he has metal claws inserted where his normal claws used to be and a long, thin metal tail. His tail is prehensile and can be used to grab something or someone. It's also very whip-like and can be used to defend himself.

BACKGROUND
________

Amount of time in lab : Roughly 8 years.

Life before lab : Bones was born to a housecat called Katey. He had three siblings, all females. His father was unknown. They all lived with the humans until they were given away to good homes. Or so they thought.

Bones was with his humans for three years. They had two terrible young children, and most of Bones' caretaking was their responsibility. Did they fulfill their duties most of the time? Nope. He often went hungry and had to escape out of the house to hunt. He had to teach himself to hunt, and that was a wild ride. On occasion he'd be spotted attempting to catch some rodent by a stray cat, who would laugh at him and walk off.
His water bowl went dry a couple times a week and wasn't refilled for a while, so he had to find a dripping faucet or a puddle outside to drink from.

He was rarely given attention, unless he did something bad. Then eyes were rolled, he was put in his kennel for a while, and then things went back to his normal. Eventually, he got tired of it and just ran away.

He was on the streets for two years in a more rural area. Nice, calm neighborhoods with not a lot of busyness. He became friends with a group of strays, but he kinda kept to himself. However, he frequently visited an old man who lived alone. The man was nice, and would lay out food for him. Bones was wary of him for quite a while and would only eat the food while he wasn't in sight. Eventually it got to the point where he was eating out of the man's hand. Slowly, he was allowed into the house as the man's permanent companion, and it became his new home.

One day years later, they got a visitor in the house. He went into a room with the old man and shut the door, so Bones has no idea what they discussed. But the next thing he knows, the old man picks him up and puts him in the carrier, and he's taken away by the visitor. He arrived that day to the labs.

Life after experimentation : His most successful experiment was conducted on him a couple years ago, he doesn't remember exactly how much time has past. That was the experiment where he got his tail, which came a few years after the claws. Ever since then they've mostly left him alone. They figure that with his age, if they attempt anything else he'll either be left with major health complications that will hinder their progress, or he'll die in the process. So he's been sort of well taken care of after he received the tail.
