Fitz was woken by the obnoxious beeping sound coming from his old alarm clock. He muttered something unintelligible, as he lazily pressed the snooze button. The sun shone brightly through the window, illuminating his face. He blinked and covered his eyes with his hands. Then he remembered the folder that Ryan had given him. If he wanted to get his job back, he better get started. He quickly took a shower and changed, then grabbed the folder and left his apartment. The walk to The Royal Café was short and beautiful. It was through a fair-sized park, which looked almost magical that time of year. The water shimmered as rays of sunlight that had crept through the clouds bounced off of the surface of a pond. The leaves were gold and orange and red, and a breeze chilled the air. It was October, Fitz's favorite month. He loved the way it looked, from the leaves on the trees to the pumpkins sat on the porches of the houses located on the other side of the park. He loves the smell, of the wind and of all the pumpkin flavored foods and drinks. He loved the feeling, of the end of summer and the start of winter. Fitz walked briskly through the park, eager to start on the project. He needed the perfect chemical; one that would keep the enemies down for long enough, but would not have any negative side effects. Only, he did not know exactly what that was. Which was why Fitz was heading to the Royal Café. He did his best thinking there. There was something about the smell of a Caramel Marshmallow Latte that helped him solve the most complex, intricate and mind-boggling problems. As the Royal Café came into view, Fitz quickened his pace. As he opened the door, he was greeted by a heavenly smell. He sighed happily and walked up to the counter. There was a girl facing away from him, her reddish-brown hair tied up.

"Pardon me," Fitz said, and the girl turned around. She had light skin and beautiful hazel eyes that sparked as she smiled at Fitz.

"How may I help you?" She said. She had a British accent, and something about her made Fitz want to smile.

"Uh, I'll take a Caramel Marshmallow Latte please." He said, and she nodded, grabbing a cup and getting to work. He sat at his favorite table by the window, away from the other people who were sipping their coffee. He pulled out the folder and started going over the papers. Even though he needed another idea, he decided that it would be good to make both the gun and something else. He started flipping through the papers, reminding himself of everything that he had been studying. He and his team had been working with many chemicals, but none of them had been powerful enough to subdue someone for more than 30 hours. He picked up the papers and walked over to get his latte. The girl from before was standing at the cash register. He handed her the money and she grabbed a marker.

"What's your name?" She asked, uncapping the marker.

"I'm Leo. Leo Fitz." He said, and she wrote his name on the cup. He tried to move the folder to his other hand, but all of the papers fell out. "Oh...I'm sorry..." Fitz muttered as he hastily tried to collect the papers.

"Oh it's quite alright." She said as she helped him. She paused as she picked up one of the papers. There were more than 20 papers in that folder. Of course she had to pick up the one that described the project. Fitz was positive that he had the worst luck in the entire world. Her eyes widened as she read the project overview. "This weapon...have you finished it yet?" She asked, as she studied the paper in her hands.

"No, we haven't found the right chemical-" Fitz said but was interrupted.

"Dendrotoxin." The girl said, looking up at him. "It will stun the enemy long enough for them to be secured, but will not have any negative sideffects. Well, besides a minor headache." She said, handing him the paper.

"Dendrotoxin!" Fitz exclaimed. "That's it! How did you...how..." He said, trying to find the right words.

"How did I figure it out so quickly? Well, I'm kind of a science geek. That's why I'm working here. So I can earn enough money to get into college." She explained. "I'm Jemma by the way. Jemma Simmons." She said, handing Fitz back the paper. He smiled and put it back in the folder. He grabbed his coffee and went back to his table. Jemma. He thought to himself. What a beautiful name.
