It was a usual day for me at the hospital
I was busy in a file when i was informed to report to the dean
I was confused as to what could the reason be
Did i  unknowingly commit a mistake?
Or was it about a new case?
A probable promotion?
Or just a transfer?
Or maybe a promotion with a transfer?
All these thoughts were roaming in my mind as i made my way to the dean's cabin
Though our dean was a sensible& understanding person by heart, if angered, he could show his worst side as well so i was hell nervous
Finally i reached the cabin& gave a knock on the door

Come in, came the reply

A-good afternoon sir
You called me?

Our dean looked up from a register he was scanning for some data probably

D-oh yes ms Mehta
Plz come& have a seat

A-thank you sir
She pulls a chair& sits

D-ms Mehta i have a new case for you
Avni becomes attentive

D-well as you probably know that the patients of xyz mental hospital are increasing &they are falling short of doctors
I wudve sent some other doc from your dept but they too, are lined up with new cases these days
Besides, you are one of the best docs in your dept so i want that you should handle the case

Avni gave it a thought & then said
Ok sir so when can i start?

Well if u wish to then from today itself, else tom is also ok
Also, u need not do double duty- i.e if, on a day it takes longer at the other hospital then u need not come back here on duty
U can stay there& check on other patients there
It will save your& our time& energy

A-ok sir
I will join from today itself

Avni leaves

At xyz mental hospital-

Avni was being guided by the nurse to sanidhya's room when she passed a room- the door was slightly open
A person cud be seen-probably a male figure
He was tied to the bed with chains on his hands& feet
He had bruises all over his arms,feet, hands& legs
Just like his bed, his facial features were also a mess

Avni tried to peep in more but the nurse interrupted-

Iska naam neil h
Dekhne se nhi lagega but sach yehi h k ye banda pagal h
Iski kitni bhi treatment karlo, koi asar nhi hone wala dawayiyo ka
But avni cud see that his eyes told a story which was a total contrary to the nurse

Brushing it off, they moved ahead

Sanidhya's room-

He was a guy of 22-23 with an expressionless face
He didnt even blink upon avni's arrival in his room
After giving some dos &donts the nurse left

Few hrs later-

Sanidhya's session for the day was over& avni was leaving for her hospital but thought to take a look at neil
She peeped through the door but her bad luck- neil had fallen asleep

Avni left, a little dejected
She didnt know why but she felt something for neil- some connection

Avni reached home& informed everyone abt the new patient she had to treat
They were happy that she was progressing in her career
They all had dinner with some chit-chat& leg pulling
Soon everyone went to bed but sleep was far away from avni
She was thinking abt neil-
She thought that more than treatment, he needed love,care& a little bit of someone's company
She decided to do something abt it the next day& dozed off to sleep

I know its a short update but it was a build up
