"I just don't know, B/F/N... I know he's in Finland playing for the States and he's their captain....I just miss him so much." I sighed, listening to the groaning from her on the end. 

"When does the WJCs end again?" She groaned, not even bothered least about the situation. 

"January 5th, B/F/N...So it's not even over for another 6 days! Oh, did you forget what today was, B/F/N?" 

"Oh crap, let me guess...It's your birthday today, right?" 

"And bingo was his name-o! He hasn't even texted me a happy birthday wish or anything. Not even a call!" 

"He's probably busy preparing for the Denmark game that's tomorrow, who knows? Hey, I'll pick you up for your birthday party/dinner at 7:45 SHARP." 

And just like that, the call was cut off, causing me to be confused. 

Why did she cut the call on me all of a sudden? Was she plotting something for me or what? Hey, it's my birthday, I shouldn't have these negative thoughts in my mind!

I looked up at the clock, which read 7:00. Crap. I only had 45 minutes to get ready!

 Walking upstairs, I immediately walked into the en suite in the master bedroom that Zach and I share. I took a quick shower and decided to wear something fancy yet casual but go natural for makeup. Looking at my reflection in the mirror for the last time, I grabbed a diamond necklace that had a heart pendant which Zach gave me for our anniversary along with a few gold bracelets. 

I walked back into the bedroom, grabbing my black-and-white clutch wallet and slipped on my 4-inch heels that Zach always loved. I slid down the stairs in calm and cool fashion, just as the doorbell rang. 

Running over to the door while clobbering the hardwood floor in these killer heels, I found B/F/N standing there with a look of relief. I turned off the lights and locked the door as I went out the door. 

"Thank god you finally came! I was about to knock on the door and scream so loud that your neighbors might even file for noise complaint!" B/F/N laughed, skipping to the car while she was wearing a big ol' smile on her face. "Ooh, and my gift for you is back at the restaurant...You are really going to love it, trust me!" 

"What did you get me?" I smirked, getting into the passenger seat as she closed the door and walked over to the driver's seat, getting the car ready. 

"I can't tell you or it's going to ruin the secret! Here, can you wear this until we get in there?" B/F/N smirked, handing me a blindfold. 

I wore the blindfold and as soon as I gave her the 'thumbs up', she started to drive the car. 

We got there 15 minutes later and she left me in the car just for inspection. I heard the passenger door open and felt someone grab me into the restaurant. 

"Who the hell just brought me in here!?" I yelled out, trying to figure out the culprit. 

"Okay, okay! Take off the blindfold and you can open your eyes!" I heard B/F/N yell and I did what she told me to and my eyes widened all of a sudden. 

Right in front of me was my boyfriend, Zach Werenski in a handsome tux and had a big smile. 

"I heard you missed me, sweetcake..." Zach chuckled, kissing my forehead. "And I don't blame ya, I missed you too." 

"Zach...What are you doing....How did you?" My mind was drawing a blank for words, still not overcoming the shock. 

"B/F/N arranged for me to fly me out here for the next 3 days and then I have to fly back out..." Zach smiled, grabbing my hands. "But, you're coming along with me!" 

"Really? Wow, this might be the best birthday I've ever had!" 

"Hey I don't blame you, but can we get to the dinner? I'm starving, especially after being on a flight from Finland to Michigan and not eating that airplane food."
