An air horn sounds loudly. The black screen cuts to an offramp being lowered on the ship bearing Blake Belladonna and you in the disguise to allow passengers to disembark. The town has many small buildings and homes set among dunes and palm trees. The town bell that has been ringing is shown in its belfry.
You and Blake make their way from the deck to the offramp. She proceeds without pause while you stops to look at the town.
You: lovely
Several Faunus in summer wear meander casually at the dock, some waiting for friends or family among the new arrivals. The dock is also a commercial area, with mobile kiosks selling food and other wares. It is a relaxed atmosphere on a sunny day.
You are looking around while you and Blake disembark and walk through the Market area together
You: I've never seen so many Faunus in one place
Blake: This is the one place everyone can feel safe, no matter who or what they are.
You: sure is crowded
Blake: Yes. Yes, it is.
Star: (dodging a Faunus carrying a box) Is it always so... cramped?
Blake: Well, when you try and take an entire species and put them on an island that's two-thirds desert, yeah, it tends to be cramped.
You: but don't you have space in the desert
Blake: It's not like the desert in Vacuo. The wildlife here is more dangerous than most other regions.
You: So, they give you a terrible island, in the corner of Remnant, to try and shut you up.
Blake: That's a pretty good summary, yeah.
You: but at least you make the best of it
She smiles at your optimism and the both of your continued your walk.
The two pause in their walk to look at the view of the town the road affords. The road they are on goes downhill and to the side, bordered by palm trees and homes that have either canvas or wood roofs. The vista of palm trees spreads out to the edge of mountainous dunes in the distance. Right in the middle of all this is a large house with an open courtyard that the road appears to lead directly to. The house is at least three stories and is the only building in the whole area with a sophisticated roof.
(Ignore sun and replace him with you)
You: it's... beautiful
Blake: This, is Kuo Kuan.
You, why would want to leave this
Blake: That's not the point, y/n! We asked to be equal, to be treated just like everyone else! Instead, we were given an island and told to make do. So we did the best we could. We came together and we made a home where any Faunus could feel welcome. But this island, this town, will always be a reminder that we're still not equal. (lowering her face) That we're still second-class citizens.
You: (putting your hand on her shoulder) well, I feel at home
Blake: Alright, time to go home.
You moved her closer to you and moving your hand on her other shoulder pulling her in
You: So which ones yours? Can you see it from here?
Blake: kind of.
You: is it... that one
Pointing to a random house
You: ot that one... love that paint job, or-
You silent until you realised something, you looked at your finger then pointed at the big one
Blake: It's... that one
You stare for a second before pointing your finger at her with a questioning expression. Blake nods. You look at her for a beat before taking your arm off her and stepping back. You covers the sides of your head and crouch a bit, staring wide-eyed at the house and making a comical, amazed noise.
Your mind: I can handle her being a faunus, but being the Menagerie chief's daughter ... I'm terrified
(Later)
Blake: I don't understand why you have... that
You: it's a gift, and it's lovely
You summoned one of your rings earlier and got a cat statue
Blake: well, I guess it's pretty
Blake and you, while carrying the statue walk up the stone steps to the front door of the house you shaking. Blake hesitates when she moves to use the knocker.
You: s-something wrong
Blake: I um... it's just been a long time since I've seen my parents.
You: well you came all this way.
Blake takes a quick breath for courage and bangs the door knocker. It makes a loud, heavy, resonating sound on the large door. Sun stares up, stepping back while Blake politely backs away from the door a few paces.
You: okay that's not intimidating
Both you and Blake give a start at the sound of the door being opened and a short, female cat Faunus with rings in her ears is behind it.
Looking around at the visitors. Her ears perk and she moves the door out of the way so she can step forward when she recognizes her daughter.
K: (almost in disbelief) Blake?
Blake: (awkwardly lifting her arm in greeting) Hi, mom.
The mother of Blake steps forward and hugs her daughter.
K: My baby girl.
Blake hesitates, uncertain for a moment, before her face gentles into a smile and she hugs her mother back.
They stand in front of open doorway. From inside the house, footsteps come closer and a shadow falls onto the carpeted entryway. Blake mom lets go of Blake and turns behind her at the sound of a voice.
G: Kali? who is it?
A big brawling woman with a cloak, black eyes, and you believe to be a panther Faunus
She stand with her hands on his hips, waiting to greet the visitor. Her quizzical expression changes to wide-eyed surprise, before her hands, shoulders, and face all fall in a clear, emotional reaction to the sight of her daughter come home.
You see this and smile, pleased at Blake's welcome as you turn to look at how she's taking it. Blake has her hands clasped in front of her, awaiting her father's reaction. Kali has not let go, with her hands supportively on Blake's shoulder and arm.
Ghira says nothing, but smiles, clearly happy. Blake smiles back, relieved. She and you exchange sideways glances.
(Your point of view)
Later we got acquainted and sat on the floor at a square table, I put the statue on the side of me as Kali sets down her cup on the table.
Kali: We were horrified when we heard the news. The Kingdom of Vale isn't perfect, but it certainly didn't deserve what happened. Oh, we were both so worried.
Ghira: Please, I knew she'd be fine!
Kali: (scoffing) That isn't the slightest bit true. You should have seen her pacing.
You: you had nothing to worry about, she is an excellent fighter and excellent strategist
Blake smiles but hides it when she takes a sip of her cup. Ghira Then eyes me up and down suspiciously
Ghira: and what do you think of her fighting tactics
I turn to my host calm and collected but terrified on the inside
You: well, I believe she is athletically gifted and as a fellow fighter, I believe she was taught well form the best
Kali: (leaning in to ask quietly) Why is he here again?
You: and I know where she gets her looks and strength
Blake: he...is a close friend and followed me home
Kali: I see.
You: and Blake gets her wisdom from you Mrs Ghira Belladonna
as all three Belladonnas watch me and wait for me to say more or stop. I then grabbed the pot and poured more tea in my cup
You: and what lovely tea Mrs Kali Belladonna and on our first meet I must of mistaken you for Blake's sister
Kali: (not quite quietly enough for an aside) I like him.
Blake: Mom!
Kali: and I must say, what a lovely gift
You: hand carved, you see where I come from we believe in all sorts of gods, not just the four siblings, this one is known as Bastet the god of the home, domesticity, women's secrets, cats, fertility, and childbirth. And with these statues they will protect you from evil spirits or diseases associated with women or children, just put it on your window sill
Ghira: we don't beliv-
She was cut of by an elbow to the arm by her wife who gives a glare also to Ghira
Kali: it's a wonderful gift
Then loud sound of the front door knocker resonates, catching everyone's attention.
Ghira: Darn it, I completely forgot about the meeting!
Ghira hits her fist onto the table and Kali quickly covers it with her hand.
Kali: Ghira...
Ghira: Give me a moment.
She gets up and walks out.
Blake: Is everything okay?
Kali: Yes, dear, just poor timing. She can reschedule. It's just been hard dealing with them lately.
Blake: Dealing with who?
Kali: (sipping) Hmm? The White Fang.
You & Blake: (rising to our feet) WHAT?!
Blake and I rush to the door, where Ghira is speaking with two fox Faunus each of them identical only one has a tail the other ears
The two visitors maintain respectful, formal postures, keeping their hands clasped before them.
Blake: mom!
Ghira: Blake, what's wrong?
C: Miss Belladonna.
F: We had no idea you'd returned.
Every time either one of the two brothers speaks, they gesture with their hands and end with clasping their hands before their chests again.
Blake: What are you doing talking to these people?
Ghira: This is Corsac and Fennec Albain. They represent the White Fang here in Menagerie now.
You: they're here to?!
Fennec: Young man, I'm not sure what you've heard of our organization, but I can assure you, we're not nearly as ferocious as the media would have you believe.
Blake: What we've heard? We've seen firsthand. Your fanatics slaughtered people!
Ghira: What is she talking about?
Corsac: Precisely what we came to discuss with you, Your Grace.
Kali: (approaching) Is everything alright?
You: wait, you don't know about these
Ghira: (dangerously) Know what?
Blake: The White Fang was at the Fall of Beacon. They attacked innocent civilians and they released Grimm into the school.
There is a brief silence. Fennec makes an innocent, sideways glance at his brother. Ghira slowly turns to face the two White Fang representatives.
Ghira: Is this true?
Fennec: Sadly, Your Grace, it is.
Blake: Don't act like you're s—
Ghira: That's enough! (to the Albains) Explain yourselves.
Corsac: Though it pains us to admit, it has become apparent that the Vale branch of the White Fang is no longer operating under orders of High Leader Khan. Rather, they've elected to follow the rule of one Adam Taurus and his Sister Eve. I believe you're all familiar with the young adept and his... extreme philosophies while Eve has the same but less extreme and ruthless.
You: Beacon isn't the first time the Fang started shooting up Vale
Fennec: The High Council had their suspicions of a splinter group, but they could prove nothing until this latest incident.
Blake: "Incident"? People are dead!
Corsac: And it is a tragedy.
Fennec: Your Grace, we came to assure you that Brother Taurus and his followers do not represent the will of the White Fang we belive sister Taurus might be more... suitable.
Ghira: And how can I be sure of that?
Corsac: We understand if you bear any skepticism towards these claims. The White Fang's tactics are admittedly, more aggressive since you stepped down as High Leader and became Chieftain of Menagerie. But this, this is no way to make our message heard.
Fennec: We have ample documentation from the council meeting, as well as several strategies to apprehend and punish these strays if you care to review them.
Ghira: I will, but another day. I'd like some time to reconnect with my daughter.
Corsac: But of course, Your Grace.
Fennec: We completely understand. It was a pleasure to see you again, young Blake.
Corsac: We were saddened when we heard of your departure from the White Fang, but understand if you can no longer support our cause.
Fennec: It is a wearying fight, after all.
Blake: Who says I'm done fighting?
Corsac: Hmm... If you ever do wish to return, you need merely come find us.
Fennec: Sister Ilia would be elated.
Ghira: Goodbye, gentlemen.
She firmly closes the door on them. Kali moves to stand closer and face her wife while Blake walks off.
You: don't like them one bit
Ghira:... agreed
Outside, the two brothers descend the steps, perfectly in sync and their formally clasped hands. Corsac, however, is now using the prayer posture that Fennec had been using all along.
Fennec: An interesting development, wouldn't you say?
Corsac: Interesting indeed.
Fennec: So, shall we inform Brother Adam?
Corsac: Oh, we shall and keep this from sister Eve.
They exchange unsettling grins.
(Meanwhile)
Back at the tavern in Higanbana, the waitress is scrubbing the floor. The sound of approaching footsteps cease when a voice addresses her, making the waitress look up.
Tyrian Callows: Excuse me. (licking lips) I was hoping you could... help me find some people.
Tyrian laughs maniacally as the camera fades to black, showing only his eyes.
(Back at Menagerie)
You are on the couch reading. Earlier Blake said she was going out with her mother to reconnect and gone out fishing, leaving you and Ghira alone, speaking of which, Ghira walks in and sat next to you. In an awkward silence she started the conversation
Ghira: Blake tells me you are quite the fighter, I want to know if that's true
You: well, if you want, we can have a match
Ghira: well, let's begin
(Later)
We are outside in the shining sun, we are on a field which was next to the house, I was looking at Ghira who was at the other side of the field with no weapon
You: no weapon?
Ghira: my skin can handle anything, I'm more of an hands on kind of girl
You: alright, let's if you handle this
I then summoned a scythe with red and black colouring four spikes at the blade two long and two short, a striped shaft and a fire symbol at the middle
Ghira looked at it, intrigued at my power, until looking at me...
Ghira: gotcha
I look at her confused, until realizing something
You: you know who I am
Ghira: yes, and if I remember from the reports in Vale your a human, so explain the horns
I then get scared and worried, the looked down in worry
You: there fakes I made, I brought them so I wouldn't be pointed out as the only human on the island, and you'd be disappointed in your daughters for choosing to date a human
Ghira then comes over to me with a serious look and puts a hand on my shoulder, then trails her hand up to my cheek then the top my of my head before gently pulling them off with the ears. Her serious look the changes to a...a smile
Ghira: Blake is my daughter, if it's her choice, do you love my daughter
You: I do, I'd give my soul to save her's
Ghira: good, now how about that fight
She puts the counterfeits back on me, turns and I get confused
You: you just found out I'm human, why are you not mad
Ghira: your secrets safe with me, Blake loves you and I understand about the only human on the island thing, you are safe with us
You: thanks
She smiles, then gets a determined look and I spin the scythe getting ready and jumped at her
She grabbed the hilt near my hands and swings it with me back, I land back on my feet
Ghira: You got moves
You: really, you know this one
I then get six throwing stars that look like butterfly's in one hand
You: the seven deadly butterfly's of shoulin 1! 2! 3! 4! 6!
As I yelled the numbers I threw them at Ghira who swipes them away while charging at me
Ghira: I don't need a deadly butterfly to get me and I also heard that you can summon creatures, I'm curious what that one can do
You: alright
I tap the ground two times and an orb rises out of the ground, it then opens revealing a giant cat like wrestler, giant fists and a fire belt
He grins and roars causing a fire to around him then smoke
You: his name is incineroar
Ghira: alright, fire I can a handle few burns
They both rushed at eachother and locked fists they both shake at eachother then Ghira throws Incineroar away but catched himself, then both his fists light up with fire the started to spin
The fire tornado gets close to Ghira, but Ghira catches it while it kept on spinning. Sue then spun him before throwing him across the field he then stops and punches both his fists together
You: tired
Ghira: Please, I cab handle steam
The giant cat then growls and flexed then bursts in flames
The giant cat charges at Ghira but Ghira catches both his arms burning her palms but managed to swing him around her and threw him in the air, eventually he came down and was met with a punch in the muzzle he then flew and landed next to I, I cleared the dust to see him knocked out, and orb came around him and then popped with incineroar.
I look at Ghira who was panting and had sweat dripping down and was
Ghira tired: now, for you
You: really, but a true fighter, would've counted all seven butterfly's
Ghira: huh, I did
She then counted
You: seven
Then a red butterfly with black spots came
She tried to swat it away but the butterfly gets caught by a throwing star and dies when it strikes the tree. Ghira was about to fall but I caught her and put her arm on my shoulder
You: come on lets get you inside
Ghira looks at me and smiles.
Ghira: yeah, let's go in
I carried her back to the house to get her better
(Later)
You were dabbing her scorches with disinfectant. Until the sound of the door opens, you two looked to see Blake and Kali back from there fishing trip and behind them, they were dragging the largest tuna you have ever seen
You: where the hell did you get that.
Blake looks to her mother who mearly gives a smirk.
Blake: we won't tell you our little secret.
They drag it onto a table and set it up ready to cut.
Ghira gets with a groan getting the attention of the two Faunus.
Kali: dear, are you alright.
Ghira: yes, just this boy, hits like a dust infused Borbatusk.
You: sorry
Ghira: it's okay
You: you know, let me cut this animal, it's the least I could do.
You the summon a green scythe
you stuck it to the ground and a large bipedal insect with Scythes for hands appears
It flies up and zigzagged across the fish in a quick motion then falls apart in small bite sized pieces.
Scyther flies back down and gives a bow.
Kali: thank you
He fades away in a swarm of cicadas which fly out the window.
Ghira: you want any, y/n
You: no thanks, I'm not big fan of it.
Ghira shrugs and started to cook the fish.
(Later)
Everyone was having the now Cooked meal, you having chicken. Blake takes a bite but bites into something. She pulls it out revealing to be a bottle cap. She looks at it and sighs
Your mind: when are we going to get back together
