I end up walking with the guy in the grey hoodie to lunch. He seems pretty chill, and during Music class we started getting along more, and now I even know a nickname; Hoodie. Although... It doesn't seem like anybody knows his real name, which is really weird. Its like this kid fell from the sky or something. He's so different. He's like a circle trying to fit into one of those square holes in those shape cubes we all played with as young kids. Who knows... Maybe some day he'll break the hole and get inside with a bit of damage. Suddenly, a huge jock boy walks up to us in the middle of the lunch room. He asks Hoodie if he's still sick and he looks really confused. So am I. "Hey, kid. Are you still feeling sick?" Does Hoodie already have friends? The jock then asks why Hoodie won't talk to him, "Kid, why won't you just speak to me?" and I tell the Jock that Hoodie actually can't speak. "Um, sorry. He actually can't speak." The Jock then laughs it off, then asking if I was serious. "Are you actually serious?" "Yes!" I yelled at him. He then says "Oh, sorry,"and then he introduces himself as Bruce. "My name is Bruce, by the way." The name is fitting for such a giant, honestly. Suddenly from afar, I hear someone yell for Hoodie. "Hoodie!" Then a familiar guy in a black shirt appears, shocked suddenly. "Alisa!?" he yells in confusion. He takes a step back, but then Hoodie waves to the oh-so-edgy Cole. Its honestly two hundred percent more awkward with him around. Cole asks Hoodie if Jock and I are friends of his, and he nods slowly, not absolutely sure. "Hey, Hoodie. Is Alisa and this guy your friend?" I say that he is, "I consider him a friend." and then Cole gives Hoodie the jealous stare. Oh my gosh, I don't need this crap so early in the year! Bruce then says "I'm an acquaintance of Hoodie-" but before he could finish Cole begins asking for Hoodie to sit with him. "Hey Hoodie, wanna sit with me today?" Bruce starts sweating, things getting tension filled. I then interject, saying "He was gonna sit with me!" The words shock Cole a lot, and he even shivers. He hasn't changed at all. We begin arguing, and Bruce tries to break us up. But as we were bickering, Hoodie disappeared. We all stopped, then looking around the room for him. He was sitting at the farthest table next to the wall, by himself... He had his hoodie over his head and his head was down. I think we made him mad or something. I decide to walk down there, Cole following, then Bruce. We all sit down at that table, Cole beside him, Bruce beside me, and myself across from Hoodie. We all asked if he was okay in different ways, but he just shook his head and eventually wrote sorry on a torn piece of paper. I then look to Cole and Bruce after a moment of thinking. "I think Hoodie wants to be alone. Will you all go with me?" I asked if we should all just leave him alone for now. Bruce and I accepted, but Cole HAD to be difficult. And things were only getting worse. The Wasp showed up, with one of his cronies. I asked what they all wanted, but Bruce beat me to it. He threatened to flatten them both if they were stupid, and Cole sighed to the sight of the Wasp. They started asking "Why were you causing a scene in the middle of MY cafeteria." We all laughed at that, and Hoodie even started bouncing up and down under his hoodie, like a silent laugh. It was honestly kind of cute. I could hear little spats of air. His crony suggested just leaving, and that they weren't worth it, but the Wasp in his dumb Polo shirt started his stupid speech about how his father was the Principle, which is not confirmed. "You all know that I can just get my dad to deal with you all right now!" Eventually, Bruce got tired of it and just lightly smacked the Wasp in the forehead, as if he was trying to swat and squish it. "Hey!" It angered them, but they just fleed like the cowards they were. We looked back to Hoodie's seat to see it was empty. We thought he fled again, but we saw the kitchen bar where he was getting food. "Crap, I forgot all about food." Cole says. But we all just watched as he struggled to ask for foodstuff. It was honestly really interesting and just kind of eye-catching. He eventually pulled out his small notebook, writing in it and showing it to the cooking lady. She was kind of old, and she started laughing and running her rubber gloved hands through his hair. I smiled, leaning on my hand while waiting. This kid really was interesting.
