The next morning, Horsekit opened her eyes to someone jostling her.

"Horsekit, Horsekit!" Hissed a voice. The jostling continued harder. Horsekit  opened her eyes. "Wwwwhhhhaaatttt??"  She growled. She glared at Redkit, who was jostling her.

"Grindkit and I were playing 'Mossball' and Grindkit knocked the ball over the camp wall. We need to go get it. Will you come?" Redkit whispered harshly. Behind him, Grindkit pipped up, "Sorry!"

"Ugh, okay. Let's go." Horsekit meowed, arching her back in a stretch. "Grindkit, nice aim," She started out the Nursery.

"Well, I tried to aim!" Grindkit tried to defend himself, dismayed.

Horsekit snickered.

"Hey, look! I found a hole in the wall!" Redkit hissed loudly. Horsekit and Grindkit quickly ran to Redkit.

As he said, there was a small hole in the gorge wall.

"Yeah, it's in the wall protecting the gorge," Horsekit confirmed.

Horsekit squeezed her tiny body into the hole, and after a little bit of pushing, she got through to the other side. Soon, Grindkit and Redkit got through too.

This was the kits' first time out of the camp. It was so big and scary. Horsekit started staring at the huge trees and the big leaves and the noises in the night...

"Found it!"

"Good job, Redkit!" Grindkit congratulated his brother on finding the mossball as the two padded to their sister.

"Well, we can go back in the camp now–" Grindkit began worriedly.

"Wanna explore?" Redkit interrupted. "I mean, this is our only chance out of the camp until we're apprentices, so..." He looked excited.

"Sure," Horsekit shrugged. Grindkit hissed in disappointment. He was crouching down in hate of the idea.

The kits started to walk away from the camp, in awe. It was so big! It was so much bigger than the camp! There was no way that clans could get into fights over territory if the forest was this big!

"So, what do you want your warrior's name to be?" Asked Grindkit, spoiling the silence.

"I want mine to be Redtooth, because my teeth would be red in my enemy's blood," Hissed Redkit, baring his teeth. The other kits took a step away from him in fear.

"Okkkaayyy. I want mine to be Horsepelt, because it just sounds good." Horsekit nodded in approval.

"Mine will be Grindclaw, because every night, I will grind my claws from my enemy's... bones!" Grindkit yelled, happily. He sprung on Horsekit, who squealed in delight. The three kits got into a tussle and laughed.

They soon stopped as they heard an owl. They got scared and Grindkit said it for all of them, "I wanna go home!"

"Okay, um, let's go now," Redkit actually said. And he was the brave one! The kits agreed and began the long trek back to camp.

Suddenly, there was a low growl. The kits turned around, frightened. It happened again.
Their fur started to bristle up in fear.

And then it jumped out of the bushes onto Redkit. Oh no... thought Horsekit.

Fox.
