On her motorcycle, a human girl by the name of Damari is traveling to college. When she gets there, she parks her motorcycle and carries the cake-filled tiny container while holding on to the straps of her black Kate Spade backpack, which contained everything she needed. A female smirking suddenly walks over to her.

"Hey, Dummy! Whatcha eatin'? A puke bun?" she cackled.

Damari is not in the mood for this and decided to just answer her.

"It's not a bun, Maggie. It's Red Velvet cake. My favorite. My mom baked it for me because it's my 25th birthday." she said, looking happy.

Maggie was surprised for a second.

"Oh, happy birthday. Give me that!"

She then proceeds to try and take it from her. Damari immediately fought back and tried to take her container back.

"Hey! Get your own baker mom!"

"Hey, Margot!"

They turned to see a black woman with black long hair, wearing red shirt, jeans, and dark grey shoes, with an orange Mohawk man playing guitar rock song behind her.

"Marceline!" Damari smiled to see her best friend.

"Leave her alone! Also, nice guitar solo, Flame." Marceline said.

"Yeah!" Flame grinned, giving her thumbs up.

"Oh, yeah? Or else what?" Maggie glared.

Marceline approached her with a smirk.

"Or else you can forget coming to my awesome house party next week. It'll be really sad when the whole class is enjoying the pool and my guitar performance without you."

Maggie immediately turns nervous and gets friendly.

"Aw, jeez, Marcy. I was just playin'. Here." she said, shoving the container back to Damari and walking away.

"Thanks, dude." Damari said.

"No worries. You just gotta speak their language. But never mind that. Happy birthday, girl!!"

Both of them squealed and hugged each other.

"Yes!" Damari cheered.

Marceline then takes out a red design pouch that's decorated creatively with a heart barrette along with red heart, blue spade, and green clover attached to the chains, and a black belt attached with the pouch.

Damari gasps and takes it, recognizing it.

"No way! How'd you—?"

"I knew you've been eyeing it whenever we go shopping together. I even overheard you say 'This bag is so cute! It's a little gothic-punk, so it would look good with my normal clothes. I can put on a belt and keep my personal things in it. Oh, but I also want a new barrette.'" Marceline explained, making Damari blush in embarrassment.

"Geez, I didn't think you'd hear that. But... thank you. This is exactly the one I wanted." Damari said before hugging her friend.

"No problem." Marceline chuckled, hugging back.

"Did I hear it's someone's birthday?"

They turned to see a woman with bright pink skin and pink long hair, wearing long dark pink jacket with a dark red turtleneck underneath, light brown pants, and dark pink and white boots.

"Bonnie!" Damari smiled, pulling away from Marceline and hugging Bonnie instead.

"Happy birthday, Damari!" Bonnie chuckled, hugging back.

"Hey, Bon-Bon." Marceline smiled, walking over.

Her and Bonnie gave each other a quick kiss on the lips, making Damari gag and dramatically went limp in Bonnie's grasp. This made the two girls giggle as Bonnie lightly shook Damari, who instantly gets up.

"Good thing I too have a gift for you, and I know you're going to love it."

Damari looks eager to know what her friend got for her. Bonnie pulled out a newspaper that was wrapped around something as she unwrapped it. Damari couldn't believe what she just saw. The Coraline doll!

"I managed to find the exact replica of the Coraline doll from the movie. It took me a while to get one while taking extra shifts." Bonnie explained, looking proud.

"Huh, no wonder I couldn't find you." Marceline said.

Damari immediately hugged her Coraline doll.

"Yes! This is the one! Thank you, Bonnie! Thank you!"

"I mean, we all have watched Coraline movie when we were kids, so it's no surprise you're a little bit of a fan." Marceline teased, making Damari pout.

"Whatever."

"And it's not just a doll. I think you might recognize these." Bonnie said.

Her pink haired friend then took out two pairs of black button earrings.

Damari squealed and hugged her friend again. She takes it from Bonnie and puts them on, loving the design.

"I love it. Best birthday gift ever. But you two are my birthday gifts."

"Aww!" Bonnie and Marceline cooed, hugging Damari again.

Their moment was cut short by the bell ringing, meaning it's time for them to head to class.

"Buzzkill." Marceline said, blowing raspberry.

"Whelp, our career is important." Damari reminded.

"You're still onto the whole designing clothes and stuff?" Marceline asked.

"Yeah. I've been wanting to design things ever since I watched that movie Coraline and others that involve Laika."

"Well, I hope you'll be able to design mine." Bonnie chuckled. "I've been baking for a long time to make my own baking shop."

"Sweet. You gotta make more of that delicious gingerbread you've made." Marceline said.

"I look forward to see your own version of my birthday cake." Damari added with a sheepish smile.

"Hehe, I will."

"I really do need to become a guitar rockstar, so I can't complain about college. Whelp, see you guys after this. We gotta celebrate our girl's birthday." Marceline said and then walked away.

Damari smiled and headed inside college along with Bonnie.

After classes are complete, the three quickly make their way to their individual vehicles. Damari heads to her motorcycle, while Marceline and Bonnie head to Marceline's van. The girls chuckle as they leave college in their car. They bought their own cards so they could play games, and they head over to Dave and Busters. Together, they played Mario Kart DX, Connect 4, Injustice (Damari's particular favorite), Skeeter Ball, Luigi's Mansion, Jurassic World VR attraction, and finally, Dance Dance Revolution, which they both enjoy the most. As they performed their freestyles, the trio followed the steps together. They were able to complete the dance, and they did it with grace.

"Whoo! Top score." Damari cheered before sighing. "Phew!"

"Heck, yeah! Check out all these tickets! Let's go!" Marceline said, looking at her card and heading over to the machine to see how much tickers she got.

Damari and Bonnie followed suit as Bonnie giggled. The two then head to the reward area where Damari picked out two figurines from FNAF that she had always wanted, Toy Chica and Montgomery Gator, as well as a large plush of Knuckles the Echidna and the Injustice cards she had accumulated from the arcade. While Bonnie blushes and is moved by Marceline's thoughtful gesture, the latter presented Bonnie a large plush of Pikachu that she had won. Bonnie also won a big black and monstrous plush of Among Us and presented it to Marceline, who cooed at her.

Following that, they all made their way to Starbucks, where they each purchased a drink and sat down to enjoy it together. Damari sighs at the flavor of her Candy Corn Frappuccino.

"Mmmm.. Candy corn..."

Suddenly, she heard her phone chimes.

"Huh?"

She looks at her phone. There are two messages from her mom; both say "Emergency!" and "Come over to our house in 15 minutes!".

"Huh? Emergency??" Damari questioned.

At the same time, Bonnie received a message from Damari's parents and immediately gets up.

"Oh, shoot. I gotta go. Boss needs me. I'll see you soon." Bonnie said, winking secretly at Marceline.

Marceline gets the message and winks back while Damari looks confused.

"But I thought you're free..."

Bonnie already left the coffee shop while waving them. Marceline finishes her drink and proceeds to push Damari out, who also finishes her drink.

"Come on. Let's keep this party train rollin'. Choo-choo!"

"Huh? But what about Bonnie?"

"Oh, she'll catch up. Come on, this is your 25th birthday. You only get one of these. So let's make it the best birthday in the history of birthdays. By going shopping! What do you say?" Marceline said, wrapping her arm around Damari.

Damari thinks for a moment and then nods.

"Okay, I guess I could go for a shop and then we head over to my parents place. It sounds like they need help."

Damari and Marceline then exit the coffee shop holding hands.

"Boom! I knew you'd change your mind." Marceline smiled.

Damari and Marceline search about, and then they find themselves in a secondhand store. Damari sees a lovely ring as they search. She wraps the band around her right fourth finger without knowing it was a 26 carat diamond ring.

She looks at the price and decides it's reasonable. When she notices something sparkling, she continues to stare. She followed the light till she came upon a black music box with skull and demon decorations and a large pentagram on top of the cover with a keyhole in it. She grabs it out of curiosity and looks at the box. She is impressed by how gothic they appear. When she looks at it, she sees seven different colored gems—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink—and wonders what was within.

"Hmm... Looks pretty." she said to herself, heading over to the counter where the lady is standing behind the cashier register. "Hi. I would like to buy this ring and this cool looking chest."

Before examining the chest, the woman examines a ring and nods. She gives it a strange look and considers where it originated. Before returning to Marceline, who is looking at a guitar pick with a skull face, the cashier lady shrugs it off, believing it was nothing. She told Damari how much, and she joyfully paid it.

"Oh, finished already?" Marceline asked.

"Yeah, I didn't see anything interesting except these two." Damari said, showing off the things she bought.

"Nice. I'm gonna go buy this and then we go."

Marceline approaches the same cashier woman. Little did Damari know, when she placed the treasure into her Kate Spade backpack, the gems on the chest began to shine briefly before going out. They departed towards Damari's parents' house, where all the lights were off, after Marceline finished paying. Damari gets her keys out and opens it before leading Marceline inside. Lights turned on, and party poppers were fired out just as Marceline shut the door behind them.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAMARI!!" everyone shouted in unison.

Damari was shocked to see all of her family and friends are here.

"Surprise!!" Marceline cheered.

"Our big girl has truly grown!" Damari's mom said, kissing both of her cheeks.

"And here's your own birthday cake!" Bonnie said, revealing a large red velvet cake with a "Happy Birthday, Damari" on it lit with candles.

Damari plays games, interacts with everyone, eats, and dances to the music that DJ Flame plays as she enjoys her birthday with them all. Opening her presents and receiving all the birthday girl needs, especially spending time with all the people she loves and cares.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She waved goodbye to her family and friends as it quickly became nighttime. She cautiously mounted her motorcycle after securing the bag of food that was sealed and covered in the containers to it. As she makes her way to the expressway, Damari scans the area from the roadside. When a large truck passes her in front, obstructing her view, she continues to drive normally. She scans the area in search of a way around it. As she moves forward, she notices a tiny gap through which she can pass the truck and the ramp. Before landing in front of the vehicle and continuing to drive away, Damari made sure the wheels were on the ramp as she passed by, shocking the truck driver. Before accelerating, she made care to give the peace sign.
Before meeting her Christian mother, who helped him become a better person and a loving dad, her father taught her how to ride a motorbike while he was a member of the gang. She adored her parents, and she especially enjoyed learning about their romance. A large sign she sees indicates that she will soon be returning home. She notices something that is black and white and moving slowly, but it turns out to be an injured creature lying on the ground.
Damari nearly ran over it before stopping her motorcycle, turning around, and returning to the area where she had seen it. She pulled onto the shoulder lane and hurried over to where the creature was lying in the road. As she tries to save the poor creature, Damari waved at the drivers to halt and go around.
"Oh, my God..." Damari gasped.
She sees it's a small black and white cat with white spots on the tip of its ears and tail, the spots on the ears forming a heart when close together. It has scruffy fur with a red collar on. The cat's eyes are closed, but you can see red stains on its fur and some blood dripping from them as it whimpers in anguish. When drivers honk at Damari, she carefully picks up a cat and walks over to her motorcycle while dodging them. She held a cat in one hand and sat back down on her motorcycle before taking off.
Thankfully, she could park inside her garage before the garage door shuts behind her because it wasn't too far from her house. She swiftly unlocks the door after getting off her motorcycle and moves toward the restroom. Before turning on the water to make sure it's warm, Damari puts a cat in the tub and dashes over to collect her first aid bag. She starts giving it a bath once it's warm, taking care to protect its wounds.
She eventually stops the water and sets the cat on the counter next to the mirror while carrying it with a towel. She uses a towel and hair dryer to dry it off before applying cotton to the wounds to clean them. She then applies a lotion to each incision before bandaging them. She treats the cat, then takes it to her bedroom, where she lays it on her bed and covers it with a blanket. Damari grinned as she put the food containers in her refrigerator and went back to her room, where the cat was still sleeping, to gather her belongings.
She cheerfully sets a Coraline doll and a weird music box onto her counter where her lamp is adjacent to her bed as she takes out her belongings that are her birthday presents and places them either on the shelf or on her desk. She then softly sits down on the bed next to the sleeping cat after changing into her pajamas. Before dozing off, Damari tenderly kisses the cat on the head. The seven stones on the box started flashing brilliantly as she slept, briefly illuminating the room before it died down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The alarm goes off the following morning, waking her up, and she goes to switch it off. Damari nearly jumped when she opened her eyes to find the cat already awake and staring at her. The fact that the cat has one eye with a red pupil most startled her.

"Oh, hi, you're awake. How's your wound?" she asked gently.

The cyclopean cat seems surprised as it checks itself and notices that it is bandaged. She continues to smile as it looks at her.

"I'm Damari. What's yours?"

The cat is initially hesitant since she is still in shock that a human being saved her life, but she is quickly warming up to her. The cat immediately emits a squeak that appears to be an attempt at talking. Damari cocks her head to the side when she hears her squeak.

"Peepee?"

The one eyed cat gave her a smack on the nose and shook her head while frowning.

"Sorry." Damari giggled before thinking. "Hmm... Teepee? No, Seesee? No. Um... KeeKee?"

KeeKee nodded at the last part she said.

"KeeKee... That's a cute name. I'm guessing... you're a girl."

KeeKee once more nodded joyfully. Damari petted the cat's head gently while grinning and making her purr.

"I'm glad I saved you. You seem... different, a good different I would say. You hungry? I don't have any cat food, but I could get you something to eat." she said, getting up from her bed.

After seeing a black music box, KeeKee jumps out of bed to chase after Damari. The seven colored diamonds on it are recognized, and she then notices a keyhole. Before pursuing her newly acquired human buddy, the cat pauses to reflect for a while and nods to herself as though reaching a decision.

KeeKee jumps up onto the kitchen counter to observe Damari preparing food. She drools as a result of a delicious scent. After looking over her shoulder to find the Cyclops cat waiting, Damari resumes her preparation of food. Before turning back to KeeKee, she puts something on each plate for the cat and herself. KeeKee is served a nice cooked fish with rice on a plate from Damari, while Damari's plate contains scrambled eggs, bacon, rice, and blueberry pancakes.

"Hope you enjoy your meal." Damari said, praying for her food before eating.

Damari was taken aback when KeeKee gave the fried fish a smell before flashing her razor-sharp teeth. After taking a meal, KeeKee's eye enlarges. She eagerly ate the fish and rice together in one go and then burped it all up. She was still eating her breakfast when Damari saw how quickly she ate. KeeKee gives her an innocent look while licking her lips, revealing her still-visible teeth. Damari questions whether that cat is really normal.

After breakfast, Damari starts gathering her belongings and stuffing them into her backpack along with her phone, iPad, and other accessories. KeeKee tilts her head in curiosity as she does her action. Damari sees her expression and gets to her knees.

"I'm gonna go to my friends' place for a hangout. You stay here where no one can find you. I'm not sure how they're going to react seeing a one eyed cat, so it's best if you stay safe." she explained, getting up.

Her departure is evident by the widening of KeeKee's eye. She tries to persuade her to stay and expresses gratitude for her assistance by looking around. Damari is admiring her black button earrings as she puts them on when the cat notices a black music box. KeeKee meows at her and approaches, carefully avoiding biting her while gripping her finger with her teeth.

"Whoa, what is it, girl?" Damari asked.

She points at the music box as she brings her companion back into her room. Damari glances at the box before turning to the cat.

"You know how to open this?"

KeeKee nodded, looking rather excited.

"Well... it wouldn't hurt to take a look inside." Damari said, holding onto the straps of her backpack.

The Coraline doll was leaning against the box, as if warning her not to open it. Damari crouches to examine the keyhole.

"So, how do I open this?"

Damari is shocked as KeeKee joyfully transforms into a heart shaped one eye key.

"Whoa! You can shapeshift? Are you even a normal cat?"

KeeKee did not speak, but instead gestured for her to use the key. Damari takes it and gives the box a quick glance as she considers her options. She inhales deeply and inserts a key into a lockhole, turning it until she hears a click to indicate that it has been unlocked. As KeeKee transforms back into a regular cyclopean cat and lands on Damari's shoulder, after Damari pulls the key away. She opens it gradually, and as soon as she and KeeKee are both blinded by a dazzling light, everything instantly goes white.
