"Shopping!" I parade into Amy's room with a giggling Niamh on my tail. She rolls over, half asleep, and tells us to shut up. Me and Niamh exchange glances, count down from three and jump onto the bed. Amy throws pillows and shouts at us to get off. We rip back the covers and pull her up with us. Soon enough, all three of us are bouncing up and down until a loud BANG comes from beneath us. I quickly hop down to check the damage on the bed, but there's none. What was that sound then? Confused, I turn to ask the two of them when it happens again. Is it from underneath the floor?! I shush them and put my ear against the floor to hear a man shouting. Oh! It's not us at all! I start to laugh which sets of Niamh and then Amy. Within seconds, we're all rolling on the floor in laughter.

Eventually, like all good times that come to an end, we head into the kitchen to start breakfast. I'm thinking a fry up which is Niamh's favourite. Helena stumbles in a few minutes later demanding a black coffee. I scoff and tell her to make it herself, I'm busy with the eggs. She grumbles and pushes her way back into the lounge where she slept last night. "This sofa isn't that comfy, you know?" I huff, blowing my hair out my face. What on earth is wrong with her today? I'm not going to worry about that now, she can stay like this for all I care! Today is about making Niamh happy and if she's going to ruin that, she will have to stay away from us.

"Right! Amy run to your room and get changed, Niamh go brush your hair and I'll sort out bus times. Go team, go go go!" They stampede up the stairs, making Helena groan and rub her temple. "So loud! Where are you going anyway?" She props herself up on the sofa and glares at me. "We're going shopping to cheer up Niamh!" I wander into the hall and scroll through my bus app. 20 minutes, cool. "And you didn't invite me?!" She almost screams even though she's only in the next room. I rage silently out of sight, calm down and reply through gritted teeth, "Sorry, you can come along if you want..." The sofa creaks as she slowly lifts herself up. I hear her trudging towards the bathroom, a door slam and then the shower being turned on.

Thirty minutes later and the bathroom door is still closed. The rest of us are waiting in the lounge - Niamh's fiddling with a pillow and Amy is scrolling through her phone. Steam is now billowing through the crack under the door and her singing is muffled by the steady pace of the water. "Should we make a run for it?" Amy whispers, pulling her headphones from her ears. We all nod, stalking over to the door. I scribble a quick note on the back of a receipt and leave it on the side. We can't wait any longer or we'll miss another bus! I grab my jacket and bag on the way out and silently pull the door shut behind me.

I rush down the stairs to find my sister and best friend laughing their heads off. "I don't even know why, but that was HILARIOUS!" I giggle myself but hear footsteps above my head. "Sam? Amy? Niamh? Where are you?" Oh no, Helena. All three of us silently tiptoe outside, out of earshot, before sprinting away. It's a good few minutes later when we finally stop and that is only because we are wheezing so hard! Eventually, we regain enough energy to stroll into the Starbucks where Amy works, there's no point getting the bus now because we were practically almost there anyway. Niamh pushes through the door and skips up to the counter, the same girl inside as when I left her all those years ago. She gawks at the menu, the masses of flavours on offer neatly handwritten above her. Me and Amy join at the till and order three caramel frappuccinos to go, getting a staff discount from the barista. She whips up the drinks and writes on our names in her loopy handwriting with a little heart over Niamh's 'i'. We sip them as we wander outside in blissful silence, licking the cream off our lips.

"So, what are we going to do today?" Amy drains the last few drops down the back of her neck and tosses the empty cup into a nearby bin. Niamh swallows her mouthful and replies, "I was thinking about finding a job, I can't live off you guys forever. I know you said I could stay and all but I'd like to at least pay rent!" We all search our brains for where she could try to apply, Tesco's maybe? They're always ready to employ. "Hey, actually, I think there's an opening at Starbucks! Yeah, this guy called Liam was fired last week for harassing a customer. He had told this girl she had nice boobs and they should go out some time, to which she replied that she had a boyfriend and wasn't interested anyway. He leant around the counter and tried to squeeze her bum. She kicked him with her heeled boots and walked out the shop, leaving behind her unpaid drink. But, anyway, there's a spot open and I might be able to put in a good word!" Niamh squeals and hugs Amy tightly around her neck. "OH MY GOD THANK YOU! I'M SO HAPPY SAM MET YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE JUST AMAZING!" She skips along in front of us, a wide smile spread across her face. I silently high five Amy and mouth a thanks. She smiles, taking a sneaky sip from my frappuccino whilst she thinks I'm not looking.

"Hey, found you!" A scouse accent calls from behind us. Amy groans as we turn to see Helena running towards us. She waves at us vigorously as she stomps her feet with every step. "Sorry you had to wait for me, but here I am now!" She beams brightly at us whilst Amy just rolls her eyes and mutters something under her breath. Helena squints her eyes and asks her to speak up- to which she just huffs and pulls her hood down further over her eyes.

"So... Primark?" Helena and Niamh both nod enthusiastically whilst Amy just sighs. We all stroll - one of us trudging and I think you know who - into the huge, multi floor clothes shop. My little sister flies from one rail to the next, plucking out clothes that were very much her style. I follow with a open bag to catch all of the items she is flinging behind her. Soon enough, we are all weak at the knees from lugging around all this stuff. We drag the now several bags of clothing towards the changing room and dump them all inside a cubicle with Niamh. She models every outfit, every accessory and pleads me to say what suits her. By the end of the mini fashion show, she has narrowed everything down to two bags. To be honest, I don't really mind because Primark is cheap as chips and she kind of needs clothes since she left most of it behind when she left. We queue up to pay a grand total of fifty two pounds and ninety two pence, not bad!

Defeated by the overwhelming amount of shopping, we cut the trip short and try to hail a taxi- something I HATE doing. Amy somehow manages to grab the attention of a driver so we all clamber in. I tell him the address, stuttering slightly but eventually piecing together a coherent sentence. And then it's quiet. The engine hums as I pick at my nails- a trait that I've had from a young age that happens whenever I feel uncomfortable.  "So, Niamh, a few questions..." Helena breaks the awkward silence. My sister nods happily as an acceptance and waits for the questions to flow. "I heard you telling everything to Sam yesterday... about your parents and stuff..." She tenses at the mention and I notice her stumbling to talk. "Yes..." She meekly answers, a whisper more than anything. "I just don't get it! I mean, wouldn't your parents have, like, called the police or something? It's not like these were random people - you could have turned them in!" I see red but refrain from lashing out on her, she doesn't understand.

"Helena, please stop." I hiss through gritted teeth. My fists are clenched at my sides and I'm testing every bit of willpower to not attack her right here, right now. "But I'm serious, wouldn't someone at least have been suspicious of a bunch of teens carrying around a TV at the dead of night? I mean come on, that's a big giveaway!" That's it.

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP YOU SELFLESS LITTLE BITCH!" I'm seething with anger as I scream my lungs out. The fearful look in her eyes says it all, but I'm not finished yet. "YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK TO HER LIKE THAT! SHE IS THE VICTIM HERE SO BE ON HER SIDE! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH, WHAT SHE HAS BEEN THROUGH! SO YOU GET YOUR RUDE ASS OUT OF THIS CAR AND OUT OF MY SIGHT! PULL OVER!" The driver swerves sideways, probably petrified by the fiery shouting in the backseat. I open the car door and push her out, "COME BACK AND GET YOUR STUFF AT 2 O'CLOCK SHARP, YOU'RE KICKED OUT YOU ASSHOLE!" I slam the door shut on her sorry face and tell the driver to carry on in the calmest voice I can manage. He obeys immediately, keeping his eyes dead straight on the road and sat bolt upright. The car becomes eerily quiet as Amy rubs my knee, relaxing me. I breathe out a deep sigh and close my eyes.

"We're here." I try to pay the driver for the fare but he refuses to take it. "Looks like you've been through enough so it's the least I can do!" I smile weakly and thank him, my mind too dazed to do much more. I trail up to our apartment, into my room and collapse onto my bed. No one tries to come in and I silently thank them for that. Geez, all I wanted was one uneventful day, is that too much to ask? Just give me a break already!
