So, a tutorial for the first Toothless drawing in the other book!

EDIT: I just noticed that my Toothless's left (His right) eye is insanely wonky... Oh well. I will probably get round to redoing this at some point.

Step 1: Shade a small, downwards facing triangle.

Step 2: Draw on two small circles for eyes.

Step 3: Enlarge the triangle to fit around the eyes.

Step 4: Then shade less heavily around the eyes for the front of your Toothless's head, and add two small dashes for nostrils.

If your Toothless's head is too wide on one side, like mine was, erase it...

And shade lightly there.

That's better!

Step 5: Make a small loop at the side of his head. Don't worry too much about the shape, we'll fix that later.

Step 6: Then fill it in...

Step 7: And smooth the shape off.

Step 8 & 9: And repeat for the other side.

Step 10: Add a small rise in the centre the back of your dragon's head, between the ear fins, then place two small lumps on either side of it.

Step 11: Then smooth them out.

Step 12: We're nearly done! Add three small nubs at one side of his head...

Then again at the other side.

Your Toothless is now complete!
