Sometimes you want to rewind time and be with a man, which you now miss. Remember the funny and sad moments. You want to go back in time, to change something in there and maybe even delete it forever. You want to stop the time and enjoy the moment with your love, because you know that everything will never be the same.

After Hiccup's father died, everything had changed. Hiccup became the Chief and his dragon – Alpha. His girlfriend became his fiancée and after twenty years he regained his mother. It would seem that all was well, but it would be a lie. At the same time, Hiccup lost his dear person, he lost his father and it affected him. He wasn't what he used to be. Hiccup became a closed person. He barely spoke to people, barely ate and slept. And the worst part was that he didn't allow others to help him. Everything that he did was work.

And such behavior hurt others, especially Astrid. Hiccup was her everything, her world and her beloved. Astrid didn't know what she had to do. She didn't know whether it needed to scream, shout, or beg him to return to her, to them. Everything that she tried, went dog on the tail. And over time Astrid began to lose hope, that she will ever again be able to see the same Hiccup as before. She only had her memories left.

Astrid never thought, that after two years, she ever again be able to see the same houses, which they built, the same forest, where they used to fly and the same Moon, whereat she watched in the evenings. Only one thing was different now. Dragon's Edge... was burned and destroyed.

She jumped off from Stormfly's back and ultimately stood on the burnt wood. Formerly, peace here was something special, here finding a corner of silence was almost impossible. And now there was nothing alive, just two of them in dead silence.

Astrid sadly sighed and with his dragon by her side, she walked towards a charred hut, which lived Hiccup once. She touched one of the burnt logs and closing his eyes, remembered how it looked before, with all his colors and life.

She remembered everything that had happened here, remembered intolerably the twin's pranks, sometimes ended in a very bad way, their fights and disagreements, Fishlegs teachings, annoying Snotlout, who couldn't keep his mouth shut and Hiccup, who had always pulled them out of trouble. Despite all the disagreements, fights and quarrels, Astrid wouldn't change it into anything else in this world, because with them she was very happy. They were her expensive friends and even her second family. And now they went their separate ways, started their own families and moved away from each other.

"You can't always wait for the perfect time. Sometimes you have to dare to do it because life is too short to wonder what could have been." -Unknown.

She felt a single tear rolled down her cheek, but she quickly wiped it away and leting down er head, she started to go towards the former clubhouse, where happened some things she would never forget.

°*Flashback°*

That evening, she only could think about what Heather told her.

"Life is too short."

"You need to express your feelings."

"Stop wasting time."

"You two are perfect."

No matter how hard she tried to get rid of them, these few phrases couldn't get out of her head. And the more she thought about it, the more she began to think that she was right.

Maybe, but just maybe, she should tell him how she felt about him. That she loves him with all his heart. But what if he doesn't feel the same as she, what if she tells the truth, and it will destroy their friendship?

After all, he is the son of a chief, the best dragons' rider and in the future, rural commander. And who is she? A poor girl, who lives with his uncle? Yes. So, why he should choose exactly her, from all the other girls?

Sure, she knows that he cares about her a lot and even had said that he can't imagine the world without her in it, but he never said that he likes her and had never made a first move.

Astrid couldn't take it anymore, she had to tell him right now as long as her thoughts didn't kill her. She started to go towards Hiccup's hut but was stopped by torchlight, who was shining from the clubhouse. And her surprise, he was here, working on his map.

'Come on, Astrid... You can do this... right here, right now.' She whispered to herself and took a step closer to him.

"Hiccup?" The young man flinched and turned around.

"Oh... hey, Astrid. I haven't noticed you." He stood up. "What are you doing here?" She took a deep breath and started.

"I came here because I wanted to tell you something important. Just don't know how to begin..." Astrid looked in his forest-green eyes and only then she realized how close they were to each other. "When you took me into the flight with Toothless and had shown how it can be amazing, I began to have feelings for you... not because that you have been popular, but because you were you... Of all the Vikings, you didn't try to be someone you were not, what fascinated me the most in you and still fascinates. But years go by, my crush on you only g-grew and now... I don't even know how to say this to you because what I feel, impossible describe in words. So I-I will just show you it." She looked at his mouth, which was slightly open and leaned to kiss him. But he did something that broke her heart. Hiccup turned away from her...

Of course, what else, she could expect?! Applause and flowers for that?! How could she believe that he, son of Stoick the Vast, can love a girl like her?.

Hiccup needs the wife, he can be proud of, not be ashamed and not a girl like her.

She lowered her eyes in shame and the thousands of apologies spilled from her mouth. She didn't want to be here anymore. In total, she didn't want to be here with him, because everything that he did, was smiling at her, but when he noticed a single tear rolled down her cheek, he became serious and caught her in time, before she could run away. He gently sheltered Astrid's back to his chest and put his hands on hers.

"Do you know that you are very cute when you're blushing?.." He kissed her long neck. "I would never laugh out of you, Astrid. I love you very much and would never hurt you..." Hiccup whispered into her ear, forcing her heart to stop. "I turned away from you just because I wanted to do it myself, at least one time make the first move..." With that, his lips met hers. And guess what? Astrid kissed back.

°*End of flashback°*

She slipped down to the burned clubhouse wall and buried his head into the knees. Hot tears rolled down her pink cheeks and she hadn't even tried to hold it back because she has been strong for too long...

"People cry, not because they're weak. It's because they've been strong for too long." ~Johnny Depp.

Astrid was in deep thought, but someone returned her to reality, that something kept repeating Astrid's name.

"Astrid?" And again. When she looked up, in front of her was standing Fishlegs and Meatlug.

"Fishlegs? What are you doing here?" She asked surprised and stood up from the ground, wiping away her tears.

"I could ask the same question as you did. I saw you fly away late in the evening, so I decided to follow you, make sure that you come back healthy, because, well... uhh... you know...Hiccup would never forgive me if you got hurt. So... Why are you here?"

"He doesn't care anymore." She went a few steps ahead and looked at the wide horizon. "Here is a good place to remember and ponder..."

"About what?" The blonde turned to him.

"About everything... but mostly... about the past." She briefly stopped. "Do you remember the good old times, when we were all together, all as one? Remember the adventure, the risk that we've experienced? Funny and sad moments? All this, will not be repeated and will never be the same..."

"What do you mean, Astrid?"

"Look around you..." He looked. "...everything changed. People change, they come in and out of our lives like Heather did. Even Hiccup changed. I with him used to talk for hours and now I'm lucky to talk to him for a few minutes a day. Now he's always busy. I remember everything, the jokes, smiles, laughs we shared. And I doubt he remembers any of that... I miss him so much even hurt. I need him in my life. We need him." Astrid put one hand on her belly. "A little life inside me must have a father. Grow up without a dad next, is very difficult, I know this from my own experience..." In her voice was so much pain that she considered herself already a very long time. "And when I'm trying to tell him... he just ignores me..."

She lifted her teary eyes from the ground and looked at Fishlegs, but he stared at something different.

"What are you staring at?" She asked disruption.

"At him." That was all he said.

She quickly turned around and her limbs melted. Here he was, in all his beauty, stood a few steps away from her, next to Toothless. He heard everything and in his eyes she could see the sadness, disappointment confidence, a sense of guilt and pity. But what surprised Astrid the most was the sight of tears in his forest-green eyes.

She couldn't take it anymore and began to run straight into his hands. He embraced her strongly like there was no tomorrow, but the same gently like she was his porcelain rose.

"Just because everything is different, doesn't mean anything has changed." ~Irene Peter.

And now she knew that everything will be different, but the family has remained the same, the strangest thing is that it has never disappeared, it just a little and broken, but still good...

"Never waste a moment; it may be the last with someone you love." -Unknown.
