There are many, many stories I've encountered on Wattpad with very cliche/cringey openings. It comes with the territory of fanfiction, and with self-written works. I have here some examples of classic cliche opennings that will take away from both the originality and overall professionalism of your story. (While I will be using names, these apply to both fanfiction and X Readers)

Ex 1:

"Wake up Rachel, you're gonna be late for school!"

I jumped out of bed, tripping right away. I was clumsy like that. I then ran around and (amazingly) did my hair, makeup, and put on a crop top, jeans, and vans before running downstairs.

"Bye mom," I grabbed a piece of toast and ran out of the house.

I made it to school just in time, slipping into my classroom and sitting next to my best friend.

Ex 2:

"Hey loser!"

I dropped my books as they were hit out of my hands. It was Bella, the mean girl in school. I was just a nerd, not pretty. Bella got all the boys, and because I was a nerd I had never had a boyfriend.

"Are you okay?" Someone knelt down near me, helping me pick up my books.

"Yeah," I look up and blushed. He was cute. I hadn't seen him before.

"My name is Mike, I'm new," the new-boy held out his hand so I could shake it, "I'll see you around."

Ex 3:

My name is Isabella Midnight Darkness. My hair is bright purple. My eyes are ice blue. I have the power of telekinesis, telepathy, and teleportation. But I feel weak. My dad doesn't care about me. He drinks a lot.

Ex 4:

Hi! I'm Rebecca Gomez. I'm 15. And I'm in love with my brother's best friend.

Ex 5:

I nervously adjusted my clothes, stepping inside the school. I was new, and nervous that I wouldn't make any friends. But I had a secret...

I get so irritated and leave when I see introductions like this. There are tons of other cliches, but I think I'm going to save that for another chapter.

I hope this helped you know what to avoid whether you're writing or reading. Openings are the gateway to a story, don't let it be cliche!

Requests are open, so is asking questions!
