Numbering chapters is something done to let the readers keep track of where they are in the story. If you add a title after the chapter number (Ex: Chapter 15: Loki's Imprisonment) then it also gives the reader and idea of what will happen.

A lot of time I see people not numbering their chapters or saying "No idea what chapter this is". When you don't number your chapters it makes it look unprofessional (unless it's a help book like this) and it scares readers off.

When you say you have no idea what chapter it is...DO YOU KNOW HOW EASY IT IS TO GO BACK AND LOOK?! It is so freaking easy that when people say they don't know what chapter it is I leave. It takes two seconds to look.

Take the extra time and number your chapters. I swear it makes a huge difference.
