~Anika's POV~

I went to my room and start checking some files to divert my mind. But it seems next to impossible. I throw the file in anger, I just can't understand why I'm reacting like this.. He is my past and I have moved on. At a time he was my everything but now he is just a past. I loved him but he.. He just betrayed me and break my heart into pieces. I was engrossed in my thoughts when Era maasi knocked the door and entered my room. She sit beside me and keeps her hand on my hand.

E: Anika I know dear it's not easy for you to forget him so easily.

A: no maasi I forgot him but today after watching him in front of me is... I'm getting all the flashbacks of us and his betrayals.

E: you have to keep yourself strong not for you but for Gauri. You have to make his understand that you have forget him.

A: yes maasi I have to be strong because Anika Malhotra can't lose in front of anyone.
(With attitude)

E: now come down and check the arrangements for the cocktail party.

A: come..

Era maasi understands me very well she is a mother figure to me. We both come down and Shivaay and Ri were talking, looking at us they join us in work..

At evening I was ready in black gown with matching accessories.

Ri came to my room and she was looking like a princess.

We both went downstairs to find Shivaay and Om waiting for us. Om was looking at Ri with open mouth and Ri was blushing. I looked at Shivaay he was looking like a Greek god in black.

Coincidentally we both were wearing black. His continuous gaze made my cheeks red.

~Shivaay's POV~

Anika came down with Gauri and she was looking damn hot in black. I can't take my eyes off her. In a daze I moved close to her and whispered in her ear, "You are looking beautiful Anika". She looked at me in shock and I winked at her. I can see her cheeks turning in a shade of red.. Om and Gauri's voice breaks my thoughts and we started greeting the guests. I was talking with some clients when someone patted my shoulder. I turned and found Abeer. I hugged him, Om came to us and we started talking about our college days. But something caught my eyes, Abeer was continuously looking at Anika. He excused himself and left form there. I shrugged all this thoughts and keep talking with my business partners.

~ Anika's POV~

I was sitting at the bar counter when Abeer comes to me. I was about to get up but I didn't. Because I want to show him that he doesn't affect me anymore. He takes the seat beside me and ordered some drink.

Ab: soo Anika how are you?
(With a smirk)

A: I'm totally fine.. What about you?
(With fake smile)

Ab: I'm also fine. By the way Anika you changed a lot the Anika I know is really sensitive. I thought you have broken after our breakup.

A: Mr. Abeer Sinha I'm not the same Anika you know. Sometimes changes are good and I have totally changed.
(With much attitude and anger)

Ab: wooh.. I like it. So are you dating someone?

A: I'm not like you Mr.Sinha. Once I loved you but you betrayed me and now I don't want to make the same mistake.

Ab: so you haven't forget the past? Isn't it?
(With smirk)

A: I have forget every thing about us and I don't care about it anymore. Do you understand I don't care and I forgot everything. Every damn thing.
(Shouting because of the drink)

Ab: calm down Ms. Malhotra or should I make you calm?
  (While getting close to her face)

A: get lost..
(Pushing him back)

Ab: see you soon dear.

Abeer left the place but I was again on the stage of breaking down. I want to erase the moment I met him. He's the biggest mistake of my life.

~Shivaay's POV~

I was going to my room when I saw Anika sitting at the bar counter and sipping drinks. She was high but still drinking. I moved to her and held her hand.

S: Anika come let's go.

A: why? Do you have any problem?
(Making her hand free from his grip)

S: no Anika but look at yourself you're totally high.

A: so what? I can take care of myself. I need no one in my life. I don't need him or anyone else.

S: okay okay but let's go now. The party is over.

A: okay come..

She stood up and was about to fall when I  held her.

A: why are you taking care of me Shivaay? Why? I said na I don't need anyone.

S: Anika let's go to your room.

I took her in my arms and takes her to her room while she kept her head on my shoulder and hands wrapped around my neck.
