Orion Black (1929 – 1979) was a pure-blood wizard and the eldest son of Arcturus Black III and Melania Macmillan. He married his second cousin, Walburga Black, and the couple had two sons: Sirius and Regulus Black. He was also a member of the Black family, an old wizarding family and one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. At some point, Orion started living at 12 Grimmauld Place, presumably after he married Walburga. He eventually disowned his eldest son for his tolerance towards Muggles and Muggle-borns. Orion died sometime in 1979, leaving his wife a widow.
