Chapter 32 - The Long Path Ahead

Empty and quiet, my mind was lost in the blackness. I held Shadows hand as we assessed the stairs. The traps now stopped and frozen in time.

I rushed as fast as I could, basically dragging Shadow behind me. He didn't say a word as we climbed, but soon my legs ached and I had to slow down.

I couldn't see the top still and I was getting desperate. I knew we had been traveling for a while but why couldn't I see any light. I was almost about to panic when I heard an echo from above.

I couldn't make out what it was but Shadow seemed happy and quickly pulled ahead of me. "Wait Shadow! The traps!" I called up to him as he rushed up the stairs.

"Y/n, it's fine! Look you've broken the curse!" He said and pointed to the frozen axe in front of me. I stopped and examined the axe. It's blade smooth and sharp, no signs of ware.

I looked back down behind me and realized the stairs had disappeared. I slowly took on step up and watched the step I was one turn to dust.

I turned and looked back up to tell Shadow, but he was gone. Anxiety filled my body and I rushed up the stairs.

"Shadow! Please wait!" I yelled up, my voice echoing before falling away. I was so worried that I couldn't feel the burning pain in my legs. That's when I noticed the light up a head.

A/n Well it's been a while, I'm sorry I feel like I do this every time but I've just been really depressed and unmotivated I'm truly sorry.
