I should be happy. Nya thinks to herself. Kai and Jay are here. They're alive! Nya taps her bandage which is covering her broken shoulder. When they got back, I was so happy...

"Jay?!" Nya half yells as the supposed dead ninja land the dragons.

"Nya!"

Nya runs into Jay's arms and grips his shirt tightly. Jay wraps his own arms around her and rocks her gently. When Jay and Nya let go of each other, Nya launches herself into Kai's arms and hugs him tightly, wrapping her arms around his torso. Kai wraps his arms around her in return, gently heats himself up and murmurs comforting words as Nya starts shaking.

Nya hasn't really spoken to Jay since they got back. At least not a one on one conversation with him. Jay bites his lip nervously when Nya excused herself and runs upstairs.

"Does anyone else think Nya's been acting distant lately?" Jay asks, turning towards his girlfriend's roommate.

"Yeah, she locks herself in our room and won't open the door until we have to go to bed," Lloyd replies before stuffing a fork full of pasta into his mouth.

Jay sighs pushes his plate away and stands up. "I'm gonna go and check on her."

He runs up the stairs, taking two at a time, before stopping in front of Nya and Lloyd's room. He raises his hand to knock. Just before he does knock, he hears quiet crying coming from the room.

"Nya? Hey, can I come in sweetheart?"

There's shuffling and a quiet click from the other side of the door. The door opens to show a tired, and clearly upset, Nya. Jay feels his heartbreak.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Jay asks as Nya lets him in.

Nya looks down, with an almost guilty look on her face. Jay sits her down on her bed and sits next to her.

"Nya?"

Nya looks up at him, with tears in her eyes that are threatening to roll down her cheeks at any second.

"What's wrong?"

Nya whimpers as tears start to fall down her cheeks. Jay gently pulls her closer to him and rubbing her back when she grips onto his hoodie.

"I-I needed you," Nya whimpers.

"Shh, I know, I know. I'm here now. I'm here," Jay murmurs and kisses her hair gently.

"A-and you weren't there," Nya cries harder and starts to shake.

Jay feels his heart brake even more. "Hey, hey shh I'm here. I'll always be here for you," Jay pulls her onto his lap and lets her snuggle into him.

Nya snuggles into his chest and keeps a tight grip on his hoodie. Jay starts to rock her when her cries get louder.

"Shh, I'm here, I'm here," Jay whispers and repeats it, hoping it'll help calm his princess down.

After several more minutes of crying, Nya tugs on Jay's hoodie. Jay looks down at her.

"You want it?" Jay asks, going to take it off.

Nya rapidly shakes her head and lifts it up.

"Oh, go on."

Nya puts the hoodie over herself and then pulls it under herself so she's completely hidden in Jay's hoodie. Jay continues to rock her until she goes still. He blinks and goes to lift the hoodie off her, he hears light snoring. He smiles and lays down with Nya on top of him, hiding. He gently strokes her head.

"I love you pumpkin, and I promise, I'll never leave you again," Jay murmurs before drifting off.

And, underneath his hoodie, a soft smile comes onto Nya's face.
