Her day off was being well spent, sandwiched between her comforter and foam mattress at 11 in the morning, until a certain someone's phone call interrupted her deep slumber. She knew who it was without sparing a glance at her mobile.

"Hello" she said in a raspy voice

"Adi jaldi utho" came an exhilarated reply from the other end

"Itni subah subah kyu pareshan kar raha hai mujhe? So jao aaj day off hai hamara" she answered her eyes still closed.

"Mein niche wait kar raha hu das minute me tayaar hoke aa jana bye" and the call ended

Kitna ajeeb ladka hai yeh she thinks to herself before yawning and stretching her body. And then realises she has only 10 minutes to get ready. But where is she going with him? She knew calling and asking for the details is useless so she ran to the washroom grabbing her toothbrush and paste. By the time she started brushing he called her again.

"U have only 5 min left jaldi aa jao mujhe kahi aur bhi jaana hai" she hears him say.

"2 min" she manages to speak though it comes out muffled.

He couldn't help chuckling as he realised that she was indeed brushing her teeth.

As she got into his car, the sweet fragrance of her body mist from forest essentials diffused into the air inside making him realise her presence when he was actually lost in the song 'Tera yaar hoon mein' playing in the car. He could recognize her scent. The forest essentials hamper was gifted to him but he wanted to share it with her. Just good friends thing u know.

Inhaling the scent he said "kitna perfume lagati ho yaar sach bata tune nahaya nahi haina?"

"shut up!" she hit his arm fisting her hand

"aur yeh kya lagaya hai" he said while inching his hand closer to her face till he reached her lips and wiped off her lipstick with the back of his index finger.

"Err...stop it zain" she said shoving his hand away "You always teased me for not using make-up now that I have started applying lipstick what's your problem with it? You do this whenever I apply this shade" she whined

"I don't know exactly what my problem is. But whenever I see that ruby shade on ur lips I just want to wipe it off" she huffed at his reply

She understood where this conversation was going so she chose to divert the topic.

"where are we going? And why didn't u come upstairs?" she asked with a frown on her face

He gave her an as-if-u-don't-know look "U know what happens if I come upstairs right? U will take another hour to get ready and we will get late"

"shut up I don't take that much time like Nalini ok, she takes hours not me" she stated "where are we going?" she was growing impatient unlike her usual self and the song in car play 'thodi der' wasn't doing any good to her curiosity instead it is getting intensified with each passing second.

After two minutes of absolute silence she chose to let him be and not ask any further questions. She was wearing her lipstick when he glanced at her and she could feel his gaze "Now don't even try to do that again" she warned making him grin.

As he halted the car she was shocked to see the surroundings. Why are we here? She thought. "Nalini is coming with us" came his reply I might have said it aloud she convinced herself but the fact was that he could read her mind.

They went to truffle tower which was one of her favorite places, chatted about random stuff while having their brunch and took pictures. He dropped off nalini first while returning.

Aditi was on a happy high and couldn't control herself. She hugged him from the side with all her might wrapping her arms around his shoulders. She didn't even care that he was driving which left zain flabbergasted.

"U knew it right?" Her voice came out cracked as she had been crying.

"Haan" he knew they were happy tears so didn't ask her anything "mujhe tab se patha tha jab se yeh sab shuru hua par meine seriously nahi liya after some days i realised it was serious par mujhe laga tum dono sort out kar lenge. After seeing u cry yesterday I couldn't stop myself. Meri vajahse tum dononke beech problems ho yeh mujhe bilkul acha nahi laga. I know she is little insecure about me but she shouldn't have been rude to u. She just thinks that I don't value her anymore because I'm friends with u now. And then I realised it was my mistake that I ignored her all this while. So I made her realize that she will always be my friend and now everything is sorted."

She didn't want to leave him though he was feeling it difficult to drive and he didn't ask her too.

"U know how much I was worried about all this?" she looked up to him whilst sniffing "I couldn't concentrate on work for some time. I know she is friends with u for last four years and it is a matter of months that u and I have been friends. There were times I thought I came in between u both. I felt guilty about it so I tried being formal with u but I just couldn't" she held him tighter "There is no one who cares for me like u do and I don't want to lose u because of someone else who doesn't value other's emotions."

He placed his hand on her arm which was around his shoulder "u never came in between us ok?"

"Okay" she nodded and rested her head on his arm

After ten minutes zain stopped the car and aditi didn't even realise that they have reached.

"Adi" he called out her name gently tapping her head. She stiffened herself and bit her inner cheek in realisation of what she had done. "ab embarrass mat ho jana" she hears him say "its ok I can understand" saying he cupped her face "Adi I am telling it again u never came in between us. I have known her for a longer time than I know u but that doesn't mean u know me any less. In fact u know me more than her and we all know how she is. She just needs attention and that is why she does all this. I did this just because u were feeling guilty not that I wanted u to be friends with her again. Don't even try to do stupidity like being formal and all. And one more thing u are never going to lose me even if u leave me I will come to u and torture u just as I always do" saying this he wiped off her lipstick again and gave an evil smirk.

"Zain" she screamed and smacked his hand "Mein kabhi baat nahi karungi tujhse" she got down the car in a jiffy slammed the door shut "bye" she disappeared into her apartment building. Zain couldn't comprehend the whole thing that just happened. He was in utter shock but somehow managed to park the car aside and ran behind her.

Fortunately he found her waiting for the elevator and sprinted towards her. Both entered the lift and zain started pleading "adi sorry na suno meri baat I won't do that again" she turned away from him crossing her arms across her chest. He walked in a semi-circle to face her, pinching the skin at his neck "please adi meine bola na sorry I swear I won't do that again"

She walked out of the elevator as its door opened and went inside her flat with him following her, reciting the same words again. As they entered the living room he saw her smiling, in the reflection that appeared on the tv screen.

"Adi ki bacchi" he grabbed her by her waist and started tickling her and their giggles echoed in the room. After fighting for good fifteen minutes they were exhausted and crashed on the sofa.
