Only seconds later I hear my father's footsteps as he makes his way to my room. His fists are hurled at the door as he knocks, twisting the doorknob when I don't answer.

"Tony, get back here! I'm going to knock the gay out of you!" I sob harder, afraid to move away from the door. The door shakes and I tremble, shivers wracking my body as I clutch myself for comfort.

He doesn't accept you. He's your only family member and the only one whom cared for you.

"Open this door, boy!" I refuse to listen to him, the rational side of me not wanting to show at the moment. I stay leant against the door as he kicks and punches my door, but to no avail. After a while he gives up, walking away I presume.

I sit up, still crying but I manage to calm my once ragged breathing. After a good while of sitting there, I get up on shaky legs and make my way to my wardrobe, packing up my necessities. I take my saved up money from the back of my underwear drawer and sigh.

Once I've gotten everything together I open my door, looking around before I step out with my two suitcases. Wrong move. Definitely the wrong move.

My dad comes out from his room across the hall, walking deathly calm towards me.

"D-Dad, I understand that you're not happy with this . . . I'm leaving now," I say, gesturing at my suitcase before I start to make my way to the door. He doesn't let me, instead he puts his hand around my neck and squeezes so tightly I'm genuinely scared for my life.

"You've ruined my life," he spits, landing a punch to my cheek before his hold on my neck tightens. I can't breathe as he keeps applying pressure and my face burns from the punch, but I do nothing. I can only stare at him and pray that he has some mercy.

He glares me down for a bit more before letting me go, shoving me so hard I fall down the first few stairs. I immediately get up, picking up my bags before I rush out and to the almost deserted streets.
