Just a little reminder to please treat retail workers with respect this holiday season.
I'm sure this doesn't apply to most customers but some are just shitty people.
I got slammed in the shoulder today by a customer, I wasn't even serving her, I was helping someone else, I stepped out of her way but she made the point to slam into me then make out it was my fault. At eleven at night my shoulder still hurts a little now, it happened just before five.
At first I'd thought it was an accident, but then you have to think that if someone slams into you in such a way that it hurts as much as it did then it has to have been on purpose. Not to mention an older lady (not the customer I was helping) asked me if I was alright, it must have looked bad to her.
I found out from another concerned customer that she'd also hassled that he smelt alcohol on her, and apparently she was trying to talk to my co worker that was assisting this man, like she was busy come on.
I continued on my task, helping my customer to find books and them being non fiction I thought I'd find our resident expert in that to help me out, mostly because I couldn't concentrate, I was a little thrown.
I found out our non fiction expert was out the back with another of our co workers who was upset. Guess who upset her...
That lady pretty much threw the books over the counter for my co worker to pick up and was just down right rude to her. This co worker is a pretty tough girl, so all I can say is that lady is a downright bitch.
My supervisor called in security and they have a picture of her now, so that was that.

And I know that's an extreme case, but to be treated like a human from customers is a pretty cool thing you know.

I just had to get that off my chest, I almost cried myself, but I didn't, and I won't because that lady isn't worth it, she's just a crappy human being.

Hannah.
