Song: Make It Without You/Andrew Belle
Ship: Collex

~~~~~~~
He didn't know how he got there. Only that he had been there for a couple days.
He recognized the house. He could never forget it..
The same old halls never got tiring and nothing ever changed.
Alex walked through the halls again, his head high as he glanced at all the pictures on the walls.
Middle school. High school. Graduation. Everything was there.
He smiled as he remembered those days with his friends.
The days when they would smile and laugh and enjoy the time they had together.
How he wished he could go back to that...
His head turned as he heard the first key of a piano being played.
He had lived here with his fiancé, Collin. The two were going to get married in the spring.
He bought him that piano as a birthday present, although the male rarely used it. He was more of a guitar man.
He walked into said music room, leaning against the doorframe as he watched the black haired man sitting at the piano.
His head was hung low, his hands slowly beginning to play a sad and somber tune.
Alex frowned softly as he watched him. He looked so pale and sick... How had he not noticed before?
The male continued with the song until he just stopped, breaking down sobbing.
Alex stared in horror, running over and crouching down. "Baby? Baby, whats wrong...?"
"Why..."
"Why what? Collin, why what?"
"Why did you leave me..."
Alex became confused. "I don't understand.. Collin, baby, I'm right here."
Collin closed the piano keys, laying his head on the cover as he cried. "Why did you have to be the hero..."
"Collin look at me. Baby, please look at me." Alex begged, looking at him worried.
"Why did you do it... Why did you have to run into that building..."
Alex stayed frozen, those words running through his head. Run... into that building? What building, what was Collin talking about, why wouldn't he look at him, why-
His eyes widened as he stood up, his heart pounding in his ears. The memories began to flood back, all those missing links...
The specks of ember continued to fly through the air, the sound of the sirens echoing loudly through the streets.
Alex ran around the crowd, frantically scanning the crowd for his lover. He spotted the dark haired male sitting with his two best friends.
He rushed and pushed through the crowd, trying to get to his fiancé. "Collin!!"
Collin looked over at Alex. He and the girls were covered in ashes and small burn marks.
He wrapped his arms around Collin tightly, "Oh baby, you're okay..."
Collin was shaking as he gripped onto Alex tightly. "Y-Yeah.. Um Amber and Jack are going to need a new place to life..."
Alex chuckled softly and kissed his forehead. "Yeah... They can stay with us."
Alex looked up at the burning building, keeping the other male wrapped tightly in his arms.
The crowd began to grow bigger and bigger as people began to be evacuated.
Alex looked around, seeing a couple of the people from around the streets. Collin was double checking on Amber and Cal, making sure the two females didn't have any burns and called their boyfriend and husband.
Alex overheard a conversation between an elderly couple. He became worried as he made there way over, "Whats going on?"
Collin glanced over and followed as well. "Our grandson is still inside." The little old woman said, frightened.
Alex looked at them with a sad glance and then at the building.
A feeling began to flood in his chest as he stripped off his jacket. Collin began to panic, grabbing his arm.
"Alex no! That building is coming down fast, its too risky!!"
The brunette turned to the other male, his multi colored eyes looking into his brown ones with such a strong fear...
He took off his ring and placed it in the palm of Collin's hand. "I'll be back. I promise." He said, kissing his forehead softly as he ran into the building.
Collin stood there in fear as he clutched the ring to his chest. "Please come back..."
Alex searched the building. He had a few burns here and there, but he was making it okay.
The inhaling of all the smoke was making him dizzy. He needed to find this kid and leave. Now.
He heard the quiet cries of the little boy, finding him in a small corner shielded by the flames.
Alex found a safe way over, "Hey! Hey, Little guy look at me!" He said, getting the attention of the small boy.
"Hey, buddy. Take my hand. I'll get you out!" Alex said, reaching out to the little redheaded boy.
The boy looked at him frightened. Alex started to look scared, "Come on... Your grandparents are really worried about you.. Trust me..."
At the mention of his grandparents the boy reached out and grabbed onto Alex's hand.
Alex grabbed onto the small kid and made his way out of the building as fast as possible. Till he came to a bump in the road.
The wall has collapsed and there was only one way to get out. A small hole barely big enough to fit a child.
Alex inhaled sharply, a deep fear forcing in his chest. He put the small 5 year old down.
"Alright buddy. Can you do one thing for me?" He asked the kid, earning a nod in response.
He looked at the hole and back at the kid. "You're gonna crawl through there and make a beeline straight for the door alright? And once you get out, find your grandparents. There's going to be a man with them, black hair one blue and one green eye."
He paused, feeling slight tears forming in his eyes. "I want you to give him a big hug okay? Squeeze him real tight. Alright, you got it?"
He knew his voice was shaking, but he needed to keep as much confidence as he could.
The child nodded, "what about you mister...?"
Alex put on the biggest smile he could muster on his face, "I'll be right behind you." He said, struggling to make his voice as steady as possibly.
The child once again nodded and crawled through the little hole and diving straight for the door.
Alex was alone now. He glanced around, finding himself trapped. That hole was the only way out.
He breathed in shakily, finally letting the tears fall. He broke his promise...
He looked up, hearing Collin calling out to him. He then heard the snap of wood and looked up, the ceiling caving in.
Then... darkness...
Alex held a hand to his chest, his breathing labored and sweat forming.
No... No he couldn't be... he wasn't...
"I'm dead..."
He ran his hands through his hair, crying. "No, no I can't... I can't be dead no!!"
He fell to his knees, crying and screaming. No everything was perfect... His life was perfect why—
He glanced up at Collin, the other male still sobbing as he sat at the piano. He stood up, making his way over to him again.
He stood over him. Collin had one hand clutching the other's ring in his hand, being attached to a chain so he wore it as a necklace...
"Please... Please come back..." The broken male whispered, the tears never ending.
Alex watched him with tears in his face. "I'm right here... Please see me..."
He crouched down on the ground, laying his head on the piano as well. "Please see me..."
"My angel... I love you so much...."
