It was September the 22nd, the day of the long-expected birthday party for Bilbo Baggins. Frodo explained that this party was going to be special. Bilbo was 111! Bilbo and Frodo shared the same birthday. Frodo was now 33, which meant he had officially "come of age."

Gandalf had arrived. I had spotted him first. I was in the market getting some groceries when I first saw his immediately recognizable cart roll up the hill. I smiled and waved. Frodo was in the cart with him, and he waved back.

I struggled under the weight of all the groceries. I staggered up to my uncle's Hobbit hole. The bright yellow door was all I could see beyond the parcels I carried. I puffed as I carefully made my way up the steps. Uncle Bongo puttered out of the house to help me.

"Here, my dear! Give me some of those parcels! You poor thing, your arms must ache something terrible. Now let's see, we've got fish, ah.. Here's some tomatoes and.."

His voice trailed off as he carried his share of the packages into the kitchen. I chuckled under my breath. He was such a busybody.
I followed him and began putting it all away. Once I was done, I ran to my bedroom to get ready. I searched my closet for at least ten minutes before deciding on a teal-blue dress. It had ruffles at the bottom and around the sleeves. It would be perfect for dancing in. Now I wonder who I'll dance with...

-It was finally time. I put a blue crystal tear-drop shaped necklace on. I put a few ribbons in my curly blonde hair. I ran out of my room and into the kitchen where my uncle was waiting.

"It's time! Come on, let's go!" I shouted as I ran around the corner. He nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard me.

"Berylla, my dear! Not so loud! I'm not as deaf as all that."

"Come on!" I begged.
He laughed.

"All right, all right. I can see you won't settle down until we get there."

We finally arrived. Frodo was right: A huge pavilion had been set up. It was so large that the Party Tree fit inside it! There was music and laughter. I spotted Frodo and Bilbo greeting some guests. I decided to go wish them a happy birthday. I ran up behind Frodo. Bilbo grabbed Frodo and said something to him but I couldn't hear. They ran behind a tent. I followed suit. Right before I reached them I began to say "Happy Birthday" but Frodo put his hand over my mouth and all that came out was "Hammry burmmdry". He pulled me closer to him. I angrily protested. Bilbo hushed me. He hid himself further in the tent. Uh-oh. The Sackville-Bagginses. I quieted my breathing. Thankfully they missed us and began wandering the other way. I couldn't breathe at all and began struggling. Frodo finally released me. I gasped for air.

"Honestly, Frodo! I couldn't breathe at all!"

I'm really sorry, Berylla." He muttered sheepishly.

"It's alright." I huffed.

"Are Merry and Pippin around?"

"I thought I caught them sneaking off somewhere."

"I will go see if I can find them."
Bilbo and Frodo began talking again. The last thing I heard was Bilbo saying "I'm very selfish, you know." I wondered what that was about. But I didn't bother with it now. I caught a glimpse of Gandalf running off with some more fireworks. The children laughed and applauded as another one was set off. I smiled at the jovial sight.

And then, out of the corner of my eye, I caught Merry peek around from the side of the cart. He slapped something inside the tent closest to the cart. The tent flapped open a little and it revealed Pippin.
He darted over to the cart. Merry hoisted him up into it. Pippin grabbed one and showed it to Merry but he shook his head and exclaimed:

"No no, the big one! Big one!"

Don't do it, Pippin.

He grabbed a large, red, odd-looking firework.

Merry gasped in delight and followed Pippin, undoubtably to go let it off somewhere. But not before biting into a bright red, rather delicious looking apple.

You're gonna get in a load of trouble.

I quickly but quietly followed them. And suddenly they disappeared.

Drat.

I continued searching for them, but without success. Suddenly I heard three things: A huge bang, two ear-piercing screams, and a large crowd "ooh!"

They've done it.-
