Muna Tekin could be happier with her life. Working as a journalist at a media company taking the world by storm, she spent her time feverishly chasing after stories that often wanted nothing to do with her and dealing with people towering over her that thought they could intimidate her into doing whatever they wanted. While nothing satisfied her more than seeing a story find its way out into the world, free to educate and empower, Muna had obstacles in her path like any other person, and hurdling over them took as much energy she could spare,

One of those obstacles came in the form of her new boss, a bitter man not much older than herself who hated Muna with a burning passion for reasons she wasn't even sure of herself. It seemed whatever she did was never enough to please him, favoring a new coworker that shared his exact same demeanor--condescending and arrogant. But when she's forced to research a story she wanted nothing to do with, Muna finds herself trying to make the best of the situation, arranging an interview with the world's leading astrophysicist, Jane Foster, armed with a tray of coffee and hoping to make a good impression.

Unfortunately, it seemed that the universe was not on her side, seeing as how she was late to the interview and hurrying to arrive as soon as possible, only to run straight into Jane and spilling boiling hot coffee over both of them. Mortified by what had just happened, Muna found herself apologizing profusely before shoving a handful of money at the woman before bolting.

While she would have been more than happy to never think about that day again, Muna couldn't help but meet Jane again, their paths intersecting once more when an unexpected turn of events brings the two closer than they ever would have imagined, allowing them time to learn more about each other and reminding them of the pasts they had left behind. Because no matter how hard they tried to keep their feelings under lock and key, they needed to see that they could slow down and fall in love too.

Not gonna lie but I wasn't super sold on this fic when I first came up with it, hence talking about it once like, last year and then putting it on the back burner until now but I swear it's not my fault, I love Muna, I can't help it. I was super excited to make this a Jane Foster fic because I'm tired of the rivalry between the arts and science, they're both rich academic subjects that fuel each other and cannot exist without the other, it's ridiculous

Also I'm pissed off that I have to recast Jane because I really liked Natalie Portman as the character but of course she's ableist and we can't have nice things, I'm not completely sold on Veronica so that's why I'm a bit iffy about this fic in general
