I was busy going over some files here at the inventory room when I heard voices talking not too far from where I am at.

I heard a male voice hissed.

I scooted a little closer to the edge of the tall filing cabinet and walked on tiptoes to see who they were.

I saw Mr. Dablo, our PR Assistant Head, grasping Leniah's arms.

I tucked my loose hair strands beneath my ear to prepare myself on what they will say.

I turned to face them in a discrete manner by silently opening the dark green folder up until my nose.

I wanted to see who this Leniah was.

I almost gasped when I saw the lady restaurant owner. It was Leni!

Leni was in tears and fear was evident in her eyes as she stared back at him.

Leni hissed back and tried to pull her arm from his tight hold.

Mula sa pwesto ko, about four rows of filing cabinet away, I can record whatever violence Sir Dablo may commit.

With my free left hand, I pulled out my cellphone and checked if it was in silent mode first and camera flash was turned off before snapping a couple of pictures of them.

Sir Dablo asked angrily.

My jaw dropped open with the discovery and lucky enough to have my camera switched to video record.

"Hinihingi mong traydurin ko tong kompanya na to? Ibahin mo ko! " Leni fought back, disgust was now shown in her face.

I quickly stopped recording and placed my phone back to my skirt pocket.

I returned the folder and silently browsed for the ones I am actually searching at.

When I found them, I hugged them to my chest and gently closed the cabinet.

"Pwede ka ng lumabas, Olivia." Leni said and wiped her tears.

I was halted and surprised as I stepped out from the rows of filing cabinet.

"Uh, sorry. Hindi ko alam na may tao kanina. Hindi na din ako nakaalis agad. " I apologized sincerely.

Leni sniffed and hugged me. It felt awkward at first for someone whom I recently became friends with.

I did not know what to do so I hugged her back and let her cry.

She pulled out after a moment.
"Narecord mo ba? Pakitago ha. Wag mo idelete ha. May pakiramdam akong babalikan ako ng ungas na yun. "

I nodded. My thoughts exactly.

I'm not that good in friendship but I'll stay by your side." I said.

Leni squeezed my hand and smiled.
"Thank you.

I nodded again.

"Salamat, Oli!" Leni hugged me again for a second and sighed.

I nodded and giggled. "Tara, alis na tayo dito. Bad memory 'tong inventory room."

I grabbed her hand and we went to our respective offices.
