To understand this story you need to understand the history of this world, before it was even created. A history that I created and now scincerely wish I didn't. It was a thousand years ago, before this world came into being.

There was a mountain, a mountain that was well known. It's name was The Forbidden Mount, for obvious reasons. Surrounding the summit was a shadow, a shadow so great that everything fell before it. Because of this shadow nothing grew around the mountain, and to the west there was a trail of shadow and darkness. No green in that area, which was a stark contrast to the east side, which was full of lush forests and creatures of many different kinds.

However they stayed as far as they could away from the mount, the weeker creatures being the closest for lack of territory. But now not even they were close to this place, for above all the lush creation and shadowy destruction a ferocious battle was taking place.

There was a young man in a creamy white turban, a cape drapped of his shoulder. It was rippling in the great torrent of shadow that ripped past him. His face was obsquered by a cloth like they where in the desert and his eyes were squinting in the darkness. In front of him he held a rather delicate looking sword, a katana. It had a white hilt and its blade was glowing a fiece white light that stabbed through the shadow like a light through the darkness.

A roar was heard in the midst of it all as a dragon appeared from seemingly no where. Without hesistation the man with the light sword leapt into the air, twisting in a somersault over the dragon. As he did his sword dashed out quicker then a bullet, striking the dragon across the neck and severing it's head from its body.

The man landed back on the ground, the sword held loosely in his grasp, but his eyes were ever alert, and his mind even more so. His sword flashed again and it was behind him. It was more glowing eyes then anything, but the eyes were a dark purple and around them was the shadowy outline of a creature. It's body a swirling mass of shadow. It was the swirling mass of darkness called the Forbidden, a creature so disastly evil that a light, no matter how bright couldn't piece it.

A dark blade whipped into existance in The Forbidden's hand as the light and the darkness clashed together. There was no normal sound of clashing steel, for everything was silent. Sound didn't have a place in a fight like this.

The man with the sword of light wasn't even looking at The Forbidden as he did defend against the attack, for he knew that an attack at this point would be futile. The Forbidden was gone in the next instant, and again the swords of light and shadow clashed together. This time the man of light attacked, striking the deadly accuracy, so fast not event the Forbidden Blade could pick up the movement.

A mouth opened as The Forbidden made a silent scream. A cut was made seemingly out of nowhere. The shadow around the man and the Forbidden imploded inwards, casting the man aside as the Forbidden, now in humanoid form fell to one knee. The cut made from the sword wound slowly healed and The Forbidden staggered to it's feet.

The man with the light also staggered to his feet. It was only now that the cuts, bruises and genuine fear in the man's eyes were noticable. Sound was made clear again, as well as visibilty. There were more dragons flying around the now blue sky, probably five. They were standing on a plateau that ended in shear cliffs and the edge crumbled away ever so slowly, making the platform smaller and smaller.

The man with the light seemed to gain some resolve and gripped his sword tightly in his hand, advancing towards the broken Forbidden. The Forbidden glanced up at the man, its eyes glowing a deep purple hatred. The single edged blade of the Forbidden Sword swirled to exhistance in its hand as it leapt upwards. The man with the light wasn't fazed. His glowing katana moved into exhistance, stopping the sword with ease. The Forbidden rose forward for another strike but the sword of light struck him again. The next strike the Forbidden Blade stopped, and the next. But the new wound in The Forbidden's left shoulder was giving him pain.

It leapt backwards with shadow, making the man roll to the side. The Forbidden pointed his finger forward and one of the dragons flew down from the sky, towards the man with the light. It landed in front of him, its normally yellow eyes laced with a deep darkness. The man with the light hesitated when he saw the dragon, backing away slowly, his sword out in front of him. His mouth opened and closed as if he were talking to the beast. It snarled back, and shook its head, trying to fight something, but nothing seemed to work.

The man's mouth moved more desperatly, and he reached out the hand he didn't hold the sword with. The dragon snarled and launched a snap at the man, but he didn't flinch as the white teeth flashed dangerously close to his hand. He spoke again, gently, calmly. The dragon seemed to be in a state of confusion. The darkness around its eyes lightened slightly as the shadow lost the slightest amount of control. It's scales grew lighter in colour revealing a shadowy looking yellow. The Forbidden cursed something, and shadow swung towards the fighting dragon. The man with the light didn't hesistate. He launched himself forward, bringing the blade of light out in front of him. The shadow and the light clashed in there continuing desperate struggle. The dragon behind the man with the light roared in anger and pain and confusion, pooring all the grief, fear and anguish it had felt in the past four years.

The sword with the light snapped in half as it finally lost the struggle of light and shadow. The man with the light was forced backwards as the shadow engulfed him. He cried out in pain and fear as memories that he never had engulfed his head. He struggled to rid himself of the wrath of the Forbidden as it stood straighter, gaining strength from the man's fear. He didn'f count on one thing however.

The dragon of the man with the light attacked the Forbidden, fighting against the pain it had put it through. It's tail lashed sideways, whipping the Forbidden across the waist. It screamed as scales wripped against skin, tearing away a good portion of the shadow's body. It fell to the ground coughing in spluttering. The dragon took advantage of the slight disadvantage of The Forbidden and struck with its claws. The Forbidden threw up its hand and the dragon was court in a net of shadow and fear, as it started to scream.

The Forbidden began to laugh but it was cut short as a dagger, catching the glint of the sun, passed through the creatures heart. It gasped clutching its chest with its hand and staggered backwards. It stared in disbelief as the man with the light looked up to see his throw had flown true.

The Forbidden took one last step backwards. The Forbidden Blade meteralised in his hand of its own accord, before dropping in rejection towards the ground. Instead of disappearing like it usually did it clanged against the ground in a flat refusal to obey the creature that had failed it. The mountain began to rumble and the plateau began to collapse. The dragon lifted itself from the ground and ran towards the man with the light, who had now fallen to the ground unconscious.

The dragon flew from the crumbling mountain. It collapsed in on itself. The Forbidden Blade collapsed with the mountain, but as it did it seemed to laugh at the fleeing dragon and rider. It knew, one day, that it would be back. It knew, one day, there would be no one on this world or any other that would be able to stop it. And when it did come it was in a time where this story had faded into a myth, a myth that people tell as stories to frighten children, a myth that was about to become reality.
