I settled little Yang into the crib. My daughter, Yeri came to kiss her little brother goodnight. A smile carved itself on my face. My heart warmed at them.

Perfect children.

I left Yeri to settle in her bed and stepped out, into the living room to fetch my phone.

I'd told him I don't want a big house, but from the day we moved in, I've always been thankful. It indeed is a perfect home.

I dialed my husband still smiling as he picked it up. His voice rasped into the speaker. "Hello, my love."

I blushed at the endearment.

Perfect husband.

"Hey, I miss you."

"I miss you too. I can't wait for this to be over," he groaned in annoyance. These days he is always swamped.

"Don't overwork yourself. It's not worth it, honey."

"I know. I know. Kiss the kids goodnight for me."

"I will. But who will kiss me?" I giggled.

"Just wait, sweetheart. I'll shower you with-" he got interrupted by someone. I checked the time.

11:00 PM

Is he with someone at this hour?

"Ah, wait. I'm on the phone." He told whoever interrupted him.

"With whom?" I heard a girl ask him in the background. And my heart stopped. Is he with a girl? At this time?

"I'll be there in a minute," he said instead of telling whoever it was that he's talking to his wife, the mother of his children. He can't cheat on me, right?

"Where are you?" I asked flatly.

"Oh, at the set."

"Didn't you text me an hour ago that you're going to the hotel?" I tried not to sound like I'm accusing him of something.

"Yeah, but you know, directors." Why does it feel like he's lying?

"Yeah, right." I could feel a headache building up. He is doing his job. That's what he's doing and I should not let this doubt cloud over my thoughts. "Take care, honey. I'm going to sleep now."

"Okay, sleep well. I'll call you tomorrow." But you never do. It's always me calling you when you're away.

"Okay." I waited for him to say he loves me but all I heard was him hanging up. And I stood there with the phone still stuck to my ear, questioning everything. Everything that was perfect before that phone call. Before all these imperfections seeped in.

Yes I remember what the story was. And no, I haven't gone crazy. This will connect to the story somehow.
