In chapter 6, I mentioned the speech patterns of characters, so I'll just do a recap of that here. Your characters will all have different ways of speaking based on their backstories. Where they were raised, how they were raised, who they were friends with, etc. will all play a role in how your characters speak. If your character grew up in a very religious household, perhaps they refrain from swearing and frown at it. If your character grew up in a large city, they might use different slang than those who grew up in a small town surrounded by farmland. Little details like these will make your characters more believable and will strengthen your dialogue scenes.
