Cassiel and Angels 101

Cassiel was created along with 4 other Angels. They are his chorus and he is theirs. All Angels belong to a chorus, which are groups of angels that range from 4-6, as they are taught together.

In order from oldest to youngest is Cael, Haniel, Raziel, Seraph, and finally Cassiel. Angels all possess wings, reflective eyes of numerous different colors, and wings that take to their personalities as they mature, yet even when created, are all as well vastly different.

While raised in heaven by Gabriel's teachings of service to The Master, he was the last to find his place, given a job angels had long revered as both incredibly important, and frankly, disgraceful. A Hunter. An angel amongst humans, protecting and serving them while wearing their name.

Blending in along with the humans, Cassiel takes his time in searching and hunting creatures of temptation and sin, while studying the nature of the humanity The Master has created and let flourish. Hiding his divinity and strength to the creatures that, many angels continue to believe, should bask in their light.

He upholds his duty with great pride and humility. Knowing how his chorus looks down on him for his role in maintaining balance. But he tends to worry little, as he is for once in his life, given the chance to experience the complexities of humanity for himself. To witness pain and pleasure, to feel and experience them for himself. And change between them when he can.

Angels hold the power of divine light. With it, they can conceal themselves, "put away" their wings, and summon their blessed weapons. They're given a few forms to switch between to avoid being recognized on Earth, they're free to choose what they are but they're only given around 3 options to work on in case of identity change, this is mainly something taught to those who plan to come to Earth at one point or another. They hold bodies that can be damaged and, in certain, incredibly rare circumstances, be scarred. They do possess rapid healing and mending of most illnesses and wounds for the rest of the damage they tend to receive. They're incredibly durable in that regard. In case of emergency, they are also able to "cloak" which hides them from unlighted eyes.

Not all demons in the overworld are kinds Cassiel of other hunters can easily banish. There are standing of demons, in which they possess more power and stealth the higher they are. As well, some come up to Earth in search of repentance. Many of these, ones Cassiel has found can help him in his hunting. Particularly if they sniff out their own kind for him as they cause trouble.

Fallen Angels are also of concern. More powerful than the average demon, incredibly well versed in the knowledge of the heavens and below them, makes them an ample threat at the mention. Not all are dangerous, many wish to simply live away from both divinities to bask in the human world, but from what Cassiel was told, to ever come across one he must always clip their wings.

Many Fallen Angels can become demons with enough corruption to their souls. And to become a demon as a previous Angel is a gateway to a high tier of demonic power. Especially with unclipped wings.

The Master gives life and expects balance. Yet no one but his original chorus are able to contact him to say much different, outside of most angels creation, The Master is only known through teachings and the original stories.

Angel's halos are vessels for their souls and power. They break when their soul is lost, can be given to others, and be used to destroy the Angel itself.

Common thought amongst Angels reign from the idea of being greater beings than humans, each hand crafter by the grace of The Master while the people of Earth had been left to ruin themselves without him. While their duties rely mainly with upholding peace, protecting the Heavens, and resting and gathering souls, for many centuries had humanity been but a small thought to them barely regarded. Though the deploying of hunters has never started, very long ago did Angels begin to find them useless. Almost pathetic.

Naturally this isn't the rule, Angels hold a vast variety of knowledge and thoughts, though many of them shallow given their paradise and pride.

Cassiel doesn't find particular disgrace with his path, though he does find that perhaps humanity has been left unguided, it has never stopped being good.
