Roman and Virgil sat beside each other on the couch. They were laughing lightly at some comment that Virgil had just made. Neither could remember by now what the comment was, or what about it made it so funny. It just was. Laughing with the other made them each feel like their heart's fluttering could lift them from their seat, while they felt grounded and at home at the same time.

Eventually, their laughter died off. A happiness-numbed silence fell between them, and their laughed-teary eyes gazed into the other's. They sat like that for a bit, letting the moment hang between them like a soft satiny curtain.

"Would you two just kiss already?"

The two jumped, and the moment was broken as Patton piped up from behind them. He'd been walking past to go get apple juice from the kitchen, and had stopped when he'd seen the pair on the couch. Neither Roman nor Virgil had any idea how long he'd been standing there.

"Patton!" Roman said, putting a hand to his chest. "Don't do that! You scared the bejeezus out of me."

Virgil turned to look at Patton. "And what are you talking about?"

"Come on, Virge! If you two like each other, you kiss. I thought you knew that?"

Virgil flushed, and looked away. "Okay one, Princey and I do not like each other. And second, that's not how it works!"

"Yes you do, and yes it is."

"It's not that simple, Pat." Roman interjected, avoiding looking at Virgil as he tried to hide the blush on his face.

"Sure it is!" Patton said. "Logic!" He called.

Logan rose from the floor. He looked around, looking a little confused. He was unsure of what he'd just walked in on. "...Yes?" He said, a little hesitant.

"I love you." Patton said without even taking a moment to breathe.

Logan froze. "Wha—"

Patton cut him off, kissing him quickly. He pulled back, and Logan looked like he'd just been hit by a train. Patton, on the other hand, looked very pleased with himself. He turned back to Virgil and Roman with a wide smile. "See?"
