Ayana's P. O. V

"Where is Amber?"

This is Ethan's first question the minute I walk out that door. I shrug before answering his question.

"She's sleepy, so she's not coming."

He gives me a sad expression before nodding his head. I frown before saying out my thoughts out loud, because well, that's what I do.

"Don't worry, I'll try to not fight with you. No one's going to eat you up either. So you don't need to worry about having someone familiar with you."

He gapes at me while I press the lift button continously. We stay like that, he staring at me, me pressing the button, for some time before he decides to talk.

"It will come at the same speed, you know. You punishing this button is not going to make a difference."

"I hate waiting for it. What a waste of time. Why can't it be faster," I frown and he looks at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Calm down, it's almost here," he says and looks up at the floor indicator. I look up too and just then the number changes to 10, the floor we're currently on.

The lift door opens and in the lift are two fifteen year olds who are standing with their noses almost touching the lift mirror.

Typical teenage girls who are fifteen and think their 21.

Their eyes widen in embarrassment and they immediately stop kissing the mirror. They turn around and throw apologetic smiles in my direction before their eyes completely fixate on Ethan.

I enter the lift and roll the tongue in my mouth, trying to control my laughter. Ethan looks flabbergasted and enters the lift with me. We both turn around after entering, our faces now towards the lift door.

Ethan gives me a what-the-hell look and I bite my lower lip to control my laughter.

Girls who like to act older than they are and hit on guys who they see for the first time and probably for the last time.

The elevator indicator pings and the doors open to reveal the ground floor lobby. Ethan pushes past me, making me stumble a little. The two girls walk behind him, hot on their heels. They're frantically waving their hands in the air and hushing to each other.

I'm looking at them, completely enjoying at Ethan's cost. He turns around and the girls completely still, staring at him in awe. He looks at them, completely taken aback and then the cherry on the cake. They sigh in content and Ethan looks at me, completely shocked. I couldn't control it anymore. I laugh out loud.

Ethan frowns at me and I start laughing harder. The girls realise the joke is on them and they hurry away and Ethan stands with his arms crossed. He looks pissed and everytime I control myself and look at him, I start laughing all over again.

"What the fuck was wrong with them!" he mumbles and I shrug.

"Their just girls Ethan. You should be happy you have that kind of an effect on them."

"You're a girl too. You're first reaction was to go all lioness on me,"

"Nah, I like tigress better. About the girl thing, their stupid, I'm not," I say and walk ahead. He just shakes his head and follows me.

"Who is that?" Joshua asks me as soon as we reach the pool side where the rest of my three swimmers- Rochelle, Joshua and Tina are waiting.

"He is your potential male company on the team," I reply and their eyes go wide first before they exchange look with each other.

"Don't worry, none of you will be replaced. That's why I called you guys here. We're going to do a mock relay. Ethan here, will swim in my position. If the timing is better or at least near to what we do, then he will be replacing me," I explain my plan to them, occasionally glancing at Ethan who was listening carefully. I raise my eyebrow at him, asking him if he agrees.

He simply nods at me and I turn towards my team who don't seem a bit happy about this change.

"Ayana, this can't be happening. We just can't replace you like that. We'll loose the extra female swimmer advantage that we have. I'm sorry, I can't let you do this," Tina speaks up and I turn to explain to her.

"Listen-" I start but she cuts me off.

"No, I'm sorry. Not happening."

This pisses me off."No, I'm sorry, you listen to me. I didn't sign up for this alright? I am given the order and I'm following it. So the least you can do is cooperate with me because let's not forget, I'm saving your asses by stepping down. So get into the pool and let me deal with this my way."

Rochelle and Joshua look at Tina who has gone red with the humiliation. Her eyes are wide and jaw is clenched. She looks away before walking off from there and the other two follow.

I turn to look at Ethan who is standing wide eyed and poker face, having absolutely no idea what he has to do.

"Change and get into the pool," I command and he turns to do it before I stop him again,"Ethan, you better prove to be worth the chance I'm giving you."

He nods and I walk off to the locker room to get the timers.

Let's get this shit sorted.

"Faster than what we did, but we need to do better. We can work on it."

I announce the result of the practice swim they just did. They all nod.

"So I guess he's in right?" Rochelle asks her doubt and I nod.

"You're on the team, Ethan. But I won't make you captain," I look at Ethan and he nods,"Tina will be new captain. Congratulations. You guys can leave now. Whenever Tina decides to have practice, let me know. I'll bring him," I announce looking at the others and Tina eyes go wide. Joshua and Rochelle hug her and my phone decides to ring.

"Ah, Rochelle, just wait back. I want to talk to you," I say before answering Krisanne's call.

"Ayana, I made a mistake, I locked Vihaan inside alone at the apartment and he is freaking pissed," Krisanne's small voice cries out from the other end and I laugh out loud.

"How the fuck," I laugh,"did that happen?" I ask between my laughs and she's let's out an annoyed sigh.

"Rey, the douche bag. He knew Vihaan is in there and still he didn't stop me from locking the door from outside, " she explains and that's when a light bulb lights in my head.

Let's burst Rey's little happiness bubble.

"Put the phone on speaker, will you?" I say and she does the needful.

"Rey, can you hear me?" I ask.

"How much did you like my prank?" he asks, his excitement and pride evident on his voice.

I smile evilly before replying."So much that I may have left Amber in the house in the morning to give Vihaan company, so they can both be alone."

Rey goes silent and in the next few seconds I hear Krisanne mumbling stuff.

"Ayana, Amber was your responsibility. You can't leave her in the house!" Krisanne yells and I roll my tongue in my mouth.

Busted.

"Okay Krisanne, I have an idea. I'll take Rochelle with me. So Vihaan will be grateful we solved his fued with her and he will get busy with her. Problem solved."

"I don't care Ayana. Get your ass at home as soon as possible."

"On it." I say and hang up.

Why am I the one cleaning the mess up all the time?

Right, because I'm the reason behind its creation.
