I help load the groceries into the back of Seth's car and then shut the trunk. He starts the engine while I buckle up and we begin to head home from the market, grabbing our groceries for the week. Little does he know, we are making a little pit stop today. I stare out the window to hide my grin because I can't wait to see my big brother's reaction for what's to come.

"So what else do you have planned for this lovely Saturday?" He asks me.

Lovely Saturday it is. "I think I am just going over to Nina's for a girls night, if that is okay?"

I look over and see Seth smirking. "What?" I ask him.

"You know, you are legally an adult now. If you want to go hang out with Dean, you can just say that."

I can't help the giggle that escapes me. "I swear. It is just Nina and I tonight. We need girl time."

"Mmhhmm." Seth rolls his eyes, still smirking, keeping his hands on the wheel. We are coming up to the turn in about a half mile.

"How are things with Dean now? I like that kid. Especially now that I know he wasn't being a dick to you."

Now I am the one rolling my eyes. "Things are great again actually. Although right now we are pretending not to be together at school. We are coming up with a plan right now to get back at that bi-Phoebe."

Seth looks over at me, confused and his brow arched, before turning his attention back to the road. "Say, what do you mean a plan? Like revenge?"

"Well yeah."

"Scar, that doesn't sound like you at all. Why do you feel like you need to get revenge?"

I cross my arms and bore my eyes into him. "You can't be serious? I told you what she did to me. I can't just keep sitting back and being the nice girl and letting her walk all over me and ruin what I have."

"So don't." He simply states. I cock my head to the side confused, waiting for him to finish. He looks at me again briefly before speaking. "All I mean is that, she's not perfect, but neither are you, and the two of you never will be. No one is."

I exhale loudly, annoyed. My arms still crossed. I look out through the window, my breath fogging up the window. I can't believe he is actually comparing me to that...that bitch. Still annoyed, I stay silent, hoping he has more to add to this little speech of his.

"But you can be better than someone. What she did was wrong, I get that and she probably does too"-I look at him with a 'are you serious' face, "I said probably. Maybe deep, deep inside." He giggles.

"But just because she did something jacked up doesn't mean you need to stoop to her level. Be the bigger and better person. The person you have always been and the girl that our parents raised." He pauses, catching his breath. I see him grip the steering wheel tighter.

"Did I ever tell you that Valerie's ex in high school tried to break us up after we graduated?"

I shake my head. "No." I had no idea that she even dated anyone else besides my brother. They have been together since the end of their junior year in high school.

"Yup. She dated this guy, Mitchel, when she was a junior. Months before we started dating. Anyways, so she broke it off with him because he was getting all clingy and just possessive. He was pissed off when he found out we were dating. The night of graduation, we went out to a party to celebrate with everyone and he showed up, drunk off of his ass. He started saying all this crap. 'You like my sloppy seconds Sethy boy? I just fucked her yesterday and she was sucking on my dick. How's my dick taste?'"

I feel my mouth drop. "He said that to you? She...Valerie didn't though...right?"

Seth scoffs. "No, of course not. But I punched him in the face because I let him get to me. We found out that he had been following her around and that is how he knew I wasn't around her when he claimed to...well, you know." I nod. I had no idea this ever happened. I can't imagine Seth even hitting anyone.

"Anyways. The point I was trying to make is, he was pissed off by just seeing us together. You being with Dean, being a couple, is more than enough to get back at her. You have what she wants and if you guys do something or pretend like you aren't together, she will think she has won already or will do something worse if you provoke her. If she bothers you at school, tell your teacher and me. We will handle it. You got Dean, and he has you. Flaunt what you have and don't even waste your time on people like Phoebe."

I nod. He is right. "You are right. I just was so upset when I found out what really happened. But, I do need to just put it behind me and forget the plan. She isn't worth it." I look out the window replaying Seth's words and what happened to Valerie and him. Oh my goodness! Valerie!

"Speaking of Valerie, Seth turn here. I need you to take me by the salon real quick."

We pull up to the salon and walk through the entrance. I scan the black and white room, before spotting Valerie. She is cleaning her station. I clear my throat, trying to get her attention. It works. She looks up from sweeping the freshly cut hair, and looks over to Seth, her eyes glitter with excitement.

"Hey Scar. Hey babe." Valerie greets us. Seth gives her a quick peck on the lips before I go in for a hug.

"I'll go get it real quick. Have him sit down at my station." She whispers into my ear while hugging me. I lightly nod, telling her okay.

"I will be right back, I need to go wash my hands. I just did a cut." She shows us her hands, and then vanishes in the small hallway.

Seth shrugs and sits down at her station. "What did you need to come here for anyway? We still have the groceries to put away."

I search for a plausible explanation as to why I was so adamant on coming here, but I can't come up with one fast enough. Shit.

"Excuse me, are you waiting to get your hair done by Valerie?" The tall red head asks.

"Oh no. I was just waiting for her, but I can move if you have an appointment."

The lady waves off her hand. "No need, no need. I was just dropping off this package for her. Can you make sure she gets it?"

"Sure." Seth replies and the lady smiles widely, before walking off. I recognize her as the lady that works at the smoothie place next door. Seth doesn't drink that stuff so I knew he wouldn't recognize her. Valerie and her are friends and she was the perfect person to set the plan in motion.

"I wonder what this is." Seth says, lifting up the small package.

"What is that you have there?" Valerie asks, immerging from the hallway with a smile that reaches from ear to ear.

"Beats me. Some lady dropped it off for you. Did you order something?"

Valerie shakes her head. "Nope. Do you mind opening it for me real quick? I have Scarlett's shampoo she ordered over here and I need her to make sure it's the right brand." Such a lame lie but we couldn't come up with anything else. We aren't that sneaky.

Seth nods and begins to open the small package, taking his small pocket knife out to remove the duct tape. Valerie and I scurry off to the front counter to watch as he opens the gift. I have been waiting for this moment since the day I drove Valerie to the doctor's.

"Valerie it's a box of like hair color stuff." Seth says loudly, shaking the box close to his ear, making the small object inside move around.

Valerie rolls her eyes and grins. "That man, I swear. In all the years we have been together, he still won't even go through my purse if I tell him to grab something."

"Just open the box." Valerie demands. I know she is extremely ecstatic.

"Okaaay?" Seth says.

Seth pulls the tab out and opens the lid of the hair color box. We both watch as his eyes widen and he covers his mouth with one hand. Looking up, his eyes watery, he pulls out the picture that was inside.

"It says Baby Montgomery." He chokes. "We're having a baby?"

Valerie clasps her hands, bringing them to her chin and nods.

Seth jumps to his feet and picks up Valerie, swinging her around. "I can't believe it! I am going to be a dad. Oh baby, I love you!" Everyone in the salon begins to clap and cheer. Smiles and tears fill the room, and the squeals from both my brother and Valerie.

My brother was right. They have something that Mitchel wanted. Something to be jealous of, just as Dean and I do. Our happiness with each other is what matters. I don't want to spend my time on this earth on people who simply don't deserve my time. I will be the better person. The girl who has Dean and now gets to be an auntie.
