"Neil. Neil. Neil."

"Ugh, what?" The brunet grumbled, rolling over. He was still half asleep, but a smell caught his attention.

"Oh my god, you're the best," he murmured, sitting up in bed. Harrison gave him a small smile and passed him the McDonald's bag. "You're welcome."

"Thanks a million," he breathed, digging through the bag. He glanced up, surprised. "How did you know I like hash browns?" He pulled them out.

The magician shrugged. "I have my ways..." Neil gave him a wary look and he laughed. "Kidding. I asked Max."

He relaxed some and they started eating. A little while later, he cleared his throat. "Hey, um, Harrison?"

"Hm?" The strawberry blond turned to face him.

"I, uh... Wanted to apologize." The scientist mumbled.

He played along. "For what?"

"For being a dick to you back in junior year," he said quickly. Before he knew it the words were tumbling out and he couldn't stop them. "I was being selfish. You didn't want to hurt me, but I was blinded by worry. I thought it was all a game to you. But..." He sighed, avoiding eye contact. "That wasn't the case. I'm sorry."

Harrison couldn't hide his smile. '"It's alright. I've forgiven you. I'm sorry for giving you that impression."

Neil shook his head. "It's not your fault."

The illusionist glanced down at his crush's hand. "Do you wanna..." He reached put and grabbed it lightly. "Try again?"

The scholar tensed up a bit, but soon relaxed. Slowly, he grabbed onto the other's hand. "That'd be nice," he whispered, meeting his eye.

They shared a smile. The silence that surrounded them was comforting. Neil noticed something that day. For once, being with Harrison felt right.
