Julianna stood in the lunch line for food when she felt an elbow hit her ribs. She turned to see who nudged her and looked down at Bert. "Hey Bert."

The boy gave Julianna a smile. "Hi, Jules. Can I... can I sit with you guys at lunch?" Julianna furrowed her brows at him as she grabbed her tray. "Don't you wanna sit with Hawk and them?" Bert frowned, shaking his head. "I can't sit with them anymore. I got kicked out of Cobra Kai."

Julianna did a double take at his words. "What? Why'd you get kicked out?"

"Because I didn't want Clarence to get killed." "Who's Clarence?" Julianna asked as the lunch lady handed Bert his tray. "The mouse Sensei Kreese was gonna let the snake eat!"

Julianna only had more questions after his answer but she decided it was best if she didn't know and shook her head. "Yeah. Okay. Just... come sit with us." Bert smiled as Julianna wrapped an arm over his shoulders and led her to her table.

...

"Today in class, you'll be working with your desk partner." Mr. Smith announced and Julianna could hear Hawk chuckle beside her. "You will be working the remainder if this class period on the assignment but you will also have to work on it outside of class time."

Julianna bit the inside of her cheek as she leaned back in her chair. "You and your partner will have to come up with a chemical substance that when mixed together, makes something that is safe for you all to be around. You will have to record out of school premises of you and your partner doing you experiment."

After Mr. Smith finished explaining the project, Julianna turned in her seat to face Hawk. "Okay, so what should we do?" Julianna asked, looking down at her notebook to write down any ideas but he just kept his eyes on her. After not getting an answer, Julianna looked up at Hawk. "Are you gonna answer the question or..." "What about Elephants toothpaste?" Hawk said, looking up into her eyes. Julianna smiled nodding her head.

"We always wanted to try it but my mom said she didn't want us to burn down the house. Now we can with an excuse. We have school." Hawk said and Julianna smiled more at his words. "Yeah. Yeah that's good."

Hawk smiled, resting his hand on the table, making his hand brush against hers. Julianna smiled as he linked her pinkies. "After school? We can drive to my place or yours. Whichever's easier." Hawk suggested and the bell rang, signaling class was over. Julianna smiled and nodded. "See you after school."

Julianna walked out of the class with a dopey smile, not noticing the longing stare that followed her out.

...

After school, Julianna was at her locker, grabbing all her books when she felt someone stand next to her. "You know I just caught Lexi and Demetri making out in the corner of a hallway?" Joey said and Julianna instantly started laughing as she put her last book in her bag. "You're gonna have to get used to that. They've been all lovey dovey recently."

"You ready to go, Sunshine?" Julianna turned her head and saw Hawk walking up, tossing a soccer ball in the air. Julianna nodded, turning back over to Joey. "Can you tell Lex, I got a ride?" Joey gave Julianna and Hawk a skeptical look before nodding his head.

Julianna closed her locker and smiled and Hawk. "Lets go." Hawk smiled at her and they both started walking to his car. When Julianna was about to get into the passenger seat, her dad called. She looked down at the phone in confusion before answering. "Hey Dad. What's up?"

"They found Robby."

Julianna stopped walking and her breath got caught in her throat. "They... they found him?" "Yeah. Daniel called. He's at the rehab center with your mom. Look, I can't drive you so if you can-" "I'll um... I'll get a ride." "Okay."

Julianna quickly hung up and turned to Hawk. "I have to go." Hawk looked at her confused from the driers seat. "What?" "I'm so sorry. It's an emergency. I promise. We can work on the project later but right now I really have to go." Julianna told him before running away from the car. She wanted to tell Hawk but a part of her was hesitant to. She was running out of the parking lot when she quickly noticed Lexi still parked. She ran to the car, hopping into the backseat startling Lexi and Joey. "You need to drop me off at the rehab center."

Lexi and Joey did a double take at her words and Julianna rolled her eyes. "Not for me! Robby's there with my mom." Lexi's eyes grew wide and she quickly pulled out of the parking lot.

...

Julianna practically jumped out of the car once Lexi got to the center and ran to Daniel. "He's here?" Daniel nodded and gently grabbed her arm. "Yeah, come on."

Julianna walked with Daniel to a garden and her eyes locked with her mothers. Julianna let out a quiet gasp and looked down at her feet. Daniel reassuring squeezed Julianna's arm, knowing their backstory from Robby as her mom walked over.

"He's not right, Daniel. He keeps talking like he's gonna leave town. Please, you have to help him." Julianna's mother practically begged the man and Daniel let go of Julianna's arm and grabbed her mothers shoulders. "I will. But you gotta trust me here, all right? You both do." Julianna looked up at Daniel and nodded her head before looking at Robby.

"Julianna?" Her mother quietly called out and Julianna lifted her head up, meeting her moms eyes from a split second before looking back at her brother. "Julianna, please look at me. I'm trying to get better."

"You weren't even good to me from the start. You broke the first rule of parenting in your first 24 hours of being one. I didn't come here to see you. I came to see Robby." Julianna snapped and walking towards her brother, leaving the adults alone.

She lightly rested a hand on his shoulder. "Hi." Robby jumped at her voice, looking into her eyes before back down at the grass. Julianna sighed, walking over to the empty chair across from him. "I like your haircut." Julianna laughed out. "Not gonna lie, I won't be missing the old hair."

Julianna could've sworn she saw him crack a smile before going back to his stone face. "Are you okay, Juli?" Julianna smiled at his question. "I'm fine. It's gonna take a lot more than a few kicks to the face to knock me down." Robby nodded, looking down and Julianna knew he had a question but he didn't want to ask it. "Sam's fine too. She's worried about you though. We all are. Dad is too."

Julianna looked up and saw Daniel and her mom looking at her, making her shift in her seat. Daniel sighed and walked over to the teens. "Robby, I need to apologize to you."

Robby looked up at the man in shock. "Mr- Mr. LaRusso..." "I know you blame yourself but I let you down. What I said to you the last time we saw each other, that was... terrible. I'm so sorry."

"But you were right. It was a mistake trying to help me. I can't change." Robby instantly spoke back and Julianna grabbed his hand. "We all make mistakes Robby."

"Julianna is right. And our mistakes aren't who we are. You can learn from your mistakes. And I'll help you with that. We both will." Daniel said and Julianna instantly nodded.

"Listen... This next part is gonna be really, really hard, Okay? But this is the best way forward." Julianna turned to Daniel in confusion. "Okay, now I'm lost. What are you talking about?"

"I spoke to a lawyer and he explained to me that it's-" Daniel was cut off by police radios, making the twins sit up straighter. Robby shot out of his chair as a police officer walked up to him.

"What did you do?" Robby asked Daniel. "I told them you'd turn yourself in. Trust me, the sentence will be much lighter."

"Are you crazy?" Julianna asked the man, getting in between him and Robby. "He has to, Julianna."

"You kept talking to me so I wouldn't leave. You used my sister!" Robby snarled at the man. "I was trying to help you."

Robby went running and a police officer quickly grabbed him. "Hey! Be careful!" Julianna screamed at the officer. "Robby, this is the only temporary. I will get you through this, okay? I will visit you every day and if your dad allows it, I'll bring Julianna, I promise."

Robby glared at the man. "Don't bother." Julianna's face fell. "Robby..."

Julianna stood frozen when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. "Juliann-" "Don't touch me." Julianna snapped, moving her shoulder out of Daniel's grasp. "I'm gonna go." Julianna muttered and Daniel sighed, shaking his head.

"Julianna, let me drive you home. You live on the other side of town-" "No. I'll... I'll be fine." Julianna dismissed the man and walked out of the rehab center.

After a couple of blocks of walking, she heard a car pull up beside her. Julianna started walking a little faster until the driver spoke up. "I'm not gonna kidnap you, Sunshine. I was just gonna ask if you needed a ride."

Julianna looked up at the sky, it was already getting dark and she had about 30 more minutes of walking until she got home. Julianna sighed, hoping into the car. "Thank you."

Hawk shrugged as he started driving again. "You don't have to thank me." Julianna nodded and kept her eyes on the passing trees and Hawk sighed, getting tired of the quiet. "Can you talk to me, Jules?" Julianna shrugged. "What do you want me to say?"

It was quiet for a second as he tried to think of a question and once he did, he turned his head slightly to her. "Where'd you go?" Julianna looked away from the window and to Hawk. As their eyes met, a part of her knew she couldn't lie to him. She sighed and looked ahead at the road. "They found Robby. He was at the rehab center visiting mom. I went to go and see him."

"So you saw your mom?" Hawk asked, turning to face her again but making sure to look at the road out of the corner of his eye. "She tried to talk to me but I shut her down..." Julianna mumbled, looking down at her hands when she saw another hand appear from off to the side and grab hers. Julianna looked up at Hawk who was smiling at the road. "Good. She doesn't deserve you."

Julianna smiled slightly, squeezing his hand a little tighter when she heard him mumbled something. "I miss holding your hand." She immediately felt heart rush to her cheeks as she smiled. "Me too."

Hawks head while to face her. "Really?" Julianna looked at him for a second, not knowing what to say so she nodded her head instead. Julianna felt the car stop and looked up. He was already at her house. "I should get inside. We can work on the project tomorrow." Julianna asked and Hawk smiled softly. Julianna quickly leaned towards him, kissing his cheek before hopping out of the car and walking into her house.

Hawk stared at her front door in shock, feeling his face grow hot as his hand slowly went up to his cheek where she had kissed him, the smile in his face on growing bigger and bigger.
