The Friendship

From the amount of time we were spending together, people started to suspect that we were going out. Rumours flourished and soon enough we started getting jealous and hurt glares from Her.

I told myself if she wanted to know for sure, she could just come and ask. 'If she didn't feel it was important to tell me about her new boyfriend, I didn't have to let her know that me and Mandy were not an item.' That was my mentality, selfish I know, but that wasn't my intention. I just wanted to give her a reason to come and talk to me. She never did.

Throughout that whole 'shunning' period, Mandy and I hardly spent any time apart. She was at my house almost every day, and she even slept over from time to time. I was virtually her only friend since all her friends were also Heather's friends, so you can guess whose side they were on in all this drama.

My friends, on the other hand, weren't the kind to help you through heartbreak. They were more useful for when you wanted to get back in 'the game' after you got over the heartbreak.

Mandy and I were having a wonderful friendship, but things started to quickly change when she fell in love with me.
