"This makes no sense!" Charlize yelled, throwing her hands up in the air. She and Robin had been working on figuring out the code, but Robin had to serve ice cream. But ten minutes earlier, Andrea had come back, tired of her brother and Steve being stupid.
"I know it doesn't." Andrea said, trying to calm Charlize down. "But we're trying to make sense of it."
"I know." Charlize chuckled. Andrea picked up her paper and stared at it.
"Why are russians talking about China?" She wondered.
"Maybe they have something hidden there." Charlize suggested.
"Oh, maybe." Andrea agreed.
"And what's the silver cat?" Charlize asked.
"Maybe it looks like this." Andrea said, holding up her sketchbook. On the page, Andrea had drawn a picture of a cat. Charlize raised her eyebrows.
"What?" Andrea asked. "I was bored, I was thinking of what the silver cat is, I drew it. Sue me."
"I thought you said the silver cat might be a person." Charlize said.
"Yeah, and you said it might be a weapon." Andrea added.
"True. True." Charlize smiled.
Andrea stood up from her chair and walked around the room. She made sure Robin was busy, which she was, and then sat back down.
"Do you think this has anything to do with the upside down?" She asked.
"What? But I thought El closed the gate last year." Charlize exclaimed.
"She did. Not denying that. But what if the russians figured out how to open it?" Andrea suggested.
"Impossible. El was the one who opened the gate originally. You know that." Charlize argued. She knew Andrea might be right, but didn't want to worry about the upside down again.
"Yeah. I know. But who knows? Maybe russians have their own equivalent of the lab. Maybe they have an equivalent of El. Maybe they have a gate." Andrea explained.
"Any leads?" Robin asked, opening the window and peering in.
"Nope." Andrea said. She liked Robin and didn't want her involved in all this government conspiracy and superpowers stuff.
"Dang it." Robin said. Just then, there was a knock at the door. Robin swung her legs over the window and climbed in the back room and opened the door. A man with a beard and mustache stood there. He was wearing a black shirt that said LYNX on the pocket and a matching hat. He was holding a package and a clipboard.
"Delivery for you." He said, handing Robin the box.
"Thank you." She replied. The man handed Robin the clipboard and pen and she signed the paper.
"Have a nice day." The man said.
"Yeah you too." Robin replied. Andrea and Charlize both saw how her eyes drifted from the man's pocket to his hat. Andrea and Charlize stood up and followed Robin stepped out of the room and glanced at the man's shirt. A picture of silver cat was on the back
"Silver cat." She said. "Silver cat!" All the girls shared a look, excited.
"Hey guys, you're never gonna believe who Dustin thought was a russian." Steve said, walking in.
"You did too." Dustin argued.
"No I did not." Steve snapped. Robin, Andrea, and Charlize shoved their way through them
"Shut up." Andrea said to her brother and friend.
The girls ran out of the store and into the middle of the mall. They jumped up on one of the plant/bench spots and stared around the mall.
"A trip to China sounds nice." Robin said, looking for something in the mall that had to do with China. Charlize spotted the imperial panda restaurant and pointed.
"There!" She said. Robin, Andrea, and Charlize smiled. Then they started looking for "if you tread lightly."
"If you tread lightly!" Robin said, pointing at Kaufman shoes.
"When blue meets yellow in the west!" Andrea finished, pointing up at the clock, which had a blue and yellow hand.
"Guys, what are you doing?" Steve asked as he and Dustin emerged from Scoops Ahoy.
"We cracked it." Robin said excitedly.
"Cracked what?" Steve asked. The girls jumped down.
"We cracked the code." She said.
