Where's Pikachu??

This thought hit Ash like a truck. He clutched tightly on his fork.
He gaped at the room, trying to find his yellow rodent buddy with a little hope.

Oh no - where's he?

In the middle of Ash's mental breakdown, Serena out of nowhere noticed his behaviour.
"H-hey, Ash, are you okay? You don't seem fine..." She asked him tenderly. 

"I... I gotta go!" He slammed his fork back onto the table - he had completely lost his appetite now. Everybody looked at him, clearly bewildered.

He rushed out of the house - where was he?
Oh no... could he possibly got lost in the forest without him knowing? Did he get lost in the fair? Or did he fall into the river of Cerulean?

NO! he shook his head. Pikachu is fine, he repeated to himself, he just can't find his way back home...

He pushed the gates of his house open. He could hear his mom's and friends' muffled voices behind him, probably telling him to come back - but he didn't care.

I need to find him... where are you, Pikachu?

He didn't care about anything - he just ran and ran, wearing a pair of black bathroom slippers and disappeared in the starry night.

Confusion, shock and bewilderment was written all over Clemont, Serena, Bonnie and Delia's face.
"Where did he go off too?!" Yelled a shocked Clemont.
Serena and Bonnie just stood there, traumatised, while Delia tried running after him but stopped at the gate.

Ash's POV
__

I ran and ran and ran. My heart was beating fast, and chest kept rising and falling rapidly. I took a moment and stood there, my hands over my knees, as I panted for air.

Come on, Ash, remember... remember everything about today...
I forced my brain all over it. I remembered getting off the plane, coming to my house, then going to the fair, and meeting Misty... then we talked for a while, and Pikachu was still with me... and - did he... jump at Misty? Next, I remember Daisy calling her, then Misty left.

Oh.. Oh... Oh no! Is... Pikachu with Misty? I could feel myself being swept away form a panic wave.

I shut my eyes close.
Pikachu is with Misty... Pikachu likes Misty! This means that... Pikachu is safe!
Sighing with relief, I open my eyes again.

But, I still wasn't sure. If Misty noticed Pikachu, she'd come right back running, clearly very furious.
But, Misty hadn't come back...

Confusion struck me. Should I go over to the Cerulean City...?

I'd probably go there tomorrow...

But, what if Pikachu was never at Cerulean, and was probably wandering somewhere searching for us...?

Oh no, Pikachu, I'm sorry...

Cerulean is quite far away... It'll probably the crack of dawn when I reach there.
I took out my Pokèball. 

Hawlucha, you gotta do this.
"Hawlucha! I choose you!"
Hawlucha appeared after me, but he seemed a little groggy.

"Hawlucha, Pikachu's lost - you've got to find him - now!" I stuttered out some words.

Hawlucha seemed to understand it completely, and dashed up in the air. It was so dark, that the forest almost looked scary - I was getting impatient and scared.
My knees started to become weak, but I held myself together, this was getting so scary. 

Should I go inside the forest? I don't have any source of light and Pikachu was probably wandering inside it.

That's it - I'm going in.

Narrator's POV

Without hesitating once again, Ash dashed inside the forest. Darkness had completely took over now, and the sky above was barely visible. His heart pounding fast, he dashed across the dark woods, getting more and more anxious as he took every step forward.

Nothing's wrong - he's fine - don't loose hope!
He kept repeating these words in his head. Still running, running and running, hearing scary sounds in the forest that gave him chills - he tried to pull himself back together.
