Shehnaaz didn't know her husband had such a bad temper, nor did she have any idea if she was getting married to a bipolar person. Sidharth wanted to be left alone and undisturbed, he was being stubborn and ridiculous, avoiding having food and preferring alcohol and not to forget getting all rude. He didn't go to the office for a day and when he resumed it, there was no improvement in his behaviour.

"Aunty, can I talk to you for a minute?" Shehnaaz went to Ramya for help. Even though she didn't like her at all, maybe she could help her for Sidharth's sake.

"I can see you're worried about him." Ramya replied, as the two ladies took a seat in the living area after he left.

"Wo bohot pareshan hai aunty. He's not taking it well at all, he's been drinking so much." Shehnaaz mentioned.

"I know." Ramya nodded, agreeing with her.

Shehnaaz looked at her deadpanned, what did she mean by a hum? Everyone knew he was drunk, everyone has been watching him for two days!

"Lekin isme hum kya kar sakte hai?" Ramya asked.

"What do you mean by kya kar sakte hai? Usey samjha sakte hai! Meri toh sunne se raha, aap hi kuch kyu nahi bolti!? Aap toh usey itne saalon se janti hai! Aap ko dikh nahi raha usne kya halat bana rakhi hai apni? Abhi breakfast bhi thik se karke nahi gaya!" Shehnaaz ranted out.

"Hold on. Mujhe bolne bhi do." Ramya said, straightened her back and turned all her attention to the girl in front of her.

"Just so you know, Sidharth is a very private person, mai usey kafi saalon se janti hu isliye yeh bhi janti hu ke wo baatein kitni kam share karta hai. Mai chah ke bhi usse baat nahi kar sakti, usey accha nahi lagega." She added.

"Aisa kyu?" Shehnaaz questioned.

"Kyuki hum iss ghar me rehte zaroor hai lekin ek saath nahi hai. There's a limit to things we talk about." Ramya said, looking slightly uncomfortable.

"What does that mean?" Shehnaaz couldn't understand whatever her reason was, it seemed quite a puzzle.

"You won't understand this now. Kisi din wo tumhe khud batayega." Ramya explained and left, to avoid any further discussion.

"Kya ajeeb aurat hai." Shehnaaz wondered, sighing defeatedly because none of her words made sense at that moment. The least she could do was care about Sidharth's well being.

She wanted to give him some time to get back to his normal self but it had already been 2 days and he had only immersed himself in work in the meanwhile. But what could she even do if her husband wasn't even around to take care of, the guy was not even available for anyone to talk. She was surprised with this closed up and I'm fine on my own kind of behaviour.

If it would not have been for the highway tender sold to the Singhanias, Sidharth would have taken her to the resort in Alibaug he was talking about. But here they were, working on a saturday night with certainly no plans for the weekend. The most she could do to go out was visit her mother and take her out but she didn't wanna leave Sidharth and inviting him over to her father's place was out of question to let her father talk to him about work. Because that's what he needed to take a break from, a small weekend away from work might have been a good idea until he realized.

"Shehnaaz! Shehnaaz!" She heard her husband screaming his name.

"Kya hua?" She rushed to her bedroom from the dining area where they were about to have their meal.

"Kya hai yeh? Kyu itna faila rakha hai sara saman?!?" He shouted at her, looking around her clothes and handbag on the bed, her sandals nearby.

"Abhi saaf kar deti hu." She replied, getting started with it.

"Can't you be organised for once!?!" He added as his voice picked up some volume.

"Can you not be so snappy for once? Why are you shouting?" She retorted, he was shouting at her for such a silly reason.

"Because look around! Ye halat bana ke rakhi hai mere room ki! I can't even walk into a neat and clean room for once after all day at work. Apne ghar me aisi rehti hogi tum, yeh mera room hai toh thik se rehna seekhlo!" He replied, accusing her for creating the mess, caring less about his harsh tone.

"First of all, acche se baat karo mujhse! Tum upset ho isliye tumhe kuch bolti nahi hu iska matlab yeh nahi ke ulta mujhpe chillane lagoge!" She retorted, having enough of his attitude.

"Ek second! Kya boli? 'Mai!' upset hu? Isliye 'tum!' mujhe kuch nahi bol rahi. Nahi, please mujhpe koi mehrbani mat karo. Bolo jo bolna hai! Come on!" He spat as his face grew harder, jis jaw tightened and he stepped ahead.

"Sidharth, I didn't mean it that way, mai nahi chahti ki-" she began to explain because she realised what she just said is probably going to make him more mad.

"Nahi. Jo actually me mann me hai wo bolo! Don't sugarcoat it for me, say it on my face!" He challenged her.

"Arey jo mann me hai wohi bola! Tum galat samajh rahe ho! Do din theek se baat nahi kar rahe ho, sabko avoid kar rahe ho! We all know the reason and you don't have to be so confined with us!" She replied, stepping ahead as well and trying to get a hold of his hand.

"Oh please!" He darkly chuckled, keeping his hands on the side of his waist and looking away.

"Sidharth! Tum kyu samajhne ki koshish nahi kar rahe yaar mera wo matlab hi nahi tha! And yes of course you can have all the space you want." She suggested, not being able to see him even more disturbed because of her.

"Wow ha? Faad do bill mere naam pe, mujhe bana do bura! Ban jao tum bichari! Just great!" He smirked, not liking the way she had been sympathizing with him.

"Oh just shut up! You know what, tumse baat karna hi bekar hai!" She replied, wishing if she could just bang his head in the wall and set him right.

"Right, right. Toh mat karo mujhse baat! Kyu takleef le rahi ho!" He replied with a smile, totally laced with annoyance and anger so she held his hands and tried to pull him closer.

"Don't. Don't touch me!" He jerked her hands away, not wanting her to be bothered about him and leaving the room immediately.

He skipped dinner again, unlike the past few days and decided to sleep in the study after spending a few hours working there. He didn't want to see her again for a while but had to grab a quilt at least, he could use the living area's cushion. He stepped into the room to find it all tidied and cleaned up, be it the night stand, the dressing table or anything.

However, there was a card with a small bunch of flowers on his side of the side desk, freshly plucked from their garden because he recognised those roses and jasmines. 'I'm sorry.' It said in her handwritten letters. He sighed, of course a few hours away from her had helped him calm down and realize that he might have overreacted a little.  He walked over to her side to find her fast asleep, but he couldn't miss the slightest of the puffiness in her eyes as if she had cried.

Good job husband, he regretted talking to her in that manner. He wanted to punish himself for hurting her because it was her, his wife, the woman who had been really trying to work on their relationship and had brought him out of his shells and made him believe that they could spend a life together. He didn't mean to shout at her or argue with her at any point, it was just the certain things going inside his head that were keeping him pretty occupied and, yes she was right, he was upset and was confining himself from the daily interaction.

But how could he not be devastated when he lost one of the biggest opportunities he could have ever gotten. The highway's tender meant a lot, in terms of money, in terms of name and fame and in terms of his expanding network and claim to be actually one of the best construction companies in the country.

For the last few days, he felt like quitting, giving up on everything and coming back home. It was a bad phase, everyone was looking down on him, pitying him, there was useless advice coming from all around and he definitely couldn't see a bright future for himself, especially now that he had a wife, he was afraid that she'd feel let down, apart from his late parents.

Also, his dearest mom and dad wouldn't be proud either that their son wasn't able to handle the business by himself. The fact that their death anniversary was around, he felt all the more depressed and burdened with the failure. He regretted not working hard enough to be the son they wanted him to be.

"Shehnaaz.." he whispered to check if she would listen after joining her on the bed from the other side but she had already slept.

Nevertheless he scooted closer to her, realizing that it would be her decision to make what she thought of her husband. He could only give his best to keep her happy and maybe even proud. Spooning her, he tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear and kissed her head lightly before letting himself loose into the darkness of the room.

"Yeh do bags hai, rakh do gadi me." The next morning Ramya told the butler.

"Sidharth ko bata dena mai ja rahi hu. I'll be back in a few days I suppose, I'll call jab bhi aana hoga." She added, informing Pia who was walking behind her.

"Ji mam, I'll inform sir. Take care, mam." Pia replied. Ramya nodded before getting into the car and the driver drove them out of the gates, city, towards her own place in Pune.
