Shehnaaz was sulking because she had fought with her husband. Even though she might have said things that hurt him, it was because his words did the same thing to her.

The day before yesterday while Sidharth was revealing the inspection reports to her, her father had used his Twitter handle to announce the news of her pregnancy with the media and there were reporters and cameramen all around the Chopra mansion the next day as a consequence. She was really upset with this behaviour of her father and had expressed it quite clearly that he didn't have the right to share anything related to her case.

The next day, she had ran into her father during work but he didn't even ask how she was doing and it made her realize a lot of things. Her father's ignorance was not a new thing but today it made a difference after their argument.

"You still don't want me to take any action against your father?" He had asked her.

"Aisi baat nahi hai yaar. I know ke unhone galat Kiya hai, aur iss tweet ke liye toh mujhe bhi bada gussa aa raha hai. Kabhi ek kaam sahi se nahi kar sakte, humesha humare achhe time pe inko dakhal Dena hota hai!" She replied, sitting in the bed with a sigh.

"I hate him, I hate his guts!" She added. They had returned home the other day after a bunch of media people had followed Sidharth, congratulated him for their upcoming baby and asked if she was pregnant before they got married as per the rumours. Shehnaaz however managed to escape those people by using the mansion's other exit.

"Listen to me, let me do this. I'll handle your father after we dissolve this partnership, I promise. Varna aise tamashe wo humesha karte rahenge." He told her, taking a seat on the bed next to her.

"No Sidharth, I don't want you to do this. Ye asaan nahi hoga! Aur mai ye isliye nahi bol rahi kyuki mujhe tere pe bharosa nahi hai. I believe in you the most out of all the people I know! Aur mai Papa ki side toh definitely nahi le rahi!" She replied.

"Toh kya problem hai tujhe?" He asked irritatedly. The more they were going to wait before filing a case against Sukhbir, the more time he would get to escape through his fraud.

"Iske liye kar rahi hu mai ye sab." She answered, taking a hold of his palm and keeping it over her belly and watching his demeanor change immediately as his face softened.

"We're going to be parents in a few months, husband! Jab wo paida hoga toh mai chahti hu ke usko sabhi pyar kare. We won't be able to raise our baby in an environment that's not peaceful and filled with love. Samajh raha hai tu?" She explained him while keeping her palm on his cheek.

"Hmm." He smiled for a moment but his smile faltered because he couldn't let Sukhbir just go like that and continue with his misconduct.

"I promise you, we'll raise our baby with utmost love in the safest environment. Mai usko protect karunga! Tu uski tension mat le." He told her, enveloping his arms around her. She sighed, upset and dejected that her husband was not realising to what extent her father could go.

"Nahi, I've seen Mummy, wo chah ke bhi kuch nahi kar payi thi. I don't want to take any chances Sidharth, please samajh!" She insisted, a little loudly this time and wished that he'd give in.

"She suffered because she didn't go against your father! Jaisa chal raha hai, vaisa hi chalta rahega yadi koi kuch karega nahi!" He replied and watched her get angry at his statement.

"My mother did everything she could do for us! Tujhe pata nahi hai ke Papa kitne manipulative ho sakte hai, isliye tujhe samjha rahi hu. Unko ko kamzor mat samajhna kabhi!" She retorted, getting up to face him properly. Did he really believe that Parminder would have never tried to get her husband back on track with a divorce ultimatum? She did and that idea had seemed to help for a while but not completely.

"That's not what I meant!" He immediately replied, taking a hold of her hand.

"Sidharth please yaar, maan ja yaar. Tu unko warn kar, dara, dhamka, lekin itna bada step mat le. Wo hume humari sari zindagi pareshan karte rahenge nahi toh." She requested softly.

"Toh in short, mai bhi unki tarah ban jau? Kya farq reh jayega hum dono me? Shehnaaz, tu sirf in sab ko ek hi angle se dekh rahi hai, baba! Mera poora career stake pe hoga jab tak wo mere partner rahenge! Your father's a snake and I do not want him around me and my business anymore." He shook his head, refusing to change his mind.

"Jab tune decide kar hi liya tha toh mujhse kyu baat kar raha hai?" She asked him, crossing her hands against his chest.

"Mai tujhe aur nahi mana sakta ab! I can't do anything unless you don't grow a spine and stand up for yourself." He stated before getting into the bed because she just wouldn't understand.

He had believed that she'd agree with him and support him in this but maybe he was asking for too much. After all she was Sukhbir's daughter! Stubbornness was a trait in their family!

"Na mana! Lekin itna yaad rakhna ke tere iss decision ke baad jo bhi hoga, wo hum sab ko affect karega. Apni baat hoti toh kuch nahi bolti, bacche ke liye tujhe samjha rahi thi!" She huffed, equally mad at him for being so driven towards his work. She should have not expected this much from a businessman like him who had agreed to marry a mere stranger for the sake of a partnership.

"Bhaag hi jana chahiye tha shaadi se pehle. Na hoti shaadi, na hote itne siyappe!" She mumbled but he heard her.

"Yeah, right. Right. Right. Mujhe bhi nahi karni chahiye thi shaadi, baap-beti dono mil ke sirf dimag kharab karna jante hai!" He retorted, wanting to hurt her because it hurt him when she wished she should have run away. The fact that she believed that her life would have been better without him, hurt a lot.

"Mera naam unke sath mat jod tu! Jab se dekh rahi hu your father, your father karke bolta hai! Meri kya galti inn sab me?" She sat up, her sleep was completely gone after he compared her with her father.

"Hai, tu unki beti hai na? Bas yahi ek problem hai!" He said and hurt like hell. The fact that he counted her in the list of problems her father had created for him, hurt like hell.

"Toh kyu nahi chhod deta mujhe? Khatam karde sab, partnership bhi aur yeh shadi bhi! Kyu aaye mai aur mera baccha tere business ke beech?" Her words felt like a slap on his face.

"You take that back!" He shouted, getting up and moving close to her.

"This is my baby as well and I'm not going to let you get away with it, samjhi tu? Koi kahi nahi jayega!" He seemed so angry that it scared her for a moment.

Tears escaped her eyes and cried silently, they had never been this ugly, demeaning and hateful towards each other but what happened today? They had always been cooperative but this argument got carried away like anything. From talking him out of the idea of this partnership dissolution, they had escalated to the topic of their separation. She shouldn't have gone so far but she couldn't help but notice how he pinned her for being Sukhbir's daughter even though he knew what all she and Parminder had been through. How could he mock her weakness?

Sidharth looked away, got up and left the room because he had never been this anxious, furious and alarmed at the same time. He was frantically moving back and forth in his study after his unexpectedly ugly fight with his wife. Almost none of his words were actually true, he only wanted to hurt her in the moment to give her a taste of her own medicine but it unintentionally went too far. He was somewhere disgusted with himself and for making her feel low and blaming her for having Sukhbir's blood. It definitely wasn't her fault but she shouldn't have tested his patience and especially mentioned a separation. He didn't know he'd be able to live without her and their child, a major part of him was ready to drop the idea of filing the case against Sukhbir but a small part of who wanted to protect his father's company was still ready to fight for it.

He couldn't sleep the entire night after their argument and the next morning, with the way her eyes looked swollen, he realised that she was up all night as well. His heart ached to see her that way but his blocked mind didn't let him ask if she was not feeling well. Nor could she bring herself to apologise to him and confront him about last night, she was mad at him.

Shehnaaz couldn't hold herself back anymore by the evening, her own words had been eating her up, she was ridden with guilt and regret and decided to make her way towards Sidharth. She had just parked her car in the office lobby when she saw him walking out of the elevator.

"Are you okay?" He asked her when she hugged him tight.

"I'm sorry! I am sorry, meko aise nahi bolna chahiye tha." She sobbed as she apologized to him and felt him rubbing her back, while guiding her towards her car. He got scared when she ran to hug him and began to cry.

"Calm down." He mumbled, caressing her sides.

"I didn't mean any of those either. I'm sorry." He sighed and apologized to her in the hug, realizing his set words would have hurt bad as well.

"Tu tension mat le, I won't-" he was going to tell her that he'd dissolve his partnership only when she'd agree.

"I think you should do it." She interjected and it surprised him.

"Dekh, mere liye Ha mat bol." He told her.

"Pehle tere liye hi mana kar rahi thi, iss bari apne liye Ha bol rahi hu." She replied, her sentence had a hint within and he could understand what she meant.

"Nahi! Teko pata aaj kya hua? Papa mile, ek event host kar rahi thi mai. Mera haal-chaal tak nahi pucha unhone, Sidharth. Ulta meri pregnancy ki news sabko bata ke badhaiyan le rahe the. Mujhe itna kharab kabhi nahi laga." She cried as she told him about the encounter.

"I don't want to be like him nor do I want to encourage him in any way." She added.

"Aye, tu vaisi bilkul bhi nahi hai! Koi comparison nahi hai tera aur uss admi ka. You're the best person I've ever come across, my love. You're not like him, not at all." He cupped her face as he talked to her.

"I'm sorry meri jaan. I promise, this was the last time." He promised her and himself to protect his family for once and for all. He was not going to let Sukhbir hurt her ever again, it was going to cause chaos now but it was for the betterment of their future, their baby and everybody.

"I know ye tere Papa ki company hai, tu isko bachane ke liye hi sab kuch kar raha hai." She mentioned and gained his attention again.

"Pehle baat company ki thi lekin ab humari hai. I can't let you go, not now, not ever." He told her since they reminded her about her words last night.

"I'm not going anywhere. Jaha tu, wahi mai." She smiled and replied, resting her forehead against his head.
