Ned. It's time. For class.

And I'm not letting you join the chat

Ned
Why not?!?

Peter
Because you'll just hack into his phone!

Ned
*sad sigh*

Peter
Smh

Ned
Pleeeeeease

Peter
No.

Ned
Finnnnne

>>>You are now texting Dr. Ruffalo and Coffee Einstein<<<

Parker
Hello!!

Dr. Ruffalo
Good afternoon Mr. Parker

Coffee Einstein
Sup kid

Dr. Ruffalo
Aren't you in a meeting?

Coffee Einstein
Not an important one

Dr. Ruffalo
Kind of important

Parker
A business meeting?

Coffee Einstein
More like a... non-business meeting

Parker
CoOl

Coffee Einstein
(;

Parker
:D

Dr. Ruffalo
Back on topic please

Parker
Sorry

Dr. Ruffalo
I believe I said we're starting Electrostatic Problems today, correct?

Parker
Yup!

Dr. Ruffalo
Alright. I'll walk you through the first one, then see if you can answer the rest on your own

Sound good?

Parker
Yup

Dr. Ruffalo
Great

Two identical objects, separated by a distance d, with charges equal in magnitude but of opposite signs exert a force of attraction of - 2.5 N on each other. What force do these objects exert on each other if the distance between them becomes 2d?

Let the two charges be q and -q. The magnitude of the force that q and -q, separated by a distance d, exert on each other is given by which law?

Parker
Coulomb's law

Dr. Ruffalo
Which is?

Parker
F = k (q) (- q) / d2 = - k q2 / d2 = - 2.5 N

Dr. Ruffalo
Correct.

So the magnitude of the force F2 that q and -q, separated by a distance 2 d, exert on each other is given by Coulomb's law, which would equal

Coffee Einstein
F2 = k (q) (- q) / (2 d)2 = - k q2 / 4 d2 = F / 4 = - 2.5 / 4 = - 0.625 N

Dr. Ruffalo
...

Coffee Einstein
...sorry

Parker
O.o

Dr. Ruffalo
Anyway

Here's the problem you need to solve

And not you, Coffee Einstein

Coffee Einstein
ಠ_ಠ

Dr. Ruffalo
The distance between two charges q1 = + 2 μC and q2 = + 6 μC is 15.0 cm. Calculate the distance from charge q1 to the points on the line segment joining the two charges where the electric field is zero.

Parker
So...

At a distance x from q1, the total electric field is the vector sum of the electric E1 from due to q1 and directed to the right and the electric field E2 due to q2 and directed to the...

Left.

The vector sum is equal to zero if the magnitudes of the two fields E1 and E2 are equal since they have opposite directions

The magnitudes of the two fields E1 and E2 are given by

E1 = k q1 / x2

And

E2 = k q2 / (15 - x)2

E1 = E2 gives the equation

k q1 / x2 = k q2 / (15 - x)2

And then we cross multiply and simplify?

Dr. Ruffalo
Yes

Coffee Einstein
Yes

Dr. Ruffalo
Go back to your meeting

Coffee Einstien
You aren't there

Dr. Ruffalo
Because I'm teaching!

Coffee Einstein
So am I!

Parker
q1(15 - x)2 = q2 x2

Which may be written as

(15 - x)2 / x2 = q2 / q1 = 3

Coffee Einstein
Now solve for x

Parker
(15 - x) / x = ~+mn~ √3

Dr. Ruffalo
That gives us two equations, but only one is positive, which means

Parker
x = 15 / (1 + √3) ≈ 5.50 cm

Dr. Ruffalo
Correct!

Coffee Einstein
Good job kid

"Stark!" Tony looked up from his phone. "Yeah?"

"Are you paying attention?" Fury was staring hard at him. "No."

"What are you doing then?"

"Same thing as Bruce," came the response. "Bruce is teaching," Natasha said.

"I know. I'm helping." Tony said as if this was the most obvious thing in the world. He glanced at his phone. Bruce was telling him to pay attention to his meeting.

Again.

Dr. Ruffalo
Go back to your meeting. You need to pay attention!

Coffee Einstein
I'm multitasking

Parker
xD

Dr. Ruffalo
Don't encourage him.

Coffee Einstein
Pirate Man is taking my phone anyway

Parker
Pirate man?

Dr. Ruffalo
His boss.

I think we're done here for today! Here's the link for your homework:

Uh, sorry. That was the wrong link.

Parker
All good!

Peter tugged on his suit, then slipped his phone into the pocket made specially for it before pulling his mask over his face. He knew there was some important meeting about The Gambler with a guy called Steve Lestrange, or something, that he had been expected to attend—but Mr. Stark had told him to finish school before coming, and it had taken a bit to finish all the history questions. Since the meeting was most likely over by now, and The Gambler wasn't really his territory, anyway—he had his hands full with Shocker and saving cats and helping people carry their groceries already—and he figured he might as well patrol.

He opened the window and jumped off the sill, climbing to the top of the apartment complex, planning to apologize for not being there the next day.

He didn't know then he wouldn't be able to.

MWAHAHAHAHA! You guys will just have to wait until the next chapter to find out what happened next.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
YOU JUST GOT RICKROLLED
Thank you to the lovely Moon (LunarSilverMoon) for the idea
Love you guys!
