hello kiddos!

i realised, that i never actually finished this chapter, soooo..... rather old drawing incoming ^-^"

either way, welcome to the yearly redraw of sun and moon! ngl this piece is really the epitome of my artistic development over the years, since i drew it so often, haha... either way, here we are again on memory-lane concerning my art :)

in good old 2016, art wasn't even my hobby yet. i just wrote and had fun doodling random shit on school notes.. really, nothing good or impressive. we had to draw a meeting between royals for school that year, and since i just was developing the plot for my novel "sun & moon" i decided to draw those two >w<

then in 2018 i started to draw more often... mainly traditional with watercolours and then later on alcohol markers... which is how this redraw was birthed

in 2019 i finally got my first drawing tablet... and oh boy was it a ride....

i remember really not liking my 2019 rendition, but now i don't even find it too bad... especially in comparison to my other drawings at the time, hehe ^-^"

2020 was interesting as well... i really didn't like drawing girls... so when it came to my redraw for the year, i redesigned my boii daemon and.... never actually added angel..... (yeah... my naming capabilities weren't the best when creating the story and i didn't rename them till this year ^-^")

and now... well.. honestly i am proud of this piece. not because i really like it, but simply because you can really see how i improved over the years. the expressions, textures, shading.... i really developed an artstyle here and made my art a lot more recognizable.

lighting also got better and i EVEN ADDED A HAND.

essentially... i kinda settled down into this hobby and don't have the feeling anymore, that my abilities and knowledge limit my creations. i find it fascinating how in 5 years this random past-time thing i did when i was bored, became my main hobby and the dram, to sustain me in the future.

i also love how much just... repetition, not giving up, studying, learning and never being scared to make drastic changes have payed off the way it did. i have finally found a thing that i can be confident in and proud of. just... something i do for myself and for nobody else, and that is fun, whenever and however.

other than that... well... i drew this thing quite a while ago, so i don't remember too much else ^-^"

i still hope you enjoyed the read though and liked to see my little journey of improvement. so yeah!
