Sooo... you probably remember Emmet, my little social-media mascott, who also was chilling on the cover until march?

So I kinda decided to throw him on my profile pictures everywhere again, since my old two didn't really tickly my fancy anymore and we all know how, ever since I unlocked the power of drawing my own pfps, I feel guilty using pictures I didn't make... welp, here we go again!

So here's the pic I used on my main account for quite some time, obviously switching around now and then because.... well who doesn't love switching pfps sometimes? I essentially cropped down another pic I drew of Emmet and slapped a circle behind him.

So here's the memory of that:

And here we have the actual pfp I drew myself on the 4. August last year. I attempted to get a somewhat charismatic, curious, innocent look across whilst also putting minimal effort into it.... yep, I was lazy that day....

Okay, so let's get to the new stuff, that you already saw, since it's literally my profile picture.

I liked the picture I drew in August a lot, so I decided to redraw it in my current style, using one of these sloppy outfits I drew seemingly ages ago:

Specifically I went with the outfit on the left, since it was more similar to my old profile pictures... uh... yeah, not a lot to say here, since I just sat down and drew a simple portrait of my boy in the 3/4 view...

The most interesting thing must be, that I tried a fun little shading technique, that essentially just consists of a rough shading layer, another shading layer to deepen shadows, some overlays AND then on top some rimlights, to give the illusion od detail. Honestly, I'm surprised how well it turned out, since I only needed 15 minutes to shade the entire thing ^-^

Welp, and because i still have a second account on way too many platforms and I was too lazy to draw a second picture, I just recoloured the different elements >w<

So yeah... now that I had some new profile pictures, I fancied to go ahead and draw Emmet again... except as a chibi, because reasons.

So I did an ugly sketch in Krita and...

oof... I don't know how to break it to you...

um.... I then imported the sketch to Sai2........... yes, I betrayed Krita, shame on me, but I wouldn't want to dwell on it, since Sai is just my preferred programm for lineart T^T

Welp, I then lined the thing in Sai, and returned back to Krita for the colouring. Honestly, I had a shitload of fun with this, since it was just a little project on the side where I just wanted to go ahead and enjoy myself in my chibi style >w<
Also the shading was really relaxing, since I tested out a really lazy form of cell-shading >w<

Okay! So much to Emmett... didn't have all that much to say about him, so I decided to throw this sketch of Bronadan in here two, since seperating them into two short chapters would've been a bit... yeah.... stupid... and I don't wanna force too many of you mobile users through adverts, whilst I could've just done this in one chapter, so there ya go >w<

So as I said countless times before in this artbook (or... you know what? I dare you to count how often I said it, since it's probably by far not as much as I think), I'm working on Bronadan and Feredir and their glorious reunion, as well as former friendship and life in the band n all that.

And whilst I'm still struggling on Feredir as a grown man, Bronadan is pretty straight forward to do! Main reference is still this old front ref sheet I made last year:

Dang... when looking back at older art, the most obvious thing is how the size of the eyes change. They used to be too big, then too small, then slowly developed to be larger again, until we have whatever the fuck we have now...
Either way, We have our glorious, depressed king who actually wants to be a vegan hippie, living in a trailer and busking to earn his money >>pats him<<, and a whole while ago I designed one of his royal outfits:

And then whilst working on my storyboard, I realised, that I never drew his "normal" clothing.... or rather, the clothing he'd want to wear. I'm still struggling quite a bit with his clothing during his youth, but it will be pretty similar to Erthion's clothing here at some point:

Gotta work on that sometime soon, but for now we have Brons comfort clothing, whilst he's an adult! The goal was, to make everything very loose, comfortable and leaning heavily into the hippie-vibe I imagined him to have.

I don't know why, but when I look at Bronadan, he seems like the type of character to start of as a lost anarchist, with a gangsta phase, shitting all over the government, before realising, that he cannot change anything and instead searching for his own happiness in music and spirituality.

It makes more sense in the long version, but I'll go more in depth with that at some other point... either way, here are three clothing ideas I had:

And afterwards I fancied sketching Bron in one of those because I can and I was tired that day. So I just did something I rarely ever do: just lineart on a blank canvas. I did indeed need some orientation for the arms tho, which is why this is how the sketch looked at the end of that day:

The next day I went back, finished the lineart and threw some colours on there, adding a layer of shading on top to polish it up a bit.

Essentially I just wanted to give him messy hair and his usual tired expression, with a genuine, smol smile ^-^
For some odd reason, shading the eyes of my royal, fireforgean babies is the most fun part of the entire colouring process, because we have that nice glowy, fire effect.

Yeah.... another shorter chapter, but I hope you enjoyed the drawings, even if they were mostly small sketches.
